Six-Meeting the Pack

Rafe opened his eyes to sparks and tingles across his chest and abdomen…only to find Andrea spread on top of him. He kissed the top of her head..whispering “We have to wake up, moonbeam. Have to get this day started”

She whined “don’t wanna” but did it anyway. He laughed and said “not a morning person I take it” She was walking into the shower and said “No.. I am.. I’m just not a one o’clock two o’clock three o’clock person” giving him a cheeky grin and he swooped into the shower lifting her so she was wrapped around his waist and he whispered “let’s make it a 7 o’clock person,too” She giggled.

Two hours later they entered the dining hall, hand in hand. They walked to the head of the table and took a seat. He introduced her to his inner circle. He said “ you already know Jax and sat beside him is his mate Madilyn.. beside Madilyn, is sitting her sister, Cassandra..though I’m not sure why. And to my left, beside you is Gavin and then, my delta, Damon. Damon is the best tracker in this…or any pack.

Damon was shoving a sausage patty in his mouth and said “hey Luna..great to meet you.” Only it sounded like “hey yuna..gate will eat you” and it struck Andrea funny. Her tinkling laughter rolled around the table and soon everyone was chatting and laughing. Rafe smiled.

Knowing his pack was happy. He stood up and walked to the sideboard..fixing a plate of food and grabbing coffees. As he sat, he picked her up, placing her in his lap and began feeding her. He had already told her there are things his wolf will do that will seem possessive but, in reality, it is his protective instinct. She didn’t care. She was hungry!

Damon looked up at her, grinning… Rafe shook his head, knowing his youngest brother was going to be his usual goofy self.. Andrea looked up at Damon, narrowed her eyes and said “what?”

He grinned even wider and said! “How short are you? You’re like a little pocket rocket.” She smiled a little sarcastically and said “I am 5’1 and a half inches tall. Tall! Not short! No one ever asks how short you are!”

Damon laughs and says “I could hide you in my pocket “ and she said “and I could break your arm, but I’m sure Rafe would allow neither, so here we sit, Sparky.” He choked and said “ Sparky?”

Jax said.. “ yeah, she’s bad with names.” And Gavin cracked up and high-fives Andrea. Rafe says to not encourage her.

Jax asked if anyone felt the intense surge of energy that rolled over packlands around 3 this morning. Everyone was nodding. He noticed Cassandra and Edward looking at each other in confusion.

Rafe looked down at Andrea’s beautiful face and kissed her nose, saying “I have some work I need to do this morning..you are welcome to sit with me, but you can also explore, if you’d prefer”

She asked if she was needed in the office for anything and he said he would be arranging her Luna ceremony for the full moon on Saturday and would only need her colors and flower preferences.

She nodded and said she only wanted pack colors and royal purple, as that is the primary royal pixie color and orchids are her favorite flowers. He nodded and stood from the table.

He walked with her to his office and said “This is where I will be, if you need me, just link and if you get bored, come find me” wiggling his eyebrows at her and she giggled. He sat down and she left, skipping down the hall.

As she rounded a corner she ran her nose smack dab into a wall. She glanced up and realized the wall was Damon as she mumbled “whole fucking pack full of gorgeous damn walking tress and asking me how short I am..maybe should worry how tall they are..always running over me” and Damon lost it.

Gavin says “ yeah..she talks to herself. A lot. It’s hard to ignore “ Damon apologized and said he would be careful next time and she smiled so sweetly he forgot to breathe. They headed to Rafe’s office while she set off to uncharted territory..

Walking into the office, Jax is already there and Rafe was all seriousness. He looked at Jax and said “ what did you find out?”

Jax pulled a folder from his bag and clearing his throat began “Alpha Armand Hellier was challenged for his title by his Beta six months ago and lost. His Beta fucked him up! He spent three weeks recovering before he was banned from BloodRed Moon Pack. Six of his toughest warriors chose to leave with him. He met with a human in a town called Manning in Pennsylvania. They seemed to have partnered up and both men traveled to BlackRiver Pack in Maine that he had an alliance with.

The Alpha there is Isaac Beaumont and his son… Liam.. is set to ascend in the summer of next year. Two weeks ago, Armand, Liam, and the human….ummm…. William Henderson.. left BlackRiver with Armand’s warriors and six others from Alpha Isaac’s pack. Whereabouts unknown, as of yet, Alpha”

Rafe sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. , He stood up and walked to the window. He spied his tiny pixie in the garden..watching her speak to the flowers. All it took was seeing her and he was calm again.

He turned and looked at his men. His best friend his Beta..and his two brothers. His family. And he spoke..” Here’s what we know… all three of those men have vested interest in our Luna. We don’t know they are actively coming for her, but the break-in at the warehouse last night is a good indication. We don’t know where they are..how many men they may have garnered along the way.. or exactly why they want my pixie back.”

Damon said “wait..Pixie? That’s why she’s so short!” as he laughed. Jax said “ she’s sensitive about her height..she has a horrible time with names..but she never lets anything get her down. That is an amazing little woman”.

Gavin said “ I have already lined up four of the elite guard to shadow Luna constantly. Someone will be where she is, at all times”

Damon then replied “I will double border patrol..especially where the rogues crossed our borders last night” Jax told them “I am arranging cameras to be set all around the territory, as well as the warehouse.”

Rafe looked up and said “I want pictures of these three men! We are facing a triple threat with no idea of where or when the attack will come. I want more foot traffic in town..more boots on the ground. I want everyone in town to be on watch. If any of those faces pop up, we need to be made aware!”

All three men said “Yes, Alpha” Rafe said “Okay gentleman, we have a Luna event to put together in four days. And Jax…that roll of energy? Happened when my Luna marked me.. Yeah!” And he grinned. Everyone cheered and laughed..slapping Rafe on the back.
