Chapter 410 She Was Followed

Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife

The woman was straightforward, “Where are you going back to? How much do you want? I'll lend

you.”

Xenia had thought that borrowing money from someone who she only met once on the street

would make the other person feel suspicious of her scamming money. She planned to call her

brother when she returned to the hotel. She didn’t expect that the woman would be so willing to

help others.

"Are you not afraid that I'm lying to you?”

The woman smiled and took off her sunglasses, “By looking at your clothes, you just have enough

money for one ticket. Moreover, it's pretty amazing that a person like you hasn't been deceived by

others, and your boyfriend actually let you come out alone, not afraid of you being abducted.”

Xenia was stunned for a moment and stared more at the beautiful woman. It was her first time to

see beautiful eyes with such pureness like the crescent moon and there's also a fox's charm in it. The

two contradictory styles blend perfectly together.

The woman thought she had offended her and quickly apologized, “I'm sorry. I didn't mean to

mention that.”

“No, no. I just think your eyes are really beautiful and you're beautiful. It's no wonder you have to

use such large pair of glasses to cover them,” Xenia gestured.

The woman smiled, “Although I've heard a lot of similar things, I'm still very happy to be praised by

a woman too."

Xenia thought she was a very interesting woman.

“Tell me, how much do you want? I don't have a lot of cash in me. I can go to the bank if it's not

enough.”

She had already said so, and Xenia felt that she didn't need to be polite anymore. It wasn't like she

wouldn't pay her back. Besides, it was nice to be able to be friend with such friendly person.

“You can just lend me money for a taxi to go to the airport and a ticket to return to Luo City. Leave

me your phone number and account number. I'll pay you back after I return.”

The woman's hand, which was ruffling through her bag, halted, “Are you from Luo City?”

“No.” She wanted to answer that it was her boyfriend, but in the end she changed into, “I work

there.”

The woman looked very happy, “What a coincidence. I'm going to Luo City too in two days. If you're

not rushing, let's go together, so that we won't be lonely on the plane.”

When she asked again, it turned out that the two lived in the same hotel. Their rooms were even

across each other. Strange things could happen in this big world.

More coincidences would come in the future.

The more Dave Chou thought about it, the more he felt unpleasant. What right did she have to be

free and at leisure alone outside while he was here and was deeply worried about her? She even

actually hung up his phone call. What a cruel woman.

How could she drop her phone? Before, her brother would cover for her. Then, her brother said that

she had gone to Europe alone. She wasn't familiar with the place and he didn't know what

happened. He grew worrier the more he thought about it. He called back, “When will you be back?”

But he didn't expect the woman on the other end of the phone would be pretending, “Who are

you?"

Dave gritted his teeth and said, “Your man, Dave Chou.”

“Dave Chou? Dane Chou? I don't know him.”

The phone call was hung up again.

Dave was furious, but soon he realized that the voice on the other end wasn't right. But he had

dialed back the previous number.

“I'm looking for Xenia Boswell.”

“You're looking for Xenia. Why didn't you say so? But I'm sorry, it's not convenient for her to answer

your call right now.” The woman blinked at Xenia, motioning her to not make a sound.

Her small action was naturally invisible to Dave who was at the other end of the phone and at the

other side of the ocean, “Why?”

“She is frightened. Her wallet and phone were robbed, and a gangster had a knife...”

Dave's face changed when he heard this, “Then is she hurt?”

“No. But she’s so frightened that her entire face was pale...”

Hearing that she wasn't injured, Dave's heartbeat slowed down a half beat, “Why didn't she tell me

just now?”

"She wanted to tell you, but did you give her the chance to?"

What did it mean that he didn’t give her a chance? It was her who hung up the call first.

Whatever. When a woman was being unreasonable, he couldn't argue. He had more important

question to ask.

"Are you her friend?”

“We were strangers ten minutes ago.”

"Where are you guys now?”

“Tsk tsk. A boyfriend like you doesn't even know where his girlfriend is. And you're not even afraid

she'll be abducted. It's a coincidence I'm missing a companion, so I'll borrow your girlfriend for ten

days. I think Mr. Chou have no objection.”

Before he could express his objection, the other side hung up the call. When he called again, the

phone had shut off, which was obviously intentional.

Alan walked out with a black gold dagger. He looked at his crazy appearance, “You seem to have

encountered something troublesome. I wonder if there's anything I can help with?”

There weren't a lot of reasons for this rugged man to look helpless.

Even the strongest warrior could be seduced by a beautiful woman.

They were both men and similar, Alan could see through him. An outsider could see things more

clearly. He could give a few suggestions.

