Chapter 6: The Change
Send It To My Phone
Blake'a Point of View
I opened my car door, seeing Adrianna leaning up against the wall. She was wearing the smallest dress, that barely covered anything, with the tallest heels. She still was shorter than me. Her hair was down in curls. She had a small pout on her face, hoping it would make her attractive.
"Hey Blake." She purred. She tried to trail her hand down my arm, but I moved.
"Come on." I said ignoring her advances. I opened the door, hearing a little bell chime. I walked over to a random booth, Adrianna following closely behind. I sat down with Adrianna across from me. I took the menu that was located in front of us. I wondered what's good here.
"Hello. I'm Krissy." Our waitress said. I looked up and saw the girl. She had semi-short brown hair and brown eyes that were covered by thick glasses.
Hmm. I don't remember her having glasses. Her body was also covered by baggy clothes as if she we disguising herself. Could this be my mystery girl?
"Do I know you?" Adrianna asked in disgust. I continued to stare at the girl as Adrianna said that. She looks so familiar, yet it can't be my girl. She would not look like this. She would expose skin, showing off her incredible body. She also wasn't wearing any glasses at the party.
"I don't think so." Krissy said. She looked frightened as I continued to watch her. Kate wouldn't be shy or scared in front of me. She would jump at the chance to see me, at least I think she would.
"Are you sure?" I asked. I cocked an eyebrow, hoping to break her. She shook her head. I internally sighed. It's not her.
"No. I live in the next town over. What can I get you guys to drink?" She asked. I guess she wasn't Kate.
"Coke." I said keeping an eye on her. Maybe without her glasses and different outfit she could be my Kate. But she said her name was Krissy. Maybe I just want to find her so bad that this nerd looks like her. It has to be that. I wouldn't be caught dating a nerd. Or anyone for that matter.
"Iced tea." Adrianna said from in front of me. She gave Krissy a tight lipped smile. Krissy looked uncomfortable.
"I'll be back with your drinks." Krissy said excusing herself. I watched her walk to the counter before turning to look at Adrianna.
"What the fuck A?" I asked. She didn't have to be rude to a girl she never even met. Adrianna looked up and glared.
"Don't stare at another girl when we're together." She crossed her arms. I rolled my eyes. She knows we aren't together. She can't get jealous.
"Whatever." I said getting up. I walked over to the counter where Krissy was filling up our glasses.
"Hey, are you sure I don't know you?" I asked. She jumped, letting out a shriek. Guess I scared her.
"No, I don't think so." She said nervously. Why is she nervous? Is she hiding something?
"Weren't you at my party?" I asked her. Maybe if she says yes I can prove that she's my girl. But she can't be her. She looks like some nerd. She's probably shy and not my girl. My girl would jump at the chance of being with me. She would not deny knowing me. She'd be all over me.
Damn.
I need to stop thinking about her. There's nothing even special about her, yet she's all I can think of. I need to get laid. This girl needs to disappear from my mind. All she's doing is causing trouble. I have never wanted a girl so damn much in my life. I don't even know why i'm obsessed with finding her. She clearly doesn't want to be found.
"No. I've never seen you before?" Krissy said. She turned back around for a brief second.
"Are you sure? You look familiar." I said. Her hair was the same length as Kate's yet it was different than hers. Kate's looked softer.
"No. I'm sure I would know if I met you." Krissy said in annoyance. I watched her, hoping to break whatever wall she was hiding. She continued to look at me. I sighed, turning away.
I walked over to my booth, sitting down. Adrianna was texting away. She was probably texting one of her minions about me ditching her. She knows we aren't really together. We just go out and then sleep together. I don't want a real relationship, especially with her.
I turned away and I could see Krissy and some blond talking behind the counter. Krissy was filling up our drinks. She was laughing. Something about it made me want to go over there and hear it again. I wanted to be the one to make her laugh.
Crap.
What is going on? This is not my girl so why am I feeling things for another. Actually why am I feeling anything for anyone? What is wrong with me?
I heard the laughter stop. I could see Krissy shaking her head. She grabbed the glasses and walked over to us.
"Here you go." Krissy said setting the glasses down on the table. "Are you guys ready to order?"
"Can I have a cheeseburger and fries?" I asked. I watched her write it down in the little notebook.
"And you?" Krissy asked, turning to look at Adrianna. She looked up from the menu.
"Caesar salad please." She said. I watched Adrianna go back to texting rapidly. Krissy wrote her order down.
"Your order will be out soon." Krissy said walking away. I decided to text Kate. If Krissy looks at her phone, then she's Kate. I took my phone out of my pocket. I searched for her name within my messages. Hers was the only one that didn't have any unread messages. Everyone else's had something about me coming over or going to some party. All being useless and unimportant.
