Chapter 6

My Friend Liv

It has been three whole days and I've still heard nothing from Liv. I call and text her several times a day and well... I'm done with it. I'm not going to text or call her anymore. I don't care about her. She's clearly playing games and I don't have time for that. She thinks she can just come around whenever she wants. No one does that to me. The whole thing was just a game anyway. I don't care if I ever see her again. I'm going to see Jade today. She texted me saying she wants to talk. I told her she can come over for a while. I had nothing else to do today so I said yes.

**** Later that day****

Ryley hears a knock on the door and gets up to open it

"Well, well, well... Miss Jade... How are you?"

"Good.... I suppose. Are u gonna let me in or do I have to stand here all day?"

Ryley rolls here eyes. Such a drama queen. A sexy drama queen- but still

"Come in" Ryley said as she moved aside and let Jade walk past

Jade stepped in and looked around. "Still a little dull apartment I see. Just like I remember it" she said with a smirk

"Mmm well maybe if my girlfriend hadn't cheated on me she could have stayed here and made it look pretty... Like her"

"Good one" Jade said as she sat down on the couch

"What do you want Jade?"

"Whaaat? I can't just visit my ex to see how's she's doing"

"For other people that may be normal, but for you, no"

"Well I don't want anything"

"Really? Is that why you still call and text me?"

"So you're saying I can't now?" Jade said defensively

"Calm down, girl. Of course you can" Ryley said moving closer to her on the couch.

" Now, what's really going on. Is everything ok?"

"Yeah"

Ryley stared at her- waiting for her to say more

"I just miss you, a little" Jade said avoiding eye contact

"Oh.... Only a little? Ryley said laughing.

"Yes. A little" Jade said as she put her hand on Ryley's thigh

"Mmm ok then, baby girl"

"I really am sorry for... You know... The way things ended"

"Right"

"Do you forgive me?"

"I wouldn't allow u in my apartment if I hadn't already"

"True. I guess I just wanted to tell u in person. We never really got to talk face-to-face after"

"Yeah"

"You really were the best thing in my life. I regret everything"

Ryley sat up straight and started moving around in her seat. She didn't really know what to say

"I see" Ryley said quietly

"You may not agree... But I want to try again" Jade said moving even closer to Ryley

Try again?!? Is she serious?- Ryley thought to herself. After all the hurt she put me through??? Why on Earth would I?

"I don't think I can Jade. You really hurt me"

"But it's me babe" Jade said moving closer to Ryley

"Right.. But I..."

"But you what?"

"I can't. I still think you're sexy as hell... and to be honest I'd love to have sex with you- no strings attached, but I don't trust you enough for a relationship again"

"I see" Jade said standing up

"I should probably leave now"

"You don't have to" Ryley replied

"I think I want to"

"Um, alright then" Ryley said as she stood up

Ryley walked Jade to the door. The two hugged and Jade left

Ryley was starting to feel a headache coming on. This was a weird day. Why did she even let Jade come over? She knew nothing good would come of it.

Ryley laid on the couch and started to massage the bridge of her nose when she heard her phone vibrate. It was a text message from Liv. Ryley sat up immediately to read it. It only said hey. Ryley called her immediately but there was no answer. She decided to text her

Ryley: Hey how are you, love?

Liv: I'm ok.

Ryley hated doing this over text message. She hadn't talked to this girl in days. She wanted to hear her voice to make sure she was ok. This texting thing just wasn't cutting it. However, she went on with the conversation anyway.

Ryley: What are you up to?

Liv: Bored. Just thinking. Can you meet me somewhere?

Ryley: Yes. Where?

Liv: The park- near my house. In 30 mins?

Ryley: Ok babe. See you then

What in the world was going on? She was texting me because she was bored? She wouldn't answer my call? But she wants to meet? Ryley felt like something wasn't right. It couldn't still be what happened three days ago. She had to be over that by now.

Ryley hurriedly put on her clothes and found her keys. She set off for the park right away not caring that she might arrive early.

Once at the park, Ryley found a bunch to sit on. She sat alone for about 10 minutes until she finally saw Liv walking towards her.

Ryley greeted Liv with a tight hug and they both started walking around the park.

"How have you been, babe?" Ryley asked

"Good" Liv said as they both strolled through the park

Ryley stopped walking and faced Liv. "Babe, I'm so sorry for what happened at the mall"

"It's ok. I forgive you"

Ryley smiled. She felt as if a weight was lifted off her shoulders. Her day was finally getting better

"Uh. I'm so happy. So what have you been up to? How's the party planning going? Am I still invited?" Ryley said giggling

"Yes, of course" Liv said blushing

"But there is something.. I feel like I should tell you"

"Of course. What is it?"

The two sat down on the swings

"I think.. I... I found someone"

Ryley's heart skipped a beat. What did she mean found someone?!? Ryley wondered

"Really??? That's great babe!" Ryley managed to say excitedly

"Thank you" Liv said as she looked down swinging her feet

"So tell me all about it. What's her name? Where did you meet? How long have you been talking?"

"Umm.. Her name is Ashley. We met online. We've been talking for a few weeks now.

"Sounds promising"

"Mmhmm. There's something else..... I'm inviting her to the party.

Ryley definitely wasn't going now.

"Will you still come?"

"Of course babe. I can't wait to meet her"

This was a terrible day. First, Jade comes over and tries to get back together with me. I rejected the offer, but I still said I would have sex with her. That was dumb. Knowing Jade, she will make it more complicated than it has to be. As if that wasn't bad enough, I finally heard from Liv today. She told me she is interested in someone. They've been talking for a while and she's inviting her to her birthday party. I'm definitely not going now, even though I told Liv I would. I don't have time for this. I don't even care about the girl anymore. The friendship is over. I will delete her number out of my phone tomorrow.