But Dave obviously didn’t want him to think he even couldn't deal with a woman. He opened his

mouth to refuse, but he didn’t evade and made a call in front of him. He first informed a phone

number, “Check it for me. The identity, name, and current location of this number owner.”

Although she was a woman, she was still a stranger. Maybe she was a bad person, such as an

international human trafficker. It was better to be cautious. Although his woman didn't look

devastatingly beautiful, she was a person who was easy to be deceived in a glance. Otherwise, he

would be abducted her to bed that easily.

It was easy for Ivy to check this. She could hack into any system she wanted to get information she

wanted without leaving any traces.

However, Alan was laughing at the side.

Dave was already depressed, but he was even more upset when he laughed like that, “What are you

laughing at?”

Alan slowly let go of his smile, but the corners of his lips still kept an upward arc, “It takes time to

ask someone to check. It's better to just ask me.”

"What do you mean?”

A white light flashed across the air, and a vine tree in front of the window immediately dropped a

branch that larger than a thumb, “This dagger should be some years old. I don't expect you to have

a hobby of collecting antiques. Name the price, I'll buy it.”

“Not for sale. But if one day we're not enemies, yet friends. I can send it to you. But Alan Hoyle, for

you starting a conversation at this moment, you're doing this a little on purpose.”

“It's nothing. It's just that the owner of the number you're looking for is close to me,” Alan said

lightly.

But Dave was obviously impatient, “Who is she to you?”

“Shouldn't you also tell me what happened?”

They had already talked until this point. Dave no longer concealed it, so he told him

“I see.” Most of the coincidences in this world were man-made, but this time, it was truly a

coincidence. Alan smiled and dialed another number, “Ada, the woman next to you is your sister-n-

law's friend. Take care of her.”

Dave was slightly surprised. She was actually the Hoyle's second young lady.

After several days of acupuncture and massage, Olive's left arm got better. Only three days ago, she

had a strange feeling. She always felt that a pair of eyes were peeping at her from behind, but every

time she turned to look, things were normal again. She was surrounded by pedestrians who were in

hurried or leisure, nobody was suspicious.

It wasn't impossible that it could be a bodyguard sent by Alan secretly. But as the feeling of being

peeped became stronger and stronger, she felt it was a greater possibility that it was someone else.

Alan's bodyguard was like air. He could be a passerby, but he would never let you find him.

But this person was different. His existence which he was following couldn't be ignored. She didn't

know whether he was deliberately revealing his flaw or he didn’t master tracking skills. In short, her

sensitivity had caught the unusualness in the air.

She mentioned in to Alan, but he just casually smiled and said that the person was his acquaintance.

She didn't need to bother and he would deal with it.

He had said so, so she didn't worry about it anymore. After all, he was a person who had to get rid

of any dangers outside.

And this year, the news that a massive meteor shower would fall from the sky in the middle of the

night of May had already circulated on the internet. It was rumored that it was the largest meteor

shower in the past 300 years.

It was said that if you make a sincere wish under a meteor shower, your wish could come true.

Although it was a bit superstitious, it didn’t stop young men and women from pursuing romance.

Hot posts had even appeared on the internet—single men and women could find their lovers as

they watched the meteor shower together.

Olive suddenly became interested too. She quietly greeted her mother in the kitchen early in the

morning.

Mrs. Steele smiled and glared at her, “Go on to your date. Do you still need to report to me?”

Olive giggled at her mother's side, “If we don't come home at night, I'm afraid you'll worry.”

“I know. The house is lively now, but it'll short of you two young people who live in your own two-

people world. Go and have fun. I see you two are pretty tired recently, so go to relax yourselves

well.” Mrs. Steele was very understanding. A smile appeared on her face. Her daughter and son-in-

law had great relationship. She was very happy to see it.

When people were old, they really didn't ask for much. It was enough to watch their children had

lovers and finally got married and lived happily.

On the way to work, Olive gently put her head on Alan's shoulder who was driving, and her hand

reached out to fiddle with the hanging pendant. It was a knot for peace that she knitted for him.

There was also crystal pendant of a family of three.

“Mr. Hoyle, let's have a date tonight,” she said softly.

Alan's heart moved a little, “Where do you want to go?”

“I'll arrange that.”

“You'll arrange?” Alan asked in curious.

"Yeah. But you have to send Peng to me at 4:30 in the afternoon. Also, it's better for you to finish

tomorrow morning's work in advance. I'll call you at 6.”

“You'll even prepare in advance?” Alan laughed. “It seems that there will be something interesting

tonight. I'm looking forward to it.”

“Don't have too much expectation, or you'll be disappointed,” she warned him first.
