Chapter 5

5. Sealed Memorial

[BL] Sins Washed in the Waterfall

Liam forgot everything.

Even his identity.

His memories were a blur, a fog of nothingness.

But one thing remained clear—the face of the boy in front of him.

The boy with eyes as beautiful as jewels.

He stood up quickly, despite the doctors’ attempts to stop him, and scrambled onto Elliot’s bed.

Trembling, his tiny hands clutched at Elliot’s body as if he feared the boy might disappear.

Tears and snot stained his face, mixing with a raw, desperate need to hold onto something, anything, that could anchor him in his fractured world.

He clung to Elliot and cried, calling out his name like a lifeline.

“Elliot…”

He remembered this boy's name, but he couldn’t remember his own one.

Elliot’s chest shifted beneath him, and he felt the boy’s weight shift.

The soft breath on his skin, the trembling fingers reaching for him—it all stirred something deep within him.

He opened his eyes slowly, blinking against the light.

He wasn't sure what had woken him, but something felt different, something was missing.

The doctors had feared the worst—that Elliot might be overwhelmed, that panic would take hold.

But as they watched, Elliot didn't thrash or scream.

Instead, he slowly blinked awake.

His gaze was unfocused at first, wandering, searching, until it landed on the sunlight streaming in through the window.

The doctors froze, noticing his face.

Elliot was... an exceptional child.

Even without knowing his past, they could tell.

His delicate features were striking, so striking that if they didn’t know better, they might have mistaken him for a girl.

But it wasn’t just his beauty—it was his eyes.

They weren’t quite right.

His irises were missing entirely, replaced by smooth, pale white.

They looked like empty gems, pale and shimmering faintly.

The doctors’ hearts sank.

The accident.

The moment the waterfall had plunged them into darkness.

Elliot had lost his vision, and now he could only see the lightest places, the faintest flashes of brightness.

Elliot raised his hand slowly, like he was reaching for something he couldn’t see.

His fingers brushed over Liam’s face, wet with the remnants of tears.

It was strange—he didn’t remember Liam.

Or anything at all, really.

But as he touched the boy’s face, as if instinctually, he pressed a soft kiss to Liam's nose.

A sense of calm washed over them both. Even in this haze, Elliot couldn’t forget the boy’s name.

Liam.

Though his memory was lost, some things never truly faded.

The doctors, seeing that both boys were calm, slowly left the room, explaining the situation to the two children in simple terms.

They were safe now, but everything beyond that was still a blur.

_

Liam, still shaken but now with more strength, was taken by the doctors to see the village.

His legs were strong enough to walk, and he needed to stretch his body, but his mind remained clouded. He was trying to come to terms with everything he couldn’t remember.

Elliot, on the other hand, remained in the bed.

Weak, still fragile, he stayed there, letting his body heal.

POV - Elliot:

It didn’t matter whether his eyes were open or closed.

It felt the same either way.

Darkness.

Or light.

He couldn’t tell.

Questions kept rattling around in his mind, but none of them had answers.

Who was he?

What was his name again?

Elliot.

That was right.

He tried to cling to that, but everything else was out of reach.

Who was that little boy?

Liam... yes, Liam.

But what was their connection?

He hesitated for a moment.

Am I blind?

He didn’t want to believe it, but... it felt like the only explanation.

His memories were gone, and now, so was his sight.

What were his hobbies? What did he do before this?

Had he always been blind?

He felt his head spin with confusion, the absence of answers pressing down on him like a heavy weight.

Just as he was lost in his thoughts, something shifted in the room.

The light changed slightly, and then... a presence beside him.

Someone had entered.

Elliot instinctively turned his head in that direction, straining for any sense of clarity.

His breath hitched for a second, but the air around him felt calm.

Who was this?

He reached out again, seeking the warmth, the presence that stood near him.

But he couldn’t see them.

“Liam...?” he whispered, his voice fragile but full of longing.

But that person wasn't Liam...
