Chapter 106 No wonder youre so scared of ghosts

By the time Lu Yifeng went down the stairs, he was dressed casually for the date they have. He was wearing a simple white shirt and a v-neck gray cashmere sweater on top. His medium length jet-black hair that was neatly pulled back earlier was now on its natural messy state. He had a high nose bridge, his thin lips were slightly curled up into a small smile and his cold eyes was clear and sparkling as if he has a galaxy inside his eyes.

Xia Meilin couldn’t help but admire his tall and lean figure. This was his usual look whenever he’s at home. Despite that, he always has this majestic air around him, but for some reason, he seemed much younger than usual this time.

"Let’s go." His low and deep voice snapped her out of her thoughts.

He held her hand and headed out of their place.

"Where are we going first?" Lu Yifeng asked by the time they entered the car.

"Cinema." Xia Meilin grinned. "We’re going to watch movies first."

When they arrived at the Palace Cinema, the movie that Xia Meilin decided to watch was a horror movie. Even if Xia Meilin was scared of ghosts, she actually loves watching horror movies because of the storyline.

"I’ll buy the tickets, you go buy a bucket of popcorn and drinks." Xia Meilin said with a smile before she went to fall in line in the ticket booth.

Lu Yifeng stared at her for a short while before he went and did what she told him.

The girls that saw Lu Yifeng couldn’t help but stare at him and whisper with one another. He was so handsome that he was getting the attention of every girl around the place.

Even if Xia Meilin was a famous pianist, teenagers don’t usually know her since they would usually go to famous singers instead of a pianist.

After buying the tickets, Xia Meilin went to Lu Yifeng. They went inside the movie theater and went to sit on the last row of the room.

It didn’t take long before the movie started. The movie was filled with jump scares which made Xia Meilin become so jumpy on her seat and because of this, she ended up letting go of the bucket of popcorn she was holding just to cover her eyes.

While she was looking at the screen through the space between her fingers, she suddenly felt chills running down her spine.

This made Xia Meilin turn to Lu Yifeng, she covers her mouth as she gasps in surprise. "S-Sorry..."

The popcorn was all over him. He was looking at her with a blank face, though in spite of that, Xia Meilin could feel the thick aura of self-restraint around him, it was simply lethal...

She froze and remained in the same position. The way Lu Yifeng looked at her was making her nervous. This was scarier than the movie she was currently watching!

"Why do you even watch something like this when you’re obviously scared of those ugly looking actors?" His cold and hoarse voice radiated as he narrowed his eyes slightly. He was not enjoying this kind of date. "No wonder you’re so scared of ghosts."

She swallowed hard as she tried to think of something. She turned away to avoid his cold stare and stuttered, "I-I just... find it fun to watch how the main leads try to defeat those scary ghosts... A-Also... the storyline is really good..."

What kind of reasoning was that? Lu Yifeng couldn’t help but massage the bridge of his nose because of his weird wife. He dusted off the popcorn that was all over him.

Xia Meilin bit her lower lip. Despite all the screams coming from the other people that are in the theater, her attention was focused on her husband. She almost forgot that her husband can be scarier than the ghosts in the movies! She needs to do something to appease Lu Yifeng!

Lu Yifeng stood up and looked at her, "We’re leaving." He turned and started heading out of the exit.

She quickly went and followed him out, she clung to his arm, "Darling..."

He just gave her a glance before he looked ahead as they walked out of the cinema together. He didn’t say anything to her, he was just being quiet like the usual.

"Darling, don’t be mad. What happened earlier was an accident. Ah, wait. You forgot to remove this." She reached out and took the piece of popcorn that was sticking on his hair.

Seeing how Xia Meilin munched the popcorn she picked made Lu Yifeng sigh. "Are you hungry?"

Xia Meilin’s eyes sparkled as she nodded at him. She grinned, "I know a place where we can eat a different kind of food! I want to eat some candied apple!"

"That’s not a proper meal for dinner."

"How about an apple pie?"

Lu Yifeng turned to her with a look that was saying ’are you seriously asking me that?’

Xia Meilin pursed her lips. She knows that Lu Yifeng wouldn’t allow her to have one with the way he was looking at her. She was about to insist when she suddenly remembered something, "Ah! How about apple pork ribs soup? It’s healthy and delicious. I know a place where we can eat some."
