Reborn as a Transcendent

"Whatâs happening?" Yaeger asked, already used to Little Blueâs tendency to overreact.
Noticing her masterâs calm demeanor, Little Blue pouted in disappointment. Pointing at the holographic screen, she explained, "Master, the awakening process in Cathay is accelerating faster than anywhere else."
Yaegerâs eyes followed Little Blueâs finger, focusing on a specific point on the screen where the data activity was unusually high. "What location is this?" she asked, her brow furrowed in curiosity.
"Iâll check," Little Blue replied. After studying the screen for a moment, she added, "Iâm not sure. The geographical data of this planet and this region arenât labeled properly. Plus, the space around this area seems⦠unusual."
"Whatâs strange about it?" Yaeger asked, tilting her head slightly.
"Hmm⦠Itâs part of this dimension, but it feels disconnected," Little Blue mused, tapping her lips thoughtfully.
"So, it exists but doesnât exist at the same time?" Yaeger said, her confusion evident.
"Itâs probably some sort of independent dimension," Little Blue replied hesitantly.
Yaeger quickly pieced it together. "Earthly Paradise!" she exclaimed.
"Earth-leek-carrot-dice? Whatâs that? Is it something delicious?" Little Blue asked, licking her lips eagerly.
Yaeger rolled her eyes. "Youâre always thinking about food. Isnât Earthly Paradise the independent dimension you just mentioned?"
"Oh, thatâs what Aqua Blue Star refers to them as," Little Blue nodded knowingly. She continued, "Master, there could be something dangerous inside this Earthly Paradise. You shouldnât approach it recklessly."
"Dangerous? Little Blue, do you think thereâs anything in there that could be far stronger than me?" Yaeger asked, a hint of unease creeping into her voice.
"Itâs hard to say," Little Blue admitted. "But the data from this Earthly Paradise isnât particularly extraordinary. Even if thereâs something powerful in there, it shouldnât be much stronger than you, Master."
"So, thereâs still a chance," Yaeger murmured, her fists clenching unconsciously as her expression darkened with concern.
Whether it was the awakening of an ancient lifeform or the Earthly Paradise itself, either possibility posed a threat to her, âI have to prepare for the worst.'
"Thankfully, I still have the [City of Chaos]. If things go south, I can always retreat strategically," Yaeger muttered to herself. With an escape route secured, her worries eased significantly.
âItâs comforting to know I have a five-star fortress to fall back on!'
"Donât worry, Master!" Little Blue chimed in, patting her tragically flat chest with pride. "Once the [City of Chaos] is fully repaired, I can blast any enemy to pieces with just one cannon shot!"
"Thatâs easy for you to say," Yaeger sighed, thinking of her dwindling funds. "Getting those materials isnât just difficult; theyâre ridiculously expensive too."
Nearly all the money she had earned recently had gone straight into buying materials. At this point, she barely had enough left for groceries. The groceries werenât even for her.
As she gazed at the three human-shaped food processors before her, Yaeger felt a headache creeping in.
"This canât go on. Spending this much on fast food is ridiculous," she muttered.
Hearing this, the three creatures sprang to their feet, panic written all over their faces. "Master, no! Weâll starve to death!" they cried in unison, terrified at the thought of losing their food supply.
"Huh? What are you all on about? I only said feeding you fast food is inconvenient and expensive. I never said Iâd stop feeding you altogether," Yaeger replied calmly, her tone indifferent.
"I see," they sighed in unison, visibly relieved.
"By the way, Little Blue, can you modify one of the cityâs puppets to act as a chef?" Yaeger asked, turning her gaze toward her.
"Thatâs easy! I can have it done in no time." Little Blue smiled as she playfully patted her arm.
"Excellent," Yaeger nodded. "Also, Iâll need a large kitchen built in the city. Oh, and can Magic Essence be converted into a steady supply of electricity?" Ê
"Master, are you planning to install a walk-in freezer or something?" By now, Little Blue was likely more familiar with Aqua Blue Star than Yaeger herself, having learned nearly everything about itâincluding kitchen appliances.
"No need for a walk-in freezer," Yaeger replied. "But Iâll need large refrigerators, exhaust fans, and rice cookers."
Even if she wasnât worried about her wallet, Yaeger valued her time. Running out to buy food every day simply wasnât sustainable.
âMy appearance is far too conspicuous. No matter what I do, I canât hide it. Itâs so frustrating.' The events of the night served as a stark reminder of this. âIf only I could turn back into a male again,â she thought, sighing inwardly.
With danger looming all around her, she couldnât afford to dispel the transformation, even if she wanted to. And then there were the three cuties at home. If she returned to her male form, her biggest secret would be exposed.
âWhat a headacheâ¦'
"Does this mean weâll be cooking our own food from now on?" Vera 17 asked curiously.
"Does that mean we can have three meals a day now?" Vera 18 asked, her excitement barely contained.
"Yes. Iâll buy plenty of ingredients in bulk, and the humanoid puppet will take care of the rest. Youâll get three meals a day, and the menu wonât repeat," Yaeger assured them.
Hearing this, the three little creatures nearly leaped with joy.
"Weâll figure out what to do later." Yaeger waved her hand dismissively, signaling them to calm down, before turning her attention to Little Blue. "Have you spotted any Transcendents from the leaderboard heading to Cathay recently?"
"Iâll check." Little Blue tapped her slender finger in the air, and the holographic screen before her rippled, displaying fresh data.
Typically, Transcendents entered Cathay through illegal means. However, Veraâs clones were an exception. They preferred traveling legitimately, though they never left behind any identifiable information.
"The immigration records look normal. It doesnât seem like the other Veras have arrived yet. As for any Transcendents who entered illegally, I have no way of tracking them," Little Blue explained.
