Chapter 99
Rise of the Crusader
99 Vertigo I
The following morning, the first-year elite division students received a notification, and they immediately gathered at the location given.
Raphael, Aliyah, and Dwayne were in a meeting room with the three of them eyes fixed on the long rectangular table. They moved their gaze from the table to the people inside the room.
âJuliana, thatâs enough.â Victor sneered, âThis is a complete waste of time. They donât have to do anything, itâs already annoying that we are being told to take care of this mission with them as it is.â Victor said.
Juliana was a woman nearing her twenties with black hair and a slender frame.
When she heard Victor, she shook her head at him and then said, âI also think the same, Victor. But, we have no other choice than to take them with us.â
âFor some reason, the academy thinks that we canât get the job done, and we will be needing this pesky little creature from the elite division to help with it.â There was a mockery evident on Julianaâs face as she spoke.
Meanwhile, the frown on Victorâs face only widened. He glared at the three people in front of them for a few seconds before saying.
âI donât know how you handle tasks in your division, but in the bandit division, you do as I tell you to. If I ask you to move you move, if I say crawl, you do what? You crawl, and if I ask you to harm yourself, you donât hesitate.â
âAm I making myself clear?!â Victor raised his voice and when he saw the expression on Raphael, Aliyah, and Dwayneâs faces, he sneered and then walked out of the room.
.....
Juliana also glared at the three of them before leaving the meeting room, and Enzo followed behind her.
A second after the team from the banditâs division left the meeting room, Aliyah, and Dwayne moved. As for Raphael, his eyes were glued to the blueprint that was on the table, and it was only after a while that he began walking towards the exit door.
They all headed to the alley, and once they all arrived there, the transportation device was already installed for them. And one after the other, the six of them were transported out of the academy.
...
In one of the undeveloped communities, a group of muscular men was moving in and out of the old factory that existed in the community.
The factory was also heavily guarded by full-armed individuals. They had eyes all over the place and because of the activities that were being done in the factory, they prohibited dwelling of any kind besides the factory.
A few efforts were made to resist the people working in the factory, but the town members stood no chance of dealing with a group of metahumans. They had no choice but to submit to them, and little by little, the whole community soon began theirs.
âWe arenât too late.â A few meters away from the old factory, Victor and the other team members stood on top of a building.
Victor stared at the men moving in and out of the factory and said, âThey are going to be making the shipment any time soon, we have to be fast.â
âThere will be a change of plan.â Victor said, âEnzo, Iâm going to need you to handle the cargo that is to be delivered, and also deal with that mission that we spoke on.â
âAnd Juliana, your mission is still the same. You have to figure out how many people are both in and out of the factory, and I will take care of the rest.â
Juliana nodded her head when she heard Victor, she was about to move when Victorâs voice rang out.
âRemember, no death must occur. Much to my disappointment, the academy doesnât want blood spilling on the ground in this mission.â Victor blurted. âIf any fatality is to occur, the mission might as well be considered failed.â
There was a bit of unhappiness on Julianaâs face when she heard the no-killing part, but after receiving the go-ahead message from Victor, she moved.
âAs for the three of you, youâre not to move from here. Itâs our mission, and we wonât be needing your help with it.â Victor exclaimed, âI say you watch and learn how the best division in the academy operates.â
With that said, Victor and Enzo disappeared from the building.
Throughout the entire time, Raphael had his eyes fixed on Enzo. He couldnât help but be fascinated by the fact that a few days ago he had watched as Enzo was executed, and now he was on his feet like nothing happened to him in the first place.
âAstoundingâ Raphael muttered.
Meanwhile, Dwayne raised an eyebrow when he saw that Raphael and Aliyah didnât intend to leave the building. He stared at the both of them for a while before saying.
âAre we just going to let them deal with it? The academy wonât be pleased with this.â
There was no response from either Raphael or Aliyah when they heard Dwayne. It was only after that a few seconds that Raphael responded by shrugging his shoulders.
âThey clearly said they donât need our help, so why should I meddle in their business? That just makes me look desperate, if they can take care of it, then let them do it.â Raphael said.
âThe academy wouldnât have asked us to join them if they believed they could handle it,â Dwayne responded. âThis is the academy instruction, and Iâm not going to disobey them.â
âAre the both of you coming or not?â
Dwayne asked, and as they were no response from either Raphael or Aliyah, he left the building.
Followed by Dwayneâs movement was a long hiss from Gus. Raphael chuckled when Gus spoke, he then stared in the direction that Dwayne was heading before shaking his head.
âI donât think busy-body is the right word to use here, Gus,â Raphael replied and as Gus let out a hiss, he took a deep breath.
âShhh!!! Letâs watch the show. I have heard a couple of things about the bandit division, and Iâm really curious about how they work.â Raphael said, with his hands folded across his chest, and his eyes fixed on the factory in front.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Once Victor was informed about the number of people who were in the factory by Juliana, he made his move immediately.
With a dual pistol in his hand, Victor was all over the place. He was both quick, and decisive, and because the academy had insisted that they didnât want any fatality in this mission, Victor simply left his target unconscious.
The bullets he fired acted as a tranquilizer that, when it came into contact with any part of his targetâs body, it rendered them unconscious instantly.
While Victor was pompous, there was no denying that the young man did have the power to back it up. His skills and accuracy were something that Raphael found applauding.
âHe has gotten even stronger, not bad,â Raphael muttered.
Raphael had seen Victor fight before, and as he saw the movements and skills that Victor was displaying at the moment, he was able to tell the difference.
Raphael continued to watch Victor, and it was only after Victor went into the old factory that he moved his gaze away from him. Raphael then stared at the back of the factory and his mouth opened slightly.
âHmm...â
He mumbled, seemingly confused at the scene that was occurring at the factory.
It wasnât just Raphael who was confused, but even the people who were at the back of the factory were also very baffled about what was happening.
And before they could even understand it, they had all stumbled to the ground. They were no sign of them being attacked, it was as though they had fallen asleep instead.
A second after all of them were on the ground, a woman appeared. The woman was Juliana, and as she stared at the people on the ground, her lips curved inwardly. She then sneered and vanished from the surrounding.
Meanwhile, Raphaelâs hand was placed on his chin, âThis is strange? Seems like multitasking, but rather on an advanced level.â Raphael said.
Raphael was oblivious to the fact that a light smile appeared on the face of the woman who was beside him. The smile had appeared when he analyzed what Julianaâs powers might be.
Hiss!
As Gus let out a hiss, Raphael nodded his head several times. âYes, Dwayne isnât so bad, and to be honest, Victorâs accuracy isnât that much better than his.â
Raphael said as he stared at Dwayne, who was using what was called the flechette tranquilizer on the people in the surrounding. Similar to Victor, every shot that Dwayne fired landed on the target.
Some might even say that Dwayneâs accuracy was better than Victorâs, but Raphael was certain that it was false. When compared to Victor, Dwayne was still lacking a little.
âWe have to go.â Suddenly, Aliyahâs voice rang out.
Raphael stared at Aliyah with his eyebrow raised, and Aliyah said, âThe cops are here.â
