Chapter 146: The Victim of Commercial Marriage
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
"Okay." Annie closed her eyes carefully, folded her hands, and mumbled silently. Then she opening
her bright eyes, blew out the four candles.
Olive went to turn on the light, and as she looked back, she saw Dave joking with Annie. "What did
you wish for?"
"I won't tell you." Annie said to him, looking mysterious.
"Why?"
âBecause wishes don't work when they're spoken.â Annie said very seriously.
While chatting over dinner, Olive learned that Dave was going to open a martial arts health club in
Luo city. All the procedures and venues have been completed, and the coach has been invited. After
the Spring Festival, students would be officially enrolled, but Annie was the only student that he
enrolled personally.
Olive felt a little flattered, knowing that it was because of Ivy.
While Olive was doing the dishes after dinner, the living room was full of people's laughter with the
lovely child, Annie. Olive's mother sneaked into the kitchen, closed the door, and placed the bowls,
which Olive had poured into the dishwashing liquid, in the sink for washing, she pretending to
mention casually. "Olive, as Annie is four years old, and you're no spring chicken, maybe it's time to
think about getting married. In a year or two, since you won't be young, you'll have less choice in
marrying, and people may not choose to marry you.â
Olive felt bad when she heard her mother mope and sigh, she smiling. "Mom, it's never that easy to
meet the right person and get married. I know very well, so don't worry about it."
âIf you'd known better, you'd have found a father for Annie. Your father and I both think Ivy is a nice
person, as I can see that he is not only interested in you, but also cares about Annie. Why don't you
try dating him?"
Olive seemed to have a headache, as everyone thought Ivy as a good man, but she really doesn't
want to marry him. "Mom, don't mix things up, since he and I are just good friends. Don't say that in
front of him, or he and I will be embarrassed to be friends."
"Oh, I was so worried about you." Although Olive's mother blamed Olive, she also loved and worried
Olive. Girls had to get married no matter how good their careers were, as they needed to have a
companion to care and live together. When they're old, and Annie' married, Olive needs a
companion.
In the dead of night, after seeing off the guests, Annie finally fell into a deep sleep after a day of
playfulness.
As Olive couldn't sleep, the SD doll was at the end of the bed, staring at Olive with her round eyes.
As the package was delivered by SF express, it was not delivered by the post office, so there was no
postmark. But there was a tracking number that could be inquired. Perhaps as there had been a
mysterious payment for her, although she later found out it was Alan, she had been haunted ever
since.
She checked on the Internet, finding that the package's tracking number was local and the person
who sent the package did not leave his name.
She did not like the feeling that the mysterious man was in the dark and she was in the light, which
made her very uncertain about what would happen next.
She felt it again on New Year's Eve.
In the New Year's Eve, Olive's parents warmly invited the lonely Ivy to spend the New Year together.
As they also heard that Xenia ran away from home, Xenia also became their guests.
As for Dave, who suddenly appeared in Luo city, he learned from Shaolin when he was a child. When
he grew up, he was homeless and seemingly rootless, so he naturally followed Ivy to have dinner. As
soon as he entered, he caught Annie and asked her to call him teacher.
Annie didn't want to do it, so she sat on his shoulder, calling him full beard. The man, though fierce
in appearance, was extremely patient.
Since the band members were all from out of town and didn't return home for the New Year, Olive
invited all of them to have dinner.
The house of three bedrooms and two living rooms suddenly seemed crowded but lively, and the
Little One also called up from time to time, jumping up and down.
Xenia followed Olive's mother and Olive in the kitchen to make dumplings, but she couldn't make
any. She kept learning how to make dumplings, as if fighting against dough and dumplings. âI don't
believe I can't learn that today.â
Olive's mother smiled, saying. "It seems hard, but after you make a few more dumplings, you will
learn to make dumplings. Take your time and be patient.â
Xenia wished her mother were still alive. She actually envied Olive, since although Annie didn't have
a father, the family lived a happy life. Olive's parents were also kind and easy-going, as it was her
second visit, and they knew her as well as family, making she feel at home.
Unlike in the Boswell family, everyone seemed to wear a mask. She and her eldest brother were
born of the same mother and soon after their mother died, their father resumed his marriage. Their
stepmother was a clever and complicated woman who had two sons. The eldest of her stepmother's
two sons was several years older than her and only a few months younger than her eldest brother.
He was also her father's own son, so it was self-evident that the stepmother was the mistress that
her father had kept outside when her mother was still alive.
The moment she knew it, her father's image suffered a disastrous decline in her mind. She really did
not miss that home, as there was no other than intrigue. She only worried about her eldest brother,
who has been taking care of her since childhood.
In fact, she ran away from home with the support of her eldest brother this time, since he did not
want her to become the victim of commercial marriage.
