Chapter 123
Rise of the Crusader
123 Psychic Domain II
In less than a minute after the purple smoke filled the tubes, the students who were inside all fell unconscious.
Gus was no exception.
Atticus, Leilani, and Lucien stared at one another before shifting their eyes back to the tubes. While there was excitement on their faces, concern existed as well.
Meanwhile, each of the students in the tube had embarked on a journey of their own.
Sylvia stood on top of a cliff, with her usual attire on, but her eyes scanned through the surrounding. A perplexed look appeared on her face and just as she was about to move from where she was, she heard the sound of footsteps behind her.
Without delay, Sylvia turned around.
As she saw the person who had just appeared, her eyes widened and her mouth opened slightly.
The following word then left her lips.
âBrother,â Sylvia muttered with disbelief evident in her voice.
.....
A young man with long black hair was tied into a loose ponytail. He was wearing a Chinese kimono with large sleeves, and he wore a black forehead protector.
He had a shiny black sword by his side and his eyes were violet with concentric circles that spread over his eyeball.
Even though Sylvia had yet to reveal her full appearance as the bandages were always wrapped around her, if she were to ever get rid of the bandages, she and the young frontman had a very striking resemblance.
The man was in fact Sylviaâs elder brother, Waylon.
And when Sylvia saw Waylon standing in front of her, she clenched her hand into tight fists. Her brows were lowered and pulled together as she stared at the young man in front of her.
Waylon, however, sneered when he saw the look on his sisterâs face. âThat isnât how to greet your elder brother, Sylvia.â He said.
âYouâre not my brother!â Sylvia replied immediately.
âAfter so many years, little sister, youâre still holding on to that grudge... Didnât mother tell you keeping a grudge is a terrible thing to do?â With mockery on his face, Waylon said.
âI, for one, know better, but I canât say the same thing about you. But, it isnât like I can blame you, youâre a disappointment after all.â
âWe will see who is a disappointment!â Sylvia blurted, pulling out the sword beside her, and then she swung it towards Waylon.
Waylon reacted quickly, almost as though he knew that Sylvia was going to launch an attack on him. He moved to the left, averting the sword strike.
However, he had only just moved to the left when he felt a kick coming toward his face.
The incoming attack didnât cause Waylon to be alarmed or troubled, instead, he appeared to be even more relaxed. And just as the kick was to land on his face, he suddenly stretched his hand, grabbing Sylviaâs ankle.
Using her ankle as support, he bent her body to the other side and slammed her to the ground.
Bang!
While Waylon had made the move so causal, the damage that was contained in it was disastrous.
Sylviaâs body bent in an arch form and blood spurt out of her mouth. Before she could even readjust, she saw Waylon raising his leg, about to stomp her.
Thud!
âHahaha! Lucky you,â Waylon muttered as he stared at Sylvia, who was able to get away from being crushed.
Sylvia breathed in and out, trying to regain her composure. Within a few seconds, she was able to be able to pull herself together, and quickly, she assumed a battle stance.
The bandages on both sides of her face were loosened and Sylviaâs appearance was in revealed. She glared at Waylon with her violet eyes that had concentric circles spread around her eyeballs.
As Sylvia loosened the bandages, the clouds shrouded quickly, and lightning began to move around them.
âCome on, sis...â Walton said as he saw the thundercloud that had just appeared.
He then stared at his younger sister, âHow many times do I have to tell you or how many times do I have to beat you up before you realize that youâre not my match.â
âYou were never in the past, nor the present, and definitely not in the future.â
Sylvia only became more furious when she heard Waylon. She clawed her finger deep into her palm and after a few seconds, she spoke.
âKirin.â
While it was just a single word that left Sylviaâs lips, the change that it caused in the atmosphere was massive.
A giant with a resemblance to a dragon appeared in the sky. Apart from an air of supremacy excluding from the giant, lightning wrapped itself around its body.
Waylon stared at the giant in the sky, with his brows knitted. He, however, soon moved his gaze to Sylvia, seeing how she tightened her grip on the sword in her hand, and a smirk appeared on him.
âDie!!!â
With that said, bolts of lightning were sent by the giant to Waylon. And as the lightning struck out, Sylvia mustered all the strength she had and dashed at Waylon.
There was determination in her eyes, and killing intent brimming out of her body. Sylvia was going completely out, and to her, nothing else mattered apart from killing the young man in front of her.
Waylon sensed the resolve in Sylvia, on one hand, was the lightning that was coming towards him, and on the other was Sylvia.
He placed his hand on the sword beside him, and just when he seemed to be about to unsheathe it, he suddenly paused.
âHehe!â A chuckle suddenly escaped Waylonâs lips.
The chuckle caught Sylvia by surprise, but she continued to advance forward. She was about to slash her sword at Waylon when he appeared in front of her.
Waylon grabbed onto the sword as though it were nothing. He then smirked, and as Sylvia saw the look on his face, she slowly turned towards his other hand.
âY-â
Before Sylvia could get the rest of the words out of her mouth, a fist wrapped with lightning struck her right chest at full force.
With blood then oozing out of her mouth, Sylvia staggered a few steps backward. She stared at Waylon with shock and disbelief written all over her face.
The lightning strike which she had just received was the same one she summoned. And it didnât take a genius to figure out that Waylon had used her attack against her.
Waylon simply didnât just possess the same eye that Sylvia had, he was also capable of pulling the same stunts that she was capable of. Sylvia was aware of this, but she didnât expect him to be able to overturn the lightning power.
The lightning was the power that were passed over to them from generation.
While Sylvia was able to displace an objectâs position, she couldnât alter the supernatural location. It was why she was extremely shocked that Waylon had just controlled the lightning movement and used it against her.
âLittle sister,â Taking a step forward, Waylon appeared in front of the trembling Sylvia.
He seized her from head to toe and a disgusted look emerged on his face. âI told you, didnât I, youâre not my match.â
âNot in the past, present, or even future.â
Sylvia wanted to retort to her brother, but the words werenât just coming. The blow she suffered severely damaged her internal organ, and each time she opened her mouth to speak, blood seeped out of her mouth.
Sylvia was already standing on the edge of the cliff and with a light push from Waylon, she was brought down.
Waylon watched his sister until he was no longer able to see her. He then picked up her sword that was on the floor and vanished from the surrounding.
Meanwhile, the instant Sylvia fell from the cliff, the tube she was in the psychic domain opened, and she collapsed outside.
The three instructors couldnât help but glance at one another after Sylviaâs defeat. They stared at Jackson, Mason, and Naomi who were also out of their tube, and they took a deep breath.
It wasnât even up to a minute after, and another tube opened and someone else dropped to the floor.
The person was none other than Levi.
âThis is bad,â Leilani muttered as she stared at Levi.
A nod came from Atticus and Lucien when they heard Leilani. The three of them gulped hard and then shifted their gaze to the remaining students in the tubes with a rather very hopeful gaze.
...
As Sylvia and the others embarked on journeys of their own, Aiden took his own as well.
In a bleak, cold, and completely dark room, Aiden sat on the floor cross-legged. The room was somber and quiet and even though darkness engulfed Aiden, he didnât freak out nor panic, instead, he appeared to be relieved.
Suddenly, a voice echoed in the room.
âAiden!â
It mumbled Aidenâs name, and even though Aiden heard his name loud and clear, he acted as though he didnât hear the call.
While most people would find it terrifying to be in this sort of dark room, Aiden found absolute delight in here. He felt at peace here and considered the darkness to be his only ally.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
âAiden!â
The voice echoed again, but this time around it was colder.
