Chapter 179
Fated For Lycan's Luna
Blake
"Oohhh... I forgot that you are still around Sabre...â As I was deep in my thoughts, Alpha Kain woke
me from it and let out an amused chuckle.
âPardon! Pardon! I could not resist when my WIFE was around... You know when they say strong
wolves do have a strong sense of possessiveness over their own territory.. Isn't it Alpha Sabre?â
Alpha Kain let out an amused chuckle as he looked toward me as if waiting to see my reaction.
âI don't dare to interrupt, Alpha Kain... besides it is as you said.â I replied by forcing myself to speak
in a neutral tone.
My heart, my entire being is filled with disgust, rage and betrayal as I forced myself to keep
standing submissively while visibly uncomfortable. I kept my head down avoiding to watch what
they were doing, not because I wanted to show them respect but because I might not be able to
suppress my anger over the entire situation
Alpha Kain saw through my discomfort yet he appeared to be even more pleased when he heard
my reply. He let out a hearty laugh as he started to say these words with the intention of bragging;
"Sabre, you might be wondering who she is... but let me tell you. My lovely wife was even the most
trusted confidant of the so-called Lycan King five years ago!â
âT-the rumored Lycan King of the Silver Pack?â My breathing froze when I heard these words from
his mouth. In the back of my mind, I could already see what his next words would be.
âIndeed! And did you know? That so-called Lycan King chose that wolfless woman over her because
of an old fashioned tradition of having mates?! Hahaha that foolish Lycan King!"
âDid he not already know that oneâs companion affects the strengths of the Alphas directly? How
come he was so blinded to choose and even go crazy to protect that woman who was even
banished from her father's pack, Chloe?â
As I thought, the next thing he would say would be the mockery of my mate Chloe and the betrayal
of Lyra.
All of them, laid out to my face, with only the mask protecting me from the myriad of emotions I am
feeling right now.
âHah! That Lycan King deserved to fall to my hands! It is a good thing that my wife chose to follow
me back then, or else, she would still be held back by that love sick king! Hah! Even until the end, he
was not able to figure out how his pack fell so easily with just a bit of my plans?!â
âIt is only right for me to take her as my prize! A perfect mockery for a foolish Alpha like him!â
"I bet he was still hiding with the remnants of his pack trying to think of ways to revive his clan. But
what could he do without an heir or his âmateâ who also eventually left him? Hahaha! Ridiculous!â
âBlake... let's hold back... the situation isn't good. If you allow your rage to let loose even a little bit,
the two of them will know...â While listening to ALpha Kain's mocking, my vision darkened as I could
already see blood.
Every bit of my being wanted to rush toward Alpha Kain and rip his mouth so that I could no longer
hear his voice and see his mocking.
However, Eron repeatedly reminded me to suppress my anger and hold on. For now that Lyra is in
the picture, no one knows what could happen.
And just like Kain said, with a strong companion on one side, our powers will grow exponentially. So
who is to say that Lyra's strength would still be the same as she was before?
Eron knew that once they knew who I was, I would have little to no chance of surviving with them
facing me head on.
With that, I swallowed my anger and grievance, clenching my fist tightly to stay sober. Using my last
bit of sanity, I did my best to survive the rest of the conversation without being intoxicated with the
hostility I want to let loose.
"Alright, I shall let you be... 1 will call you back again shortly with the elders for any orders.â
Seemingly getting bored of my lack of reaction, Alpha Kain lazily waved his hands to dismiss me off
the throne room.
With his signal, I bade my farewell and turned around to go toward the exit where the detestable
looking elder was still waiting.
However, just as I was a few steps away from the exit, I heard Lyraâs voice, "Wait, Alpha Sabre!â
Suppressing the coldness I could feel in my heart, I turned back slowly and asked, âIs there anything,
Alpha Kain's queen?â
Alpha Kain seemed to have not expected Lyra to halt my movements, instantly a dangerous glimmer
subtly emitted from his expression even if he was still holding Lyra.
"Alpha Sabre, I just have a question and it is so seldom for me to see Alphas at your caliber apart
from my husband...â
Alpha Kain seemed to be appeased with his words, but his eyebrows raised as if he was interested
about what Lyra is about to say.
"As away, Alpha Kain's queen.â I obliged.
"What do you think of my choice of betraying the fallen Alpha and being with the strongest of the
entire werekind?â Lyra asked with eyes full of scrutiny and suspicion.
My heart sank when I heard the question and I felt a little bit panicked. It seems like Lyra was
suspecting my identity as Alpha Sabre. But how could it be?
We've planned long enough to ensure that we would not be detected even by our scents. I also did
my best to swallow the anger I could feel from the moment I stepped into this damning territory.
Her question is a trick question.
It wasn't even a test to see if I was loyal or not.
If 1 answered in favor of her, both she and Alpha Kain would have suspicion toward my identity as
Alpha Sabre. It is known that this clan do not care about these things at all and are not even
interested in the honor of someone other than his own.
To give praise to someone he had just met would be out of âAlpha Sabre'sâ character.
On the other hand, to directly oppose her in this situation would humiliate Alpha Kain. If I disagree
with her choice, that is tantamount in saying that Alpha Kain's choice is also dishonorable.
And so I have to answer this question in such a way that it will please both of them and not
undermine the persona of Alpha Sabre.
I thought for a while before opening my mouth to answer, âYour inquiry is rather difficult to
answer..."
"However... in this world, the strong is absolute. Whether one would argue that oneâs principle is not
honorable, in the end, the strong shall prevail.â
âGood answer!â Alpha Kain seemed to have been pleased with my answer as he let out a chuckle.
There was a slight frown in Lyraâs face but she fortunately eased her suspicion toward me.
But none of them thought that my answer was actually not given to please them, but to actually
challenge them who was now sitting where they deemed was the highest seat.
The strong is absolute... and in no time, Chloe and I shall prevail.
Because no matter how hard they try to obtain power through these means... Chloe and I will soon
face them with everything we have at hand.
And I have faith that we are the strong ones!
