Chapter 4

***Phone conversation***

"Can I just come over?"

"Of course. Um. I'll be there soon. I'll meet you there"

Ryley arrived at her apartment shortly after Liv got there. They both walked in and sat on the couch.

"What's going on with you girly? R u ok?"

"It's my mom" Liv said with her head down

"What's wrong with her?"

"She's not very accepting.. You know of me.. And now she's told the whole family...and they came over tonight...and"

"Hey. It's ok beautiful"

"But.. But... it's not. They all think I'm confused or that something is wrong with me. I can't go back over there with all of them there. They look at me like I'm broken or something. Why do they even care and why would my mom tell them. She didn't even ask if it was ok. I hate her"

"She had no right to do that, cutie. And you already know you can stay here as long as you want to"

"Thank you"

"Anything for you, love"

Ryley made sure Liv was comfortable on the couch before she left to go take a shower. While she was gone, Liv sat on the couch watching tv. She changed into her pjs and it looked like she found something interesting to watch while Ryley was gone.

After her shower, Ryley rejoined her on the couch.

The two started starring at each other as they always seemed to do.

"Feeling better babe?" Ryley asked

"Yeah, I am, thanks" Liv replied

"Good! It will be ok. You always have me" Ryley assured her

Liv's body started to relax after hearing those words. She started to lean in for a kiss, but Ryley got nervous and didn't know what to do. Should I kiss back? Should I stop her? Should I turn it into something else?

Ryley decided to kiss her cheek instead

Liv opened her eyes and sat back on the couch. She looked puzzled

"Where were you tonight?" Liv asked as she moved away from Ryley

"I was just hanging out with a friend"

"Mmmm"

"What's wrong cutie?"

"A friend that you have sex with?"

"What?!?!, I nev-"

"Don't lie to me"

Ryley looked down

"Babe. Come here" Ryley eventually replied

"You lied to me. You, you, you told me you didn't want anything like that. Why would you lie?" Liv said in her soft, quiet voice. Nevertheless, Ryley could tell Liv was upset.

"It's not what you think. I promise"

"What is it about me that you don't like?"

"What? What are you talking about? You're beautiful. You're perfect. Any girl would be happy to have you"

"Except you apparently"

Ryley was getting frustrated. This girl really was perfect. How was she going to get out of this one? She couldn't tell her the truth. She wouldn't understand. She would probably feel judged and get mad at her. What could she say? She was taking a really long time to reply. She was holding Liv's hands now, looking down at them. There were so many thoughts running through her head. So many ways this conversation could go.

"Ok, the truth is I--"

Before she could finish, Liv kissed her.

Without thinking Ryley immediately kissed back. She deepened the kiss and put one hand on Liv's back. She gently leaned Liv back and got on top of her- never breaking the kiss. Liv wrapped her arms around her neck and Ryley put her hand on her waist. Liv pulled Ryley in closer and started kissing her more passionately. Ryley slowly opened her mouth and slid her tongue into Liv's mouth. Liv did the same, timidly...almost unsure of what to do next. Ryley broke the kiss and started kissing Liv's neck. She could tell Liv was enjoying it. Liv wrapped her leg around Ryley and threw her head back in enjoyment.

"Wait, babe. I can't" Ryley said getting up

"What why?? It is me. Was I.... Bad?"

"No, no. It was the opposite. It was really good. The strongest connection I've felt to anyone" Ryley said as she smiled

"Then why... why can't we keep going? I really like you"

"I like you too. But it's best if we stop" Liv said before she kissed Liv's hand

"Fine" Liv said sitting up.

Ryley could tell Liv was upset with her.

"Please don't be mad at me"

Liv didn't reply

Ryley sat on the floor with her legs open and motioned Liv to come sit in front of her. She hugged her tight and gave her several kisses on her cheek.

"You're so cute. Now tell me more about your day"

The two sat on the floor talking until 3 am when they eventually went to the bedroom and fell asleep on the bed.

What have I gotten myself into??? I was with some lady today. I can't remember her name. I rushed home to make sure Liv was ok and she kissed me!!!. I told her we should just be friends. She told me she still likes me and of course I like her, but we shouldn't. I can't lie though, I really enjoyed the kiss and I did think about taking it farther. I really did. It took everything in me to hold back. But I had just been with another girl earlier. It didn't feel right.

Liv's kisses were amazing though. She was pulling me closer and I started to hear her moan as I kissed her neck. It got me excited in a way that I have never been before. I wanted to please her and give her everything she wanted. But that's why I had to stop. I know I can't give her everything. Not right now. I know I would only end up hurting her and she deserves better. She's literally perfect. So cute, and sweet, and kind. I've never felt a better connection to a person. I'm sure I had a connection with Jade at some point, but the last month or so was terrible.

Jade has been calling and texting me, but I haven't responded yet. To be honest, I wouldn't mind hooking up with her, but I definitely don't want a relationship with her again. She's an attention seeker and she can't stay faithful. She's cute as hell, but she's just not a person I would date again. I really don't know why I dated her in the first place. Well, anyway, I hope Liv and I can remain friends. I hope I haven't completely messed up everything.
