S02-Chapter 44

Accidental Amore

Earth and Moon are preparing for their wedding. As Moon stands in her wedding dress, Earth says, "Were you always this beautiful?"

Moon turns to Earth and asks, "Do I look like vermillion to you? Is something missing?"

Moon bites her lip, unable to take her eyes off Earth. Suddenly, someone calls out to Moon, breaking her gaze. "Earth, you should think this through again; I'm very messy," Moon says.

A boy is calling for Moon, but she doesn't hear. Earth smiles and says, "Moon will come." She asks, "Why? Don't I look good with you?"

Looking in the mirror where Earth stands beside her, Moon says, "You look a little too good." Earth shyly agrees, "Yeah, maybe."

Moon laments, "I'm the bad one here." Earth then says, "We should go now. You handle the guests, and where's Geet? Why hasn't she arrived yet?"

Moon asks, "Then where is Payal?" Payal emerges from a black car, looking at the palace where the wedding is to take place. "Why does this feel like déjà vu?"

Geet's car arrives, and Moon hugs her tightly, asking, "Where's your wife?" Geet replies, "If you look around, you'll see. Geet is here."

Jay and Ranjeet then enter, Ranjeet holding a baby. Moon takes the baby in her arms. Ranjeet tries to hold Jay's hand, but Jay pulls away.

In their room, Geet immediately asks, "So, what have you decided about the contract?" in a seductive tone. Annoyed, Geet replies, "Can you just breathe for a second?"

Geet smiles and says, "How long, forty days? If you're planning to say no, just let me know now." Geet's behavior leaves the narrator uneasy, thinking, "I didn't think Geet would act like this."

Geet looks at me intently, and when I meet her gaze, I momentarily forget what she was asking. There's a childlike innocence in her eyes that makes my heart ache. She's sitting on the bed, while I stand near the door, and I suddenly feel an urge to wrap her in a comforting hug.

"Are you planning on dying after seeing me?" Geet asks, a playful smirk on her lips. "Remember, I keep a gun with me."

"Shut up, Geet," I reply angrily. "You and I aren't a couple, and we have no relationship. Forget it and listen to me. Go tell my mom the truth."

Geet steps closer, her eyes searching mine. "What's the problem, Payal? Are you allergic to books now, in love with your company? You used to love me, but now you don't even want me? I w wore the saree once, and you start slipping away. What else do you need? Remember that night?"

"Nothing happened that night, and you know that," I say firmly. "Freshen up. we have to practice for the dance outside."

"Oh, come on! You don't need to act shy around me. I know you..." Geet's smirk is grating on my nerves, so I push her against the wall, trapping her with my hands on either side.

"Geet, I'm not so crazy that I'd give my friends' happiness. Stay away from me, or else..." I trail off, suddenly lost in the intensity of her gaze. My angry words fade as I become mesmerized by her lips.

I've never been attracted to anyone before, but this woman is driving me crazy. When she's close, I can't control myself, not even my words. This love feels like black magic.

Geet's eyes looked at mine, both of us trying to control something, but neither wanting to. Her gaze drifted from my lips, and she quickly looked away. I also felt awkward, as if no words would come next. I stepped back to freshen up, grabbed a bag, and went to the bathroom to calm my heart. When people are far away, it's just the fear of getting close that holds us back. Maybe that's what's stopping us. Neither of us trusts each other anymore.

Geet went outside to the balcony, and Jay was talking to someone outside. Seeing Geet, he hung up nervously and said, "She's just a friend, Bhabhi."

Geet didn't listen and asked, "Who?"

"The one on the phone."

"Oh really, and you kiss your friends? I just saw you doing that."

"That was just..(saying without taking breathe) I don't even know what to say. Ranjeet is so busy with work, I have nothing to do but stay at home. I made a friend through online chatting, and now it feels like Ranjeet has stopped talking to me altogether. He's always busy with work. I don't feel like spending even a second with him anymore."

Geet asked, "Have you talked to Ranjeet about this problem?"

"He'd just say, 'If I don't work, what should I do?'" Jay said, imitating Ranjeet.

Just then, Moon arrived and said, "Guys, come on, the dancer's here. Earth and I will be busy with our pre-wedding shoot."

Jay said, "Yeah, we'll be there."

Jay went away, and Geet said, "Think carefully, Jay. Is it really love or just anger at Ranjeet? If the distance grows too much, you might not be able to get it back."

Jay left, and as I came out, I saw Geet standing on the balcony, looking at everyone. I felt like talking to her, so I asked, "What's going on? What are you looking at?"

Geet turned to me and said, "How is it that you haven't fallen for someone else while I was gone? You could've found a better option."

I laughed and replied, "These things don't suit you, but if you want to know the truth, when you weren't around, I had your memories."

Geet smiled and said, "What if we were together, but I was always busy with work and couldn't give you time? Wouldn't you be angry with me?"

I glanced at my phone and said, "I'd be mad, but I'd make sure to keep you awake at night. I wouldn't let you sleep."

Geet blushed, and I knew she'd misunderstand. "What if I come back tired?"

"Well, there's Sunday, right? Keep Sunday just for us. meanwhile, I'll figure something out."

"Have you ever thought about love with someone else?"

I got closer to Geet and playfully hit her on the head with my phone.

"You think I can't have an affair? But the truth is, my mind is messed up, because no other woman interests me except you, and I have no experience with men." I started to leave, but she grabbed my hand, pushed me against the wall, and said, "So, are you admitting you still like me?"

"Do I need to admit it? I'm still crazy about Geet Malhotra."

"Do you have the guts?"

"I've always had it. That's why you went crazy for me, remember? You came into the washroom to say 'I love you.'"

"I remember you were trying to stop me when I was leaving, you were crying like a child, and finally said, 'You love me.'" Geet smiled.

Once again, I got lost in her eyes, and I wanted to push her away, but my heart held back. Anger showed on my face, and I wanted to say harsh words to her, but my heart wouldn't let me.

Geet asked, "What's wrong? Why are you so quiet?"

I pushed her, and Geet fell to the floor. I asked, "Need a hand?" I extended my hand but pulled it back

"You do not need hand." and left and I laughed then I got serious.

It takes so much courage to walk away from someone you love. I took a deep breath and saw Jay hugging a woman who kissed him on the cheek.

Geet followed me, and when she saw Jay, she said, "Jay, taking advantage of my friend?"

Jay got scared, and Geet hugged the woman. Jay smiled nervously and said, "Yes, Geet, your girlfriend is here."

Geet controlled her anger and said, "Jay, was it necessary to tell her this is my girlfriend?"

Just then, Ranjeet arrived and asked, "What's going on? Who is this pretty lady?"

Geet confidently put her arm around waist and said, "My girlfriend."

Seeing this, my mind couldn't process anything, and I left without saying a word.