"Itâs fine. Just keep an eye on Vera," Yaeger instructed. At the moment, only Vera knew the location of Yaegerâs residence, and that was her main concern. The other Transcendents werenât a priority.
âMy place in Jade Flower Garden is still valuable. I canât let Vera ruin it,â she thought to herself. Jade Flower Garden was the safest and most private location for Yaeger to revert to her male form.
Hearing about their original host, Vera 17 and 18 exchanged glances, their expressions filled with complexity and helplessness. Bound by their circumstances, they had no choice but to obey.
Their lives were entirely in someone elseâs hands. Even if Yaeger allowed them to leave, they wouldnât dare. Without regular injections of life energy from her, they would inevitably die.
"Alright, Iâll just set the trap and wait for the rabbit to hop in," Little Blue said cheerfully. The more Veras she captured, the simpler her work became, so her enthusiasm was understandable.
"Hehe, Iâll leave the rabbit to you." Yaeger took a sip of her now-cold black tea before retreating to her room to rest.
Meanwhile, on a secluded island in the Southern Ocean, inside a luxurious five-star hotel⦠The rabbits âVera 1, 2, and 3â sat comfortably on a plush sofa in the presidential suite. Across from them sat twelve individuals.
"[Lightning Wolf] Mr. David and [Tragic Wind] Mr. Pete, itâs an honor to join you on this mission," the three Veras said in perfect unison, their tone unusually humble. Their deference was due to the two men sitting in the centerâboth S-ranked Transcendents.
On the left sat [Lightning Wolf] David, a rugged man in his mid-thirties with a muscular build and a weathered leather jacket. His appearance was average, but his aura was anything but.
He possessed the ability to generate and manipulate electricity, combined with extraordinary physical strength. It was rumored that his power was only marginally weaker than the SS-ranked powerhouse, the [Storm Emperor].
On the right sat a gaunt man in a crisp white jacket. Despite his striking good looks, his melancholic aura was unmistakable. This was [Tragic Wind] Pete, a man who seemed to embody despair itself.
Pete wielded the power to command wind currents with devastating force, complemented by remarkable physical prowess. It was said that he once conjured a water tornado strong enough to hurl a massive cruise ship into the sky.
Both the Veras and the ten other Transcendents seated nearby displayed visible respect toward the two SS-ranked figures.
The remaining ten individuals included:
[Dark Chariot] from America,
[Passerby Hero] from Japan,
[Scissorhands] from Egypt,
[Half-Saint] from India,
[Frost Shooter] from Spain,
[Matchless Tempest] from Korea,
[Flaming Lips] from Belgium,
[Slaughter Bear] from Russia,
[Bat Man] from Honduras, and
[Smiling Duke] from Vatican City.
Each of them was an AA-ranked Transcendent, a rank considered equivalent to Pinnacle Masters in terms of power and skill. This formidable lineup had been assembled to take down just one Pinnacle Master. The sheer scale of the operation was almost unbelievable.
"Letâs dispense with the formalities and get to the point," [Lightning Wolf] David said, glancing around the room.
"Are we targeting [Princess] too?" [Tragic Wind] Pete asked, his tone as downcast as his expression.
Vera 3 scanned the room, her gaze eventually settling on the two SS-ranked Transcendents. She spoke in an unhurried, composed tone. "Your primary objective is to eliminate the Grandmaster protecting [Princess]: Ronald Tian," she stated.
The two men didnât even flinch at her words, their expressions remaining impassive. Frankly, it shouldnât be too difficult for two S-ranked Transcendents to handle that old man.
"While the two of you handle Ronald and eliminate him, the rest of us, including the AA-ranked Transcendents here, will focus on taking down [Princess]," Vera 3 explained, her tone calm but firm.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Noticing that the two S-ranked Transcendents seemed disinterested, Vera 3 shifted her focus to the others and addressed them directly.
"[Princess]âis she really that hard to kill?" [Dark Chariot] asked, a trace of skepticism in his voice.
"Sheâs likely unbeatable among AA-ranked Transcendents," Vera 2 replied, her tone devoid of emotion.
The ten Transcendents exchanged surprised glances, momentarily stunned by the statement. If she truly was invincible among AA-ranked, didnât that place her on the cusp of S rank?
That couldnât be possible!
As seasoned powerhouses on the verge of S rank themselves, their pride refused to accept such a notion. Acknowledging that an S-ranked was superior to them was one thing. After all, that was an undeniable fact. But to hear that an AA-ranked could utterly dominate them in battle⦠None of them could bring themselves to believe it.
"Heh, now Iâm even more curious to meet her," [Passerby Hero] Kareihira said with a wry smile, running his fingers through his messy, split-end-filled hair.
"You all need to face the reality of the situation. [Princess] is undeniably stronger than any of you, which is exactly why we need your cooperation to finish her off once and for all," Vera 1 interjected, her voice sharp.
As she spoke, Vera 1âs previously indifferent expression gave way to one of chilling seriousness. It felt as though the air in the room had turned ice-cold in an instant.
The ten Transcendents immediately sensed the shift in the atmosphere.
Upon closer inspection, they realized their bodies were ensnared by barely visible threads. The threads radiated an unsettling, bone-chilling coldness. Every AA-ranked Transcendent in the room felt an involuntary shiver run down their spine.
"See? I can do this with ease while youâre all distracted. Now imagine what that cunning and ridiculously powerful [Princess] could do," Vera 1 stated, her face devoid of any emotion.
As combat specialists engineered for battle, the three Veras were far superior to the average AA-ranked Transcendent.
"In any case, youâd best follow my lead," Vera 1 commanded firmly. With that declaration, the clandestine mission to hunt down [Princess] was officially set into motion.