I texted her. I watched her until she turned to look at me. She smiled faintly before turning to look at the chef in the back. She didn't check her phone. I sighed. It's not her.
She then grabbed the plates that were ready on the counter. She walked over to my booth. A huge smile on her face.
"Here you go. Anything else I can get for you guys?" Krissy asked. I didn't say anything. I wanted to break her. She had to be Kate. But I knew she wasn't. "Um i'll be back to check on you." She said when we didn't answer.
"Are you sure I don't know you?" I asked again as she turned away from me. She chuckled before turning to look at me.
"I'm pretty sure." Krissy said leaving. I watched her walk through a door that led to what I assumed was the back. I sighed. I had to stop with this idea that it was her. I took my phone out and texted Kate. Maybe she'll reply this time.
just met some chick that kinda looks a lot like you
I put my phone down. I grabbed my burger, biting into it. I then grabbed a fry and stuffed it into my mouth. This food was actually amazing. I went to grab another fry, seeing my phone light up. I put the fry down and grabbed my phone, not carrying about the mess I would make.
doubt it. i'm one of a kind(;
I smirked at her text. Now this was the Kate I was looking for. Sooner or later she was going to be mine.
I saw Krissy walk out from the backroom. She went towards a booth and sat down. I couldn't see who was there. I put my phone down, taking another bite of my burger.
"Stop looking at that nerd." Adrianna said. I looked up and saw her glaring at me. I rolled my eyes.
"Chill A. You are always going to be my go to." I said. I grabbed my drink, feeling the coldness wash down my throat. She always overreacted.
"Fine Blake." Adrianna said before going back to her nonstop texting. Who she was texting? I had no clue nor I cared. I saw Krissy slide out of the booth. She was walking up to our table. I put my signature smirk on.
"Can I have another coke gorgeous?" I said when she reached my table. She smiled at me. Hmm. Maybe I breaking through the wall she put up.
"Sure. More iced tea?" Krissy asked Adrianna. She looked up from her phone.
"Yeah sure." She said looking back down. Krissy grabbed the cups and walked away. I watched her talk to a girl that was sitting at the counter. That girl looked familiar. She was probably apart of the group at school. I only remember people who I talk to. But why was she talking to this girl?
I looked down at my phone and texted Kate. I watched Krissy look at me before I looked at Adrianna. She was eating her salad, glaring at me. I rolled my eyes. Adrianna knows i'm not a one girl type of guy. She may be the girl I hook up with the most, but I will never be her boyfriend.
you sure are. i can't get you out of my head babe.
I waited for Kate to respond to my text. Then Krissy came up to us again. She set the glasses down.
"Anything else I can get you guys?" She asked. I smirked.
"Your number." I said. I felt Adrianna kick my shin. I smirked through the pain.
"What the hell Blake?! We're on a date!" She screeched. I started laughing. So dramatic. I felt Krissy's gaze on me as I chuckled. She then shook her head, walking back over to her friend. I watched as they talked. Krissy was laughing and smiling. God. I wished it was Kate. My quest for her would be done.
"Blake! I'm leaving." Adrianna said getting up. I watched as she slid out of the booth. She grabbed her bag and walked away, making sure I knew she was angry. I rolled my eyes. She'd be calling me later. No one can live without me.
"Bye Morgan!" I heard Krissy say. I watched as her friend left, waving. Ahhh. That's her name. Morgan does hangout with our little group. She's on the cheer team. She's like the only one I haven't slept with from the team. She's beautiful but definitely not my type.
"Here you go." Krissy said handing me a piece of paper. I took my wallet out and gave her one of my cards. I didn't bother to check how much the food was. I was loaded. I watched as Krissy stared at the card. I chuckled. She then looked at Adrianna's now empty spot. Hmm. Perfect timing isn't it.
"She left." I said. Krissy's gaze swung towards me. Her brown eyes had a little bit of green in them, but it was hidden with her glasses. Kate's had a bit of green in them too.
"Huh?" Krissy replied. She looked confused. I chuckled.
"The girl. Why don't you sit?" I asked. I gestured to the spot in front of me. Maybe if I talk to her, I can figure out if she's Kate. Maybe she has a twin sister and that's who I am looking for. I mean they are total opposites. Krissy is nerdy and shy while Kate is hot and outgoing.
"No thank you. I'll be back with your card." Krissy said leaving. I watched as she walked over to the register. I quickly got up and followed her. Her back was to me as she slid my card. I waited for her to finish before I spoke.
"I'll definitely appreciate your number." I said. I watched as she screeched before jumping. I chuckled. I guess she was not expecting me to be behind her. She turned, her eyes not meeting my own.
