Eleven-This isn’t how I thought this day would go

Jax said he has two separate cameras showing them moving south and east out of town. Rafe spun his head in Jax’s direction saying “Southeast? That puts them on a dead heading in our direction. Sweetwater is about 150 miles Northwest of us Shit! Rafe says “Damon? Get trackers to our Northwest border and do recon up to 20 meters out..no more than that..and only in twos and threes. Never alone. Arm up as if we are in a fight with humans, too. We just might be”

Rafe makes it to their bedroom and stripping to his boxers. He slides under the covers, just getting stretched out and bam…sparks all over his chest and abdomen as he has his very own little pixie blanket. He just chuckles and tugs the sheet and comforter over them and wraps her in his arms.

Almost immediately, his eyes are closing. Several hours later, Rafe’s eyes fly open when a booming voice comes through the link “ALPHA “ He immediately springs into action. He runs out the back door and shifts as he jumps to land on all fours. He said “Alpha inbound. Location “ and a voice comes back “Northwest border” he says “Details” the same voice says “we lost a young patrol” “Damn it! Two minutes out”

Rafe arrived on scene..immediately feeling the tear in his heart from losing pack. He looks at the wolf and asks if that is Nathan and the other man nods. Just then, Damon runs up. Rafe yells “Where were you?” Damon tells him the team were out running perimeter checks 20 meters out, Rafe apologizes then turns to the sergeant on duty and tells him he wants a full report now!

The sergeant says “We split patrol, as per your earlier order and by the time we got to Nathan after his distress call, it was too late. We didn’t see anyone. We didn’t even hear anyone. I don’t know what happened, Alpha. I just don’t know” and he broke down in tears. Rafe hugged the man to him and said don’t worry. They will figure it out. He looked at Tom and asked “who told you my orders had changed?” Tom replied “Head Warrior Duncan, sir” Rafe linked Gavin “Gavin, grab four elites and arrest Head Warrior Duncan. Time to start cleaning house!”

Just as Rafe made it back to the packhouse Gavin links him with the news Duncan is missing.. At the same time the guard going down to the cells for shift change linked Rafe. The guard says “The guard on duty is unconscious, Alpha..and the prisoners are missing.” Rafe let out a roar that shook the windows and yelled through the link “Gavin…LUNA NOW!!!” And he took off for the jail calling Jax on the way.

They meet up at the cell doors and descend downstairs. Rafe checks the guard and alert the doctor he is needed. They look around and try to find any scents that don’t belong. Jax is accessing security footage but it’s been wiped. Whoever it was covered their tracks. It wasn’t going to be easy.

Everyone is back in the office brainstorming. Just as Rafe is about to speak, the door opens with Andrea stumbling over dragging the throw off the foot of their bed and climbs into his lap snuggling under the throw and mumbles you left me and falls asleep. They all had an awww moment and Rafe said.. “Here’s what we know. Hellier wants our pack. They want to kill me. And take Andrea. Edward and his daughter are traitors. My money’s on good old Duncan, as well. Damn it! We have two many players. I say as soon as our trackers get back to us with information, we start taking them out. One way or another. Pack meeting in the morning right after breakfast! Let’s get some sleep with what’s left of the night.

When Rafe and Andrea rolled out of bed, he told her everything that has happened since last night. She wants to go see Nathan’s family now..before breakfast. And his heart swelled with pride. She is the perfect Luna.

They spent an hour with Nathan’s family and his Luna promised to teach Nathan’s to dance. She knew just how to soothe their hearts and didn’t hesitate. He looked at her and stopped their walk. He pulled her to him and planted his lips on hers. She pulled back..grinning and said “I love you!”

And he smiled so big his eyes lit up. He grabbed her and swung her around saying “I love you! Thank you! Thank you! I love you so much! I love your eyes. I love your smile and the way your nose crinkles when you laugh. I love your little moans and how you squeak when I pinch your ass. And Oh Goddess! I love your moans! I love you!”

She giggles and says “you said moans twice” he smirks and says it’s worth a second mention. They walked into the dining hall hand in hand still smiling like fools. Andrea sees Madisyn and asks if she wants to go with her to the warehouse because mirrors are being installed. Rafe looks up sharply and says No. Andrea asks what he means. He says it’s a simple word, really. Two letters. It means NO. As in, no way. Not happening. You aren’t leaving this house. And that’s how the fight started….

Rafe races after Andrea out into the hallway and he’s struggling to keep up. Thinking damn she’s fast! And he catches her right at the door to their room.. she tries to slam it in his face but he’s faster..and thankfully stronger. She starts throwing things at him.

First it was a shoe..she winced when it hit the wall. She wanted to hit him. Not hurt him. So she picked up a throw pillow and whizzed it at his face. He caught it. Of course he did! He looks at her and said “Really? Baby, listen. It’s too dangerous for you out there. If anything happened to you, I would lose my mind. I would burn this world to the ground. We know your father is after me to get to you. Please,please stay here. I can send someone to the warehouse for the installers.”

She said “Okay. Your logic is sound but if you ever try to issue an unequivocal order to me again I will break your pretty nose. You can ask. You can suggest. You cannot demand or dictate. I’m a pixie. We rebel. You could end up with pink dye in place of your shampoo. Think about that!” And she walks out the door. He follows her out saying “this isn’t how I thought this day would go.
