Chapter 406 Just Looking for A Quarrel Here
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
âI got it. After having breakfast, send me to work.â
Alan was helpless with her and had to send her to Angel.
Olive's appearance attracted everyone's attention in the hotel after all. Many people greeted her
along the way.
Back to her office, Secretary Rou rushed at her with an exaggerated expression, âSister Olive, finally,
you're back.â
Olive smiled, âDo you miss me?"
"How could I be missing you? I'm simply daydreaming about you.â Her boss is still the matchmaker
between her and Ted. She is easy going. Aside from being careless at work, she could joke all she
wanted. She had always felt lucky to be able to work under her.
âDid you sneakily goof off while I was away?â
"Absolutely notâ
âAnd you also didn't date or anything else?â Olive was all smile.
âSister Olive!â Rou stomped her feet and her face was blushing.
"Okay, donât stomp on the floor anymore. Summon your boyfriend here.â
It turned out that teasing someone was quite entertaining. No wonder Alan always liked to tease
her.
Ted knocked on the door and came in. Olive asked about the hotel operations in detail and some
general affairs at work. In the end, she also asked, âDoes Mrs. Hoyle still live here?â
This old lady that's hard to deal with could always stir up trouble for her. Although Alan always tried
his best to prevent her from openly getting into a confrontation with that old lady alone, avoiding
her wasn't a solution.
She was wondering if she should take the initiative to pay a visit to the old lady.
Ted replied, âWe haven't checked her out from the room but Mrs. Hoyle also doesn't live here every
day. If sheâs here, she must be with Ms. Ophelia.â
Ophelia followed her all around but she didn't feel strange at all. Who let her become the old lady's
respected daughter-in-law? Who let her keep thinking about the old lady's son?
Sometimes, she also wondered, was that real love or sheâs just unwilling to lose him. She's just like a
child who couldnât stand the sight of her toys being taken by other people.
As for the apology, she didn't want to show any forbearance referring to Mrs. Hoyle's position.
Having done so many wicked things, losing her was also inevitable. There's nothing to sympathize
with.
There was a visitor in the afternoon, it was Ophelia.
Rou felt that there's always such a disgusting person in this world, whose evil influence always
remained, couldn't bear to see the others doing well, and tried every means to ruin it.
So, she stopped her without hesitation, âI'm sorry, Miss but without an appointment, you can't get
inside.â
Ophelia was slightly arrogant, âDo you know who I am?â
âI do, Ms. Ophelia Meyer.â That wicked and shameless mistress, Rou despised in her heart.
âThen, why don't you step aside?â Ophelia reached out to her to push her.
Rou didn't budge an inch, âI'm sorry, I'm slow-witted. I can't figure out the certain connection
between the two of them. Please cooperate with me.â
âWhat is your name?â Ophelia asked.
Rou replied fearlessly and without being haughty, âEveryone calls me Rou.â
"What if I break this door today?â Ophelia wasn't willing to show her weakness.
âSince Ms. Ophelia, you didnât show any respect, then I don't mind calling the security guard.â
"Are you threatening me?â Opheliaâs face turned pale.
âI'm just a mere secretary. How could I dare? It's just that Ms. Ophelia, you're someone with status
and dignity. I think it's appropriate for you to act rudely.â Rou spoke steadily.
Her patience was being rubbed, Ophelia raised her voice, âYou'd better stepped aside...â
âMs. Ophelia, Angel isn't a place where you can behave atrociously. If you want to act all mighty,
please return to Meyer Group.â Rou wasn't being gentle at all. She could even stab a person half-
dead when sheâs being tough.
"You still won't step aside, right?
âRightâ Rou was very determined. If anyone were let in, how could Olive work? So, no matter how
fierce this woman is, she won't let her in. Why should she? This was not her familyâs territory.
But Olive had heard the strange commotion outside. She opened the door and said faintly, âLet her
in."
Rou spoke in dissatisfaction, âSister Olive...â
âBring two cups of tea insideâ Olive gave her instruction and turned around.
Ophelia snorted and stomped in. Rou made a disgusted expression behind her. After walking to the
pantry and throwing the teabag inside the cup, she couldn't help but spit. Then, she let out a wicked
smile, poured the boiling hot water, and brought it inside.
âMs. Ophelia, please enjoy.â Since Olive had let this woman in, she still had to maintain her
professional manner.
After putting down the teacups, she stood behind Olive, and watched that woman's action without
blinking.
How could Olive not get her attitude? She turned around and smiled slightly, âRou, just go outside
and do your job.â
âSister Olive, I'm worried because of her.â Rou didn't hide her hostility towards Ophelia. Everyone
now knows that she is a bad woman and can do anything bad.
âI'm fine. You can go out.â Olive said lightly, but her words were intense and couldn't be defied.
