Chapter 23: Who Is She Going to Date (2)

Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife

Sabrina was so angry that she pushed Susie, "You have eyes, right? But I

think they're on the top of your head. Otherwise, how can you

randomly thrust into others?"

Susie was unwilling to show her weakness, "What do you think you are?

You can just flatter her when she is promoted. Everyone knows that the

reason why she can become assistant president is that she is good at

pleasing president. The way she resigned is just to have a meal with the

president. Who knows if there are other sordid things she has done

privately?”

Olive grabbed the angry Sabrina and smiled softly, "Assistant Maltz, if

you have the strength to shout here, it will be better for you to think

about how to snatch the president from me, or how to clean me out. If

you have the ability to obstruct my job hunting outside, you should

think abut that I will turn around and return back."

Susie changed her face for a while, but recovered quickly, "You don't

make an unfounded attack upon me here.”

Looking at her guilty expression, Olive was sure that she had interfered

her job hunting. Then Olive thought of one saying that "Cleverness may

overreach itself".

"You clearly know whether I have mistaken you or not. But on such a

cold day, assistant Maltz wears such cool clothes. Be careful not to

catch cold."

There was a lot of laughter all around, and Olive left with a light smile.

However, a good lunch, was destroyed by Susie. Olive's clothes were

stained with a large amount of oil, which could not be wiped off. Olive

had to call Chloe and ask her to send a coat.

The work Alan ordered needed to be finished in a short time. But the

work was too much and many of the original data needed to be looked

up from the reference room. After that, the data needed to be fed into

the computer. Olive felt that she had become a data operator input,

with her fingers constantly running on the keyboard at high speed.

Even if she worked so efficiently, Olive still hadn't finished half of the

work until the end of work time. Olive sighed that the work overtime

was unavoidable tonight.

At 6: 00 p.m., Annie called her and said, "When will you get home?

Chloe's Mommy has cooked a table of delicious food for you to eat

when you come back.”

She had been able to cook, which seemed that the woman's ability to

adjust herself was very good. Chloe's parents had known that she had

divorced. In addition to pity her, they could only treat her as a relative.

Olive whispered softly, "Sorry, honey, I can't accompany you to dinner

tonight. Baby, please eat more.”

* Mummy Olive, the beauty, Chloe asked you whether you work

overtime or have a date?"

Olive leaned over the table, stretched out, and sighed, "I want to have a

date, but I am exploited by the evil capitalism..."

Her desk was just outside the president's office. At the same time, Alan

was opening the door and coming out. When he heard this, he raised

the corner of his lips, and then her eyes cooled down. Date? Who was

she going to date? The man whom she was reluctant to leave

downstairs in the neighborhood?

He shut the door a little restlessly, put his suit in his arms and strode

away.

Olive looked at his figure and was stunned. He must have heard what

she said just now. Then she shrugged her shoulders, spat out her

tongue slightly and made a naughty expression.

In fact, she was not afraid of him, but she would involuntarily become

cautious.

Because it was in winter, colleagues would not work too late. At 8:00

P.m., the whole building was quiet.

Many of the lights were turned off. It was dark around, as if there were

countless hands tearing away the horrible cells. The person who was

timid couldn't stand it.

Although Olive had never believed in ghosts and gods, she couldn't

help being frightened when all were quiet at dead of night. So she

played some intense music to embolden herself.

She went to the tea room to refresh herself with a cup of coffee.

Sabrina knew that she had to work late. So she bought her a box lunch

and prepared some snacks for her after work. At this time, she was

eating the snacks while secretly slandering Alan. And then she made a

phone call to her home, getting ready not to go home all night.

She made a living depending on the salary. So she had no choice but to

do her duty.

Returning to the office, she saw a person standing at her desk. She

couldn't help but be a little shocked, "Mr. Hoyle?"

It was too late. Why did he get back to the office?

"Not finished yet?" He asked indifferently, looking through the

information on her desk at will.

Knowing that he was asking as if he didn't know, Olive felt a little angry.

She was not a Superman and such a large workload wouldn't be

finished in a short time.

"No." She answered him formally.

"How long will it take?"

"If it is efficient, I can be able to sort it out before tomorrow's meeting.

On the contrary, I am not sure.” Olive said intentionally.

Alan frowned, and he looked at her unhappily.

Olive shrugged her shoulders and said, "I'm sorry, my work efficiency is

much lower than the requirements of Mr. Hoyle. I suggest that you

consider carefully whether you still want to let me stay in the company."

Alan leaned on the table and put his hand on the data. He looked at

Olive with his confused eyes, "Miss Steele, why do I think that you seem

to have a bone to pick with me?”

Olive laughed reluctantly, "Mr. Hoyle, that's a serious statement. It is

before you become the new boss of the company that I have wanted to

resign.”

"Since you have no objection to me, why can't you stay here, eh?" His

eyebrows moved slightly, and his eyes followed her.

Olive dared not look at his eyes, "I don't understand why Mr. Hoyle

always has to pay attention to an employee who has been unwilling to

stay here anymore."

"I don't quite understand. As a boss, I have put down my stature and

asked you to stay. But what is it that makes you so strongly wish to

leave the company, huh?”

It seemed that he had been accustomed to having such a final sound. It

was obvious that he said in a soft and gentle tone, but Olive still felt

very nervous, "I..."

How should she answer him?
