Chapter 61
Rise of the Crusader
61 Reward
As Raphael, Aliyah, and Dwayne arrived at the academy, they headed straight to the student administration block immediately.
With one of them then pushing the door of the room which they were told to report to after completing Kaylaâs mission, the three of them stepped into the room.
There was currently a discussion going on between a middle-aged woman and a youth of average height inside the room when Raphael, Aliyah, and Dwayne entered. However, as the woman saw the trio, she waved her hand at the youth immediately.
âOkay bossâ The youth replied to the woman with a slight bow and then walked out of the room.
On his way out, he didnât glance at the trio in front, and instead kept a straight face the whole time.
âDwayne, Aliyah, and Raphael, isnât it?â A few seconds after the youth left the room, the woman took a file among the many which were on her desk, and then spoke in a decisive tone.
There was no response from neither Raphael, Aliyah, or Dwayne when they heard the woman, and instead, they continued to stare at her.
While the woman in front of them wasnât, in fact, very beautiful, the figure which she possessed made up for perhaps any flaw she had. She was well-developed in both her bosom and buttocks with then very long black hair and violet eyes.
The woman was putting on a black and white suit with a tiny fist logo on the black suit she was on, which in the academy signified that she was of a very high rank. And as she stared at Raphael, Aliyah, and Dwayne, a smile could be seen on her face.
.....
âWe have received the complete payment from Kayla, therefore, the Winchester mission you were assigned to can be considered completed.â The woman said.
âThe rewards points for completing the mission will also be transferred to shortly, but I would say you shouldnât get your hopes high since the mission itself is merely a D-rank mission.â
The woman had just spoken finished when a notification sound rang out from the trio wristwatch. Raphael, Aliyah, and Dwayne stared at the woman when they heard the notification, before then tapping their wristwatch.
âCongratulations on successfully completing the mission! Thirty thousand points have been deposited into your student wallets... Have a splendid day
As Raphael read the message on his screen, his eyebrows furrowed, and when he glanced at Dwayne and Aliyah, both of them had the same expression he had on their faces.
âI know what youâre thinking,â The woman paused, âThe academy is a cheerful giver. I find it displeasing that they would offer that ridiculous amount for a D-Rank mission, if it were left to me, I would have offered five thousand or even lower than that.â
The woman shook her head, seemingly displeased by the academyâs good nature. âAnyway, thatâs going to be all for now. You can return back to your dormitory.â She said, and then opened one of the files on the desk.
Raphael glanced at the woman for a few seconds, before he turned and then headed to the door. Those five digits the academy offered might be held to a high standard for some of the students in the academy, but to Raphael, it felt like peanuts.
What could he possibly buy with those points, a bolt, screwdriver, or what, Raphael couldnât help but wonder?
Aliyah, Raphael, and Dwayne were about to step out when the middle-aged womanâs voice rang out. âAnd, as for you, Raphael, beware of the people you bring in your circle. In this place, it is a trade-off, no one would grant you favor without wanting something in return.â
Raphaelâs mouth opened slightly when he heard the woman, he wanted to speak, but suddenly shook his head. âThanks for the warning, but Iâm well aware of that.â After a few seconds, Raphael responded.
With that then said, Raphael walked out of the room.
In the room after Raphael, Aliyah, and Dwayne had left, the woman suddenly burst into laughter. âHahahahaha!! Indeed, the apple doesnât fall far from the tree.â She exclaimed.
KNOCK!
As the woman heard the door knock, the smile which was on her face vanished immediately, and it was instead replaced by a very grim look. Her eyes flashed with killing intent, and it was impossible to believe that this woman was capable of even smiling.
The person who walked into the room was a student, and as he saw the look on the womanâs face, he gasped heavily.
âY-You... You said you wanted to see me.â
Meanwhile, after Raphael, Aliyah, and Dwayne left the administration block, they went their separate ways.
There only existed a partnership relationship between and that was even when they were out of the academy.
It took a few minutes, and Raphael was in front of his room door. He pushed the door open and saw Devon, Aiden, Bane, and Camille all in the living room.
The four of them had that exhausted look on their faces, and for the first time, no one was even playing video games.
Raphael raised an eyebrow when he saw the four of them, he then recalled that it wasnât only his team that was assigned a mission, the others were also sent on missions. Heaving a deep breath, Raphael glanced at his room, then back at the four in the living room.
âDid something happen in the mission you were sent on?â Raphael asked.
While he spoke in a rather curious tone, the expression which he had on his face said otherwise. And when the four of them turned towards him, Raphael folded his hands across his chest.
âThat damn mission!!!!â Aiden exclaimed, âWe were told to redirect a missile which was launched by our client rivals back to the rivalâs base.â
âI know it sounds fun, but itâs not entertaining in any way. Who launches twenty missiles simultaneously? Perhaps if I was able to fly then it wouldnât be difficult, but I had to create portals in midair, then create another one towards where the missiles were heading towards.
Aiden shook his as he spoke, and had a deep frown on his face.
âCreating a portal isnât a big deal, but creating many, especially in midair, and then maintaining it there to be able to handle the force of the missile is something. Any slight mishap and Itâs over!!!!â
Aiden continued to lament on the mission he was assigned for a few minutes before Raphael then spoke. âBut you were able to complete the mission, right?â
âOf course, I did... I wouldnât be my motherâs favorite child if the mission wasnât a success.â Aiden responded.
âHa!â
When Devon and Bane heard Aiden, the both of them chuckled. And a second after, Bane wasnât able to keep it to just a chuckle, and he burst into laughter.
âHahaha!!! Come on, no one is going to believe this story of yours, regardless of how many times you say it.â Bane said.
Bane turned towards Raphael, âHeâs not lying about the missiles, but the only reason why the mission was a success was because of Elisa.â
Aidenâs eyes bulged when he heard Bane, he placed his leg on top of the other, and then faced the other side of the room.
âIf you had come a bit sooner, then you would have witnessed a spectacle that occurred in here.â
âAiden made a blunder.â
âOne of the portals that intercepted the missile didnât appear at the rivalâs camp, but instead it emerged in front of the clientâs camp.â Bane paused, âAs soon as the portal appeared, a missile flew out of it, and if it hadnât been for Elisa who immediately made a move on the missile, it would have crashed into the client territory.â
Rachaelâs mouth opened slightly, he stared at Devon, and then back at Bane.
âSo you see, why the mission wouldnât have been a success if it wasnât for Elisa. One of the members of the studentâs council just finished screaming at Aiden, when you came in.ân/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
âScrew the studentâs council!â Aiden exclaimed. âWasnât it just one little mistake, and besides I canât believe that I had to go through all that to be rewarded with thirty thousand points!â
âThirty thousand points, for crying out loud... They should in fact all go to hell.â Bane stated with a frown on his face.
Aiden had just spoken when a creak suddenly sounded from the door. A second after, the door was pushed open, and a woman walked into the room.
âOh really? The studentâs council should go to hell,â
As Camille, Devon, Aiden, and Bane saw the woman who had just walked in, they sat upright, and as for Aiden, his eyes twitched and his body shook.
Though the woman was of petite stature and had an adolescent face, when Aiden came in contact with her emerald green eyes, beads of sweat appeared on his forehead.
âWhy donât you repeat those words, now that Iâm here, Aiden!â
