Twenty-Eight-Epilogue

Ariadne waddles down the stairs to yell at Rafe for leaving the toilet seat up…again. She could just yell at him in the link. Or a text message. Or even a phone call. But it’s more satisfying to do it in his face. And she’s tired. And hungry! And fat..so fucking fat. Rafe opens the office door before she reaches for it, and says “ you are not fat, my moonbeam!”

And she mumbles stupid mindlink is broken..my powers are wonky..I can’t get comfortable anymore and OH MY GODDESS! I just pissed all over myself! So my bladder is broken! The baby broke my bladder! And she looked over at all four men holding their sides. Laughing their asses off. And she says “I hate you! I hate all of you!” And bursts into tears.

Rafe wraps her in his arms and walks out the door. She says “hey! Where are we going?” He says “the hospital. Your water broke.” She said “how do you know that?” He said “because you didn’t pee your pants and I mindlinked Doc” She said” Oh you think you’re smart, don’t you? Asking the doctor because we don’t know what we’re doing. I’m going to have a breakdown and end up in a looney bin all alone because I don’t know what I’m doing. Are you listening to me?” He says”of course, moonbeam “

And just as he stepped into the infirmary a contraction hit her and she pinched him. He squealed like a girl and said “baby…let go..let go baby. Aaaagghh! Let go! Holy shit! What was that??” She smiled and said “your version of a contraction.” Doc came running in and said let’s get her to a room and see what’s going on. Another contraction bit into her and she pinched Doc! He begged and squirmed and asked the Alpha to help and Rafe just shrugged and said “already happened to me once, I’m just sharing the wealth!”

Two hours later, Ariadne is in full blown labor and demanding drugs.. one unwitting nurse got too close just as another contraction hit and she grabbed her by her collar and in a voice that sounded eerily similar to Linda Blair in The Exorcist said “Get. Me. Drugs. Now!” An anesthesiologist ran in and primed her for an epidural and fifteen minutes later she was propped up on her pillows, eating gelato and smiling at Jax while he begged her to name the baby after him… Rafe was sitting in a chair beside the bed hoping his precious moonbeam did not turn into Mr. Hyde again. He had six deep bruises on his waist and was hoping that would be all.

Another four hours had passed and the doctor had just examined her. Telling her she is at ten centimeters and can start pushing. A contraction was coming on and Doc was coaching “Okay Luna..bear down on my count and hold it One two three Push! Push…andddd release. After four more hard pushes she felt the baby slide out with a resounding plop. Doc says you have a healthy baby boy. Alpha do you want to cut the cord?” And Rafe did! And he was so proud! He leaned down and kissed Ariadne and told her how proud he was of her and how much he loved her and she pinched him! Hard! And then she screamed why the fuck do I have to push!? And the Doc looked said “Well..looks like little man wasn’t in there alone. Time to push Luna!”

Another ten minutes and another baby popped out! Ariadne told Doc to look up in there and make sure there is no more surprises. Doc says nope..this little girl is the last one..Ariadne looked at Rafe and saw he had tears in his eyes and she said “aww baby. I love you. You are so emotional.” He looked at her and said “Emotional? Woman..I am in pain! I have bruises on my bruises and can’t bend my side because I’m afraid you shredded my obliques!” She said “oh you big pussy! I just pushed two whole humans out of my hoo-ha and you’re worried about a few bruises.” He said “hoo-ha? What the fuck is a hoo-ha?”

Just then a nurse walked in with the babies…all clean and wrapped in pink and blue, respectively and all was forgiven and forgotten. Rafe picked up his son and handed him to Ariadne. She put him to her breast and waited until he latched on before taking her daughter and putting her to her other breast. Rafe was lying beside her rubbing his daughter’s head and asks “what are we naming them, my love?”

She said “our boy is Alexander..for his daddy..and our daughter is Andrea for the girl who changed my life” He grinned and said “she changed mine too” and kissed his mate..his love..his life…his little hybrid pixie
