Chapter 44: It Has Been Planned
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Alan Hoyle smiled softly. "You do not have to be so nervous. Though
I'm not a gentleman, I have a special feeling about you. I do not want
to hurt you. If you do not want to, I will not do anything to you.â
In the dark, they could not see each other's faces. Olive gradually
removed the coldness and strangeness on her face, quietly got close to
his chest, greedily breathing his unique male scent, such as camphora
with a light tobacco flavor.
How nice it will be if I can stay a little longer like this. She thought.
âOlive, do you know a place called Hehuatang?
Olive was slightly stunned. "There is one in the western suburbs of
Jiangcheng University. I do not know if that is one you are talking
about."
âHave you been there?â
"Of course, there is a large lotus pond, where the scenery is particularly
beautiful when the lotus bloom. When the lotus seeds are ripe, I with
my classmates often went there to steal lotus seeds to eat. Once, I did
not sit firmly on the boat and fell into the water, and I hid myself under
the lotus leaves for a long time, which made my classmates so scared.â
She said a lot. She didn't avoid to answer him, even asked him. "Why
Mr. Hoyle suddenly asked me about it? Does that place mean anything
to you? *
âI was diddled out of one of the most important things there. It did
mean a lot for me.â
She couldn't see his face but she could feel the penetration power in
his eyes. Her heart suddenly shivered. " Mr. Hoyle is such a smart man,
but still had been deceived? What a surprise. *
âWhat about you? Have you ever been deceived, or have you ever
deceived people? "
He asked so casually, but Olive felt he pressed on her.
Alan Hoyle, why are you doing this?
You have a fiancée. You will be married next spring. Your good news has
already been spread throughout the world. She is so beautiful, capable
and has a good family background. She can help your career and let
the Hoyles stand more stable.
Even if I tell you, I am the girl you are looking for, is there something
changing? Your mother does not like me...
âWhy are not you talking?â
He interrupted her thoughts. She bitterly smiled. "What can I say? We
all will be deceived or say some lies in our lives. We are deceived, then
we can learn to grow up. Also lies can be good. I dare not say that I'm
totally a good person, and I'm always cautious about others, but I have
never meant to hurt others.â
âReally?â He said slightly, as if he was thinking about something, but
eventually released her. "Go. "
Olive froze. Though her body was relaxed, a feeling of emptiness raised
in her heart. "Where? "
âDo you really want to sit here in the cool wind and catch a cold the
next day? Then my sin will be heavy."
Did he finally come back to his conscience?
By the starlight, Olive followed his footsteps, along the soft beach,
didnât not know where to go.
He stopped. There was no sign of that so Olive could not stop herself
and hit him on his strong back.
Fortunately, he turned back in time to hold her back, so she didn't fall
down. But she could not endure the pain, letting out a muffled groan
and rubbing her aching nose.
âAre you all right?â He asked.
âI'm fine.â She did not want to appear a delicate look in front of him,
but her nose was really hurt. His back didn't seem to be made up by
meat, it was like a stone. Olive rubbed her nose and thought.
A beam of light suddenly lit up.
She squinted for a long time to get used to it and found it was from a
portable charging lamp.
He took her to the back of these stones, and a tent had been set up
there.
Just one tent.
Alan stooped into the tent, then popped his head out. "What are you
doing? Come in. "
Olive hesitated. A single tent, single man and woman, how to spend the
night?
Thinking of it, she felt angry. This man clearly planned this.
Alan seems to have read her mind. "Do not worry, I am not going to eat
you. I heard there are some snakes on this island. They swallow people
with their bones.â
Knowing that he tried to scare her, Olive still felt her flesh creep, as if
she had heard the sound of a scarlet snake rustling, and felt that a huge
blood mouth was waiting for a chance in some dark place. She was so
afraid that her goose bumps almost fell on the ground.
Compared to the creepy cold-blooded crawler, the man in front of her
made her a little more comfortable.