Rou reluctantly went out. She turned her head and didn't forget to glare at Ophelia, then closed the
door. It's like a warning to that woman for not messing around in this office.
"Why are you looking for me? I'm really busy and I donât have time to play with you.â Olive didn't
want to waste her time. She hadn't come for one week and her pending jobs were piled up. Of
course, she also thought that there's nothing good about this woman came looking for her.
Ophelia scoffed at her, âYou really have regarded yourself as boss here and even occupied Norton's
office. I have to make an appointment only to chat with you. You're good at pretending to be what
you're not.â
Olive wasn't irritated because it's not worth being irritated with such a person. This person tried
every way to infuriate her. She wasn't fooled and even smiled brightly.
âThe old man let me move in. As for chatting, I don't think there's anything to chat with you.â
There was nothing to say since the beginning. Both of them had deep grievances and she had no
intention to make enemies. But this woman refused to drop the matter, so, what can she do.
âThere's indeed nothing to talk about. I just like hanging around you. I'm happy with it.â Since she
made her unhappy, then she couldn't let her live so carefree and happy. She, Ophelia, had never
been treated so unfairly. She had always been loved and pampered since she was young. She had
never been so humiliated. She was abandoned on her wedding day and became a laughingstock,
which made her unable to lift her head in front of her friends.
There's a strong hatred coming from Opheliaâs eyes. The main cause of the disaster was the woman
in front of her. Don't think of living carefree and steadily. Even if she couldn't ruin this woman, she
would let her life be filled with her shadow, showing her existence all the time.
âMs. Ophelia, although you have an innocent baby face, you're still older than me by one to two
years. But why do I feel that the older you are, the more childish you become? You think that
standing all day in front of me could make me upset, don't you? And at the time I quarrel with Alan,
you think you can seize that opportunity, right? I don't know if you're overestimating yourself or
underestimating your enemy. Since you like to stand along here all day long, either be a model or
guarding the door, feel free to do it, Ms. Ophelia. Just donât blame me for not reminding you that
there are so many Alan's die-hard fans here. You blatantly came here and looked for attention, don't
accidentally become the protagonist of a scandal.â
"You..." Ophelia rose from the sofa.
Rou, who was eavesdropping outside the door, couldn't help but want to give her applause.
âWhat are you doing, Rou?â Ted's voice suddenly came from her back shocked her, causing her
stance became unsteady, she advanced toward the office and threw herself on the half-opened
door, and crashed on all four to the ground.
âOuch,â The fall wasn't soft, surprising the two people, and made them turned around quickly to
look at her.
Rou was supported to stand up by Ted awkwardly, and with a frustrated face, âSister Olive, I'm sorry.
I didn't mean it.â
Olive felt both funny and curious. She didn't mean to eavesdrop or crush into the room?
Ophelia sneered, âUnqualified people could only have unqualified employees, even have a hobby to
eavesdrop.â
Rou thought of how could there be such a shameless woman in this world. She unexpectedly talked
about quality to her. If everyone in this world had no quality, it's still better than this hypocrite
woman. She wore an innocent face, however, she had no conscience. There's a saying, no one can
defeat a shameless person. This woman was simply matchless.
âI can't help it, since there's a certain person with infamous evil deeds. Such unqualified people like
us can only put our guard against such a high-quality person, to avoid harming our Sister Olive. Mr.
Hoyle had given his warning repeatedly. If a certain person comes, I should keep an eye on her.
There must not be the slightest mishap. Also, I've called Mr. Hoyle. I think he might've been on his
way..."
Even a fool could understand what she meant. If she didnât want to look for any troubles, she had
better scram.
Alan is Opheliaâs Achillesâ heel. As soon as she heard his name, her face changed slightly. Although
she tried her best to cover it, she still couldn't hide her trembling lips.
âYou think I'm afraid of him.â
âYou are never afraid of anything. Of course, you are not afraid of him.â Olive spoke ahead of Rou.
She's afraid that this kid would provoke Ophelia with her blunt remarks, and would seek her for
revenge later, âTed, bring Rou outside.â
"Sister Olive...â Rou was unwilling, Ted dragged her out of the office. She stomped on his foot, âWhy
did you drag me out?â
Ted poked her forehead, âWhat's the use to show off your bluntness? The way you spoke will only
cause Ophelia to have more hatred towards Sister Olive.â
Rou touched her forehead, gave a thought, and put on a long face, âThen, I was no help to Sister
Olive?â
âNext time, think first before you speak.â Ted lectured her.
"Okay"
"Ophelia, do you think this is fun?â
If she's using a bad phrase, sheâs like a crazy woman pestering her. Olive really wanted to suggest
her to see a psychiatrist.
âAs long as I find it interesting, then it's fine.â
As she spoke, Ophelia went back and sat on the sofa, like someone who had nothing to do. She
casually picked up the newspaper on the table and flipped it over.
