Evil Boys: Chapter 34
Evil Boys (Spine Ridge University)
âOh my Goooooood,â Irina exclaims, practically falling off her chair.
My entire face turns red, and I retract my hand. âOkay, thatâs enough.â
âLana, I did not expect this from you,â Crystal muses.
âMe neither, and thereâs nothing to expect,â I say, turning to face them. âThere is nothing between us.â
âExcuse me, I beg to differ,â Milo muses behind me.
âSwear to God, Milo, I will smack you into the fucking hospital,â I grit, trying to keep my cool so I donât blow up in front of everyone in this goddamn library.
âDonât threaten me with a good time,â he retorts.
âWow,â Crystal mutters, her eyes widening.
So I whisper to all three of the girls, âPlease donât tell my brother. Or anyone for that matter. Theyâve been stalking me.â
âStalking you?â Milo scoffs. âYouâre the one whoââ
I smack my hand in front of his lips so he doesnât blurt out more. âYou. Come with me. Now.â
I grasp his arm and drag him out of the library. Everyoneâs looking at us, but I donât care. Iâm just taking him for a walk and talk.
âWhere are we going?â he asks.
âSomewhere private,â I mutter.
The smug grin on his face is insufferable. âOh, I like the sound of that.â
I drag him all the way to the underground swimming pool that I know no one attends right now because the doors are locked.
âWait, this is locked.â
âNot for me.â I fish out a key and shove it in to open the door.
âHowâd you get that?â he asks.
âMy fatherâs the dean,â I reply.
His eyes narrow, and a wicked smile forms on his face. âYou stole it. Youâre not so different from us after all.â
âBorrowed. And Iâm nothing like you guys.â
âSure, you keep pretending youâre better than us.â
I push him inside and shut the door behind us, then corner him against the wall. âWhat were you trying to do there? Out us all?â
He holds up his hands like he wants to make peace. âNothing. Nathan just asked me to go check on you.â
âWhy? Why does he care?â
âYou say it like itâs surprising that he could,â he says.
âOf course it is, heâs never once shown interest in my safety or well-being.â
âJust because we use you for sex doesnât mean we donât care,â he says.
Grumbling, I push myself off him and pace around near the edge of the water. âI donât understand. Ever since he paid off those fuckers and saw his sister, something about him has just ⦠changed.â
âHis sister is important to him. And now that the load of stress is off him ⦠youâre just seeing him for who he really is,â Milo says.
âWhatever.â I sigh out loud. âStill ⦠that doesnât mean you can just walk up to me and my friends.â
He pouts. âWhy not?â
âWell, you literally just outed me to my friends. What if they tell Felix, huh?â
His brow rises. âWould that be such a bad thing?â
I just stare at him with my jaw dropped. âFelix hates you guys. Like, Iâm not kidding. Heâd actually cut out your eye and feed it to you for touching me.â
âOh ⦠fuck, that just made my cock hard.â
I slap him in the face. âFocus!â
âPresent!â
âDonât talk to me in public,â I say, trying to ignore his obvious hard-on. âNot in front of anyone. I donât want this to get out.â
His eyes narrow, and he tilts his head. âAre you embarrassed to be seen with me?â
My cheeks flush, but I roll my eyes and turn away so he wonât see. âEmbarrassed is a strong word.â
Thereâs a pause. âYou like me.â
My eyes widen, and I turn my head to glance at him. Big mistake because that stupid shit-eating grin of his only makes my blush worse.
âNo, I donât.â
âYes, you do.â He pushes himself off the wall and approaches me, and when I try to move away, he grabs my arm. âDonât run away from this.â
âIâm not running anywhere.â
âYou donât like to be confronted with the truth,â he says.
He pushes my hair behind my ear, his fingers lingering near my neck, every touch sending delicious shocks up my spine.
Fuck, stop this, Lana.
âFine, you want the truth? We made a deal. My body for your silence. Youâre not being silent right now.â
âIâll be quiet for my queen whenever she demands â¦â
Oh, there he goes again.
âDonât,â I grit.
âDonât what?â He tips up my chin. âTreat you like you deserve to be treated?â
I gulp at the intensity with which he says those words. âI never askedââ
âYou donât have to ask. Like I said ⦠Iâm at your service ⦠I donât want this to be just about some deal,â he says, pulling me closer.
My eyes narrow. Fine. He wants to play this game? Iâll play. âThen tell me who that guy was you were talking to.â
âA friend.â
âWhat kind of friend?â
He smiles slyly. âIâll tell you about mine if you tell me about yours.â
Of course heâs going to play hard to get.
I sigh out loud. âMilo â¦â
âWhat? I want to get to know you.â He wraps an arm around my waist. âBut you wonât let me.â
âWeâre enemies.â
He cups my cheek as he leans in. âWhat if I donât want to be?â
When he presses the softest of kisses to my lips, I almost, almost forget heâs supposed to be an enemy. His lips eagerly roam mine, his fingers coiling through my hair like he adores every strand, and itâs a kind of love I havenât felt before.
No number of kisses Jason ever gave me could come close to the kind of adoration Milo pours into them. He pecks me on each corner of my lips like heâs leaving tiny little trails of infatuation. Each kiss is followed by a glance, a glimmer of excitement in his eyes as he leans in to kiss me again and again, until my mind canât even tell if I hate him or adore him.
Fuck.
I try to push him away, but instead, I lose my balance and slip. âWhoa, whoa, whoa!â
I fall backward, clutching his shirt ⦠and we tumble into the pool.
