Chapter 144

Fated For Lycan's Luna

Chloe's POV

Caleb had a profound look on his face as he asked the question.

My heart stopped as I remembered his hostility toward Blake. But looking at his expression it

doesn't seem like he realized it was him.

"Ah... How long have you been here?” Trying to dodge his question, asked with surprise.

“From the time Esha went off... Seeing that you spaced out, I thought you saw an important person.”

There was a subtle flicker in Caleb's eyes, “At one point I even thought you saw your mate.”

My breathing stopped as soon as he uttered these words.

“Are my expressions that obvious?’ I asked myself as I shook my head refusing to let out a word.

An awkward silence took over, wishing one of us to break it.

I felt Caleb's eyes land on me heavily, his eyes were clouded by an indescribable sense of hesitation,

wanting to speak something but in the end, he closed his eyes and sighed.

“I have some news from the spies we had, I think you need to hear this along with the others..."

With his helpless and defeated look, he uttered much to my bewilderment.

"Alright..." I nodded as I gestured for us to move, no longer paying heed to his strange expression.

Both of us hurried back to our pack house with Allan, Vannessa and the rest waiting for our arrival.

We head straight to the meeting room where everyone is tense and serious.

Sitting on my post, Allan gestured for the aide to finally read the message from the spies as

everyone listened with cold expressions.

"At the third hour at the night of the next full moon, Alpha Kain will hold a party with selected

people as attendees...” The message was brief but it contained crucial details for everyone to work

on.

“Heh... The Alpha of the BloodHound Pack sure is bold! To think that he would choose not to be

careful and lay low for losing his second base and organize a party... How strange.” Vanessa raised

her brows as she commented about the news.

"Seeing that it is such a small scale party and there are very few names that we called, it seems like it

was not just a show of nonchalance... I think it's rather the opposite...” Allan touched his chin as he

thought deeply.

“It is as you said... the people in the list might be those who pledged allegiance to the Alpha of the

BloodHound Pack, but their identities were rather negligible...” Caleb looked at the list and

pondered,

“In fact the strength behind them combined was not even as good as half of the Blood Hound's

second base. This only means one thing...”

“Kain is setting up a bait to entice the culprit and catch us in one go.” Tapping the table rhythmically

as I listened to their discussion, I voiced out my conclusion.

“Did he think we would fall into such an obvious trap?” One elder asked.

A wave of silence befell into the room, however, I leaned forward and announced, “It doesn't matter

whether he thinks we would or not... This party is a good chance for us to hit them even further.”

The discussion went on a little longer to settle the disagreements until we finally arrived with a

concrete plan.

Days later, I left Caleb in-charge of protecting the rest of the pack while I brought Allan, Vanessa

and another warrior to monitor a certain pack.

The target, the Brook Valley Pack Alpha and his men were one of the guests that would participate

in the upcoming banquet of the BloodHound Pack.

To make sure that our stronghold will not be suspected, we selected the target that was stationed

slightly opposite of our location.

“We still have roughly a week before the banquet, our goal is to intercept the target and replace

them to infiltrate the party organized by the BloodHound Pack...” Locking our eyes to the pack

house not far from our location, I briefed the team once more before signaling them to disperse.

Receiving the signal that all others were already in the position, I sat on a three and thought, “Now

we will just have to wait.”

While it was easier for the four of us to wipe out the pack and take over, it would also alarm the

others very quickly.

Our goal was to hit the Blood Hound Pack where it hurts and for that to happen, we must patiently

watch the Brook Valley pack and jump at the perfect time for interception.

It was not until four days later that we saw the Alpha of the Brook Valley pack and his entourage left

their territory to head to the party.

From their distance to the Blood Hound Pack’s party it would take them three days to travel.

They have purposely gone earlier to build connections within the Blood Hound Pack, however, too

bad, for they will not even reach the venue at the time.

Our plan is pretty straight forward. Allan, being a strong sentinel along with Vannessa and another

warrior were tasked to dispose of the rest of the men while I confront their Alpha.

Taking out the Alpha, however, must be done as quickly as possible so that the rest of the pack

would not be alerted.

We tailed them for two more days before preparing for the interception.

"Aurora, are you sure you can fool the rest of the pack?” I asked my wolf once more.

"En... Getting a portion of his essence will be easy as long as we do it quickly.” Aurora confirmed

With that, I mindlinked everyone to get into their positions and start the operation.

Swoosh!!!

From the blanket of the shadows, I rushed straight to the Alpha, aiming to his neck.

Cold drops of blood splattered on my face as I heard the muffled sound of agony from behind.

In just a few seconds, the fight is over. Our operation ended smooth and swift.

Checking out the Alpha’s corpse with her feet, Vanessa looked at me and asked, “What now Chloe?”

The other two looked at me as well, waiting for my instructions.

"One moment..." I replied while bending down to touch the corpse. “Aurora, I'll leave the rest to

you..."

“Very well...” Aurora’s soft and warm voice rang and her power seeped out of my body.

The next moment, her aura touched the dead corpses on the ground and little wisps of faint aura

emerged from the bodies and flew towards each of us.

“The aura will last for three days at most, but it is enough to infiltrate the party...” I explained to

everyone as they all accepted the traces of aura.

The moment we all touched the aura, our bodies transformed exactly as the targets looked.

“This is amazing... I never knew your wolf could do such a thing Chloe... It's kind of scary!” Vanessa

looked at her hands that now looked like a male warrior as she commented.

I shrugged and reminded them once more,

“Let's not waste the days we spent observing the habits and personalities of our respective targets.

Remember, in order for us to be successful, we must go unnoticed as long as possible!”