I was leaning up against the counter. I felt her eyes rake over my body. I smirked. She thought I was hot. I mean I am. Everyone knows that.
"Thank you for coming." Krissy said handing me my card back. I took it and smiled. Every single time I smile at a girl, I can see her melt in front of me. No one can resist me. No one.
Except her.
"No number?" I said when I noticed the receipt was without it. I watched her shake her head.
"Maybe next time. Have a good day." Krissy said. She then turned around and walked into the back. I stood there in awe. Did the nerd just reject me?
-
I pulled my shirt back on. My jeans were laying near the dresser. I found my boxers next to them. I pulled on my clothes before looking around the room. It was pink and girly. Yuck. But, Adrianna was always a good fuck. I would always come back for more. Even if her room was disgustingly pink.
"Babe." She moaned. I turned towards her and saw her wrapped in her bed sheets. We had just finished having sex for the third time tonight.
After the encounter with the waitress, I called Adrianna. She was pissed at me. I used some of my skills and managed to get her to agree to a night with me.
"I'm going." I said ignoring her protests. She leaned forward, making sure nothing was seen. Why? I don't know. I have already seen everything multiple times.
"Blake." She sighed. I turned towards her as I pulled on my shoes. It was late. I needed to go home.
"What A?" I asked her. My tone was filled with annoyance. I grabbed my keys and phone, ready to leave.
"Will you ever stay the entire night?" She asked. I sighed. She had this hopeful look in her eyes. She bit her lip, waiting for me to answer. I knew I couldn't keep playing her. She had real feelings for me. Why? I had no clue. She knew that this was purely physical. I told her from the start. I would never have a relationship.
Relationships have no positive outcome. One falls in love and then one cheats. No one ever loves someone and only that person. It's just not reality.
"I have to go home." I said to her. She nodded in disappointment. I turned around, walking out of her room. I then snuck out of her house. I knew all the shortcuts and quiet routes. I have not once gotten caught sneaking out. I almost did once, seeing her parents in the living room.
I walked towards my car, which was parked a few feet away from her house. I unlocked it, getting into the driver's seat. I started the engine, hearing it roar. My Lambo is my baby. It's the car I hardly ever use. It has to be a special occasion for me to have to drive it. Today was supposed to be one. I was expecting to run into Kate.
After my fun with Adrianna, I still haven't gotten the brunette out of my head. I don't know what it is about her. I just can't seem to forget her.
I pulled into my driveway, parking the expensive car in the garage. I saw that my dad's car was parked in the other garage. I'm surprised he's home. Usually he won't come back until nine or ten. He spends a majority of his time at work. Ever since the divorce, he drowns himself in his work. I hardly see him.
"Dad?" I called out. I hung the keys up in the kitchen, waiting for him to respond. I walked out of the kitchen into the large living room.
There was a large flat screen tv hanging above a larger fireplace. An L shaped couch sat in front. A small coffee table was placed in the middle with a side table on the left side. The foyer was down one hallway while the kitchen was down another. The grand staircase was a few feet away, leading up to all the bedrooms. Behind the staircase, there was another hallway. It led to the backyard with an office on the way.
"Dad?" I called out again. I stood in the living room. I watched my father walk out from behind the stairs. I assumed he was in his office.
He was still in his work attire. Black slacks and a white button up. The tie he usually has on was no wear to be seen. His blond hair was a mess as was his shirt. It was wrinkling and stained. Something must be really stressing him out.
"Hello Blake." My dad said when he noticed me.
"What are you doing back so early?" I asked him. I dropped my bag on the couch, going over to him. I watched as worried lines formed on his face.
"I have news to tell you. I'm not sure if you'll be happy about them." He said. He ran his hands through his hair, letting out a long sigh. I watched his muscles tense up.
"What's going on dad?" I asked. I hated being out of the loop. Dad never kept secrets from me. Since the first day he found out that my mother was cheating on him, he told me. He told all of us.
"Your mom wants Sophie to live with us." My dad said. I widened my eyes. That is not like my mom. She chose her over me, over her own son. She would not allow Sophie to come back to Hartford. She would rather die than let her step foot in Connecticut. She must want something. She only does things for her own benefit. God. I despised my own mother. I can't wait to hear what she wants this time.
"Are you serious?" I asked him. He slouched before nodding. I watched him sit on the end of the couch. He unbuttoned the rest of his work shirt before taking it off. He was left in a white undershirt. He sighed. The confusion was evident on his face. It was full of dark under eye circles and worried lines. He didn't deserve any of this.
"Your sister will be staying with us the rest of your senior year." My dad said. I gasped. I could not believe what I was hearing.
My twin sister was coming back.
