Chapter 153
Fated For Lycan's Luna
Blake's POV
At Alpha Kain's words, all eyes were drawn upon our group. Gazes of doubt, jealousy and high
expectations, all kinds of expressions were directed toward us. Along with it were words full of
praise and some doubt.
âThe Frost Fang Pack? Goodness! Our Lord has gone all out!â
âIndeed, it is a wise decision, My Lord!"
âBut can we really entrust this thing to the Frost Fang Pack?â
âAs far as I know they have just submitted to our Lord recently.â
âWhat are you thinking? Of course the Frost Fang Pack needed this very opportunity to prove their
worth to our Lord!"
âIndeed! If they fail this, not only will they be punished but their entire pack will bear Alpha Kain's
wrath!â
Behind me, Arthur was already panicking while we sat still keeping a straight face. âWhat the hell! Is
this for real?! Blake, what are we going to do with this?â
"Keep calm, getting their trust is why we came here...â Idris reminded the hysterical Arthur. âAm I
right, Lycan King?â
Observing the entire situation I glanced at Alpha Kain and his men who were looking at us with a
calm gaze. It was really clear what Alpha Kain's intention was.
It is not only to test our loyalty and strength, but to use us and show the âenemyâ that we are on his
side.
And that his side is unbeatable!
As such I waved my hand nonchalantly as I answered, âThe Frost Fang Pack shall accept your
command, Lord Kain!"
The moment he heard my words a satisfied smile bloomed on Alpha Kain's face as he responded,
"Good good!â
"After this meeting, we shall talk further to discuss the details of the mission!â
With that the meeting continued with Alpha Kain assigning some tasks to the rest of his men.
Meanwhile we waited until it all ended before we were summoned to enter Alpha Kain's office.
âCome and sit down Alpha Sabre,â Alpha Kain sat on his study and beckoned us to sit in front.
He waved his hands and let Elder Gauss hand over some documents containing the information
about the Blood Moon Pack.
As I glanced at the contents of the paper, Elder Gauss took the initiative to explain everything.
"Five years ago, our allies started attacking the Blood Moon Pack in order to subdue them and
acquire their expertise in poison...â
âBecause my brother's heir was too narrow minded, their resistance immediately caused their
downfall. That is why, instead of originally intending to subdue them and let them be under the
Lord's power, we are forced to annihilate them completely upon learning the secrets only known to
the Alphas of the pack!â
âIt should have been that way, if not for a sudden interference of two mysterious wolves which until
now, we were not able to get a clue on who they were. Because of those two, our forces have failed
to completely annihilate the pack and we were unable to acquire the secrets of poison knowledge.â
While Elder Gauss was explaining this, his expression turned dark and angry. It was full of frustration
and unwillingness, which must have been because he failed to get the thing he liked to get the most
from the Blood Moon Pack.
âNot only that, but the failure that happened in those years became torn in our flesh! Now these
puny remnants dared to challenge me directly!â Alpha Kain tapped the table with his fingers
rhythmically but it could be seen that he was holding back his anger.
âIn those five years, we were not able to even get anything about those who intervened?â Feigning
interest about the matters about the blood moon pack, I raised the question without minding if this
offended the two.
âUnfortunately, we did not have any clue other than it is possibly someone from the Silver Pack!â
Elder Gauss replied while gritting his teeth.
âSilver Pack? The Lycans? How in the world have they gotten involved with such a pack like the
Blood Moon Pack?â I continued questioning.
"My brother's eldest daughter turned out to be the Silver Packâs Luna. This is all confirmed by many
Alpha's back then during my brother's funeral.â
"However, because Silver Pack was also greatly weakened that time due to a prior attack, as such we
did not even know if they still had the capacity to send reinforcements for the Blood Moon Pack.
Besides... it was confirmed that the Lycan King and Luna had completely fallen out because of the
death of their unborn child.â
Listening to the story and hearing what happened to me, Chloe and to my child from the mouth of
an enemy gave me a strong urge to throw a killing rage. However, I dug my nails in my palm to
keep my emotions in check and asked in an indifferent tone.
âFollowing that, both the Silver Pack and the Blood Moon Pack disappeared without a trace. As such,
the matter about who rescued the Blood Moon Packâs remnants remained unsolved at the moment
with the Silver Pack as the only possible lead.â
âBut we have strong evidence that their survival was not because of the Silver Pack.â Elder Gauss
finished his explanation and returned to his position, no longer intending to elaborate his
explanation.
âIt seems that there is more to the Silver Pack that we donât know.â I calmly uttered while pretending
to understand that Gauss and Alpha Kain no longer wanted me to know about Silver Pack.
However, I took note of their words and expressions as this hinted that there was indeed a traitor
within the Silver Pack at that time.
All these years we tried to clean up the entire pack to figure out and see who could have been that
traitor who allowed enemies to come near us without warning.
However, before we could have a chance to interrogate them all, they chose to commit suicide and
have never told us who the mastermind is. That also meant that it was difficult for them to inform
about what happened within the pack afterwards.
But hearing about it again now in the enemy's own mouth, it seems like there really were more
people involved in this matter than we really thought.
âVery well... Among this list of leads, do you have any suggestions about where we shall start?â I
looked at Alpha Kain and asked.
Alpha Kain leaned back on his chair as he uttered, âStart with Alpha Airaâs pack. If there's anything
suspicious irregardless of whether they are connected to this case or not. I don't intend to keep the
people I already suspect.â
"Alpha Aira..." I acted as if trying to remember who this was, âAh, that Alpha who had the same vial
as mine? My Lord, you seemed so obsessed about her being a traitor. If it isn't impudent, may you
tell me why?â
Alpha Kain's eyes flashed with a dangerous light as he took a pen from his table and snapped it into
pieces while saying, âThat woman has never been able to look me in the eye back then...â
âBut for some reason at the banquet, she suddenly had the guts to look at me directly. Tell me, what
could have been the cause of her sudden change, Alpha Sabre?â At this moment, there was a subtle
hostility in his eyes as he looked at me.
At that moment I felt he was testing me, âI see... It seems like I have acted unnecessarily at that
moment. I apologize for not seeing your intentions, My Lord.â
Seeing me say these words with a bow, Alpha Kain's face seemed to have eased up as he answered,
âI donât blame you that time for it was your first time seeing the people around. But remember this,
Alpha Sabre, I won't forgive the same fault twice!â
