Chapter 15: What on Earth Is Love?

Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife

In fact, it is quite good to end a marriage without love. However, such

kind of words can not be thrown to Chloe at this point. If there isn't any

word to comfort her, how could her wound be sprinkled with salt

again?

"Olive, if I really get divorced, you must take me in. You know my

parents’ home, and none of them will help me. As for my husband's

family, they had long been anxious to drive me out of the house.”

"Twerp, we are bestie. Who are you going to look for if you don't ask

me for help?" It's hard for her to come round overnight. Olive’s heart

ached for her. How much bitterness she carries behind the

extravagance must only be clear to herself.

"It's good to have you!" Chloe had tears in her eyes.

"Now you can have something to eat. It's not wise to abuse yourself.

Eat something and have a good sleep. It's no use thinking too much

about some things. You will cross the bridge when you get to it.” Olive

naturally persuaded her and pulled her up from the cold ground and

helped her to sit on the bed.

Chloe had no objection. Olive asked Mary to bring some gruel. She

went to the bathroom and twisted a hot towel to wipe her face. Then

she watched Chloe eating, watched her fall asleep and tucked her quilt,

covered the door, and left with a calm face.

In the twilight street, the north wind whistled and it was cold. Olive

hugged her body for warmth.

At first, she didn't think about having words with Bruce. Although she

and Chloe are close friends, she is not familiar with him. But when she

saw the familiar car parked at the door of Jinsha Club, the man carefully

guarded the famous model to get out of the car and they walked into

the club hand in hand, the anger in her heart burst into flames.

Bruce, you are a real jerk. Just after you divorced your wife, you can

have fun with other women.

Olive almost let loose a torrent of abuse. She tried to break in, but she

was stopped by the security guard outside the door. "Miss, you can't go

in."

Well, this is a private club with a strict membership hierarchy. Without

that voucher, everyone will be blocked outside the door. What's more,

nothing on her is a famous brand. She dressed too plainly and it

seemed that she was trying to find someone to get even with. How

could she possibly be put in?

These security guards have long learned to judge a person's rank of

dignity by his or her clothes.

She couldn't get into the club, so she had to step back to the side of

the road and wait for the heartbreaker.

They used to be princes and Cinderella. Their proposal made a big

splash on the University campus. He promised to take care of Chloe all

his life. They yearned for the eternal love. In the big net of the rich

family, facing the tart and offhand parents-in-law, the betrayal of her

husband and the ridicule of the relatives, she could not escape from the

tease of fate and walked on the withered road.

What on earth is love? Is it matched for marriage? Is it to go forward

alone? Is it to bear humiliation? Is it to turn a blind eye?
