Chapter 143 Im not going anywhere

"How old is she?"

Lu Yifeng blinked a few times upon hearing the question of his wife from the other line. "She is twenty-six, why do you ask?"

She is the same age as her? Xia Meilin furrowed her brows. "Is she dating someone?"

"No."

"Is she married?"

"She’s single."

Xia Meilin clenched her fists tight. "Who else is in that house?"

"Her friend." Lu Yifeng couldn’t help but wonder what she was getting to. Why is she asking these questions?

"Tell me the gender of her friend."

"Girl."

He’s living in a house with two girls in it? Xia Meilin’s face darkened at this. "Are they beautiful?"

"Huh?" He was caught off guard with her question.

She gritted her teeth in annoyance, "They are, right? Well then, Mr. Lu. I advice you to get out of that house and live in a hotel instead!"

"Oh..." Lu Yifeng suddenly came into realization and because of this, he ended up smiling. "Are you jealous?"

"I-I’m not! It’s just... I think it won’t be safe for you to live there with two girls." She pouted.

"Not safe for me?" He asked with an amused tone in his voice.

"Yes. I trust you but I don’t trust those girls. What if they attack you while you’re asleep? Women are dangerous, Lu Yifeng. You shouldn’t live together with them. What if they poison your food? What if they tie you up while you’re asleep? What if-"n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

"Okay, okay, I get it." He chuckled. He can clearly tell that she was jealous. "I will leave after dinner then."

"No! Don’t eat their food! What if they put something in it? You should be careful!"

He ended up laughing lightly because of her words.

Xia Meilin frowned when he heard his laugh. "Lu Yifeng, what’s so funny? I’m serious!"

Lu Yifeng pursed his lips as he tried to stop his laugh. He cleared his throat before he said: "Okay, I will do what you want if it’ll put you at ease."

Besides, he doesn’t want to argue with her since she was pregnant. He doesn’t want her to spit out fire because of her unbalanced hormones.

Xia Meilin sighed in relief. She knew that if Lu Yifeng said something, he will do it, that’s why she trusted his words. "Oh yeah, before I forget, Ning-ge wants to see me."

It suddenly became quiet in the other line when she mentioned of Feng Ning and this made Xia Meilin nervous. "You should trust me, okay?"

"I trust you but I don’t trust him." Lu Yifeng repeated the words she said earlier.

She pursed her lips since he used that card against her, "So... it’s a no?"

She suddenly heard a sigh from the other line before Lu Yifeng said: "I can allow you to meet him but you need to bring someone with you. Don’t meet him without a companion, understand?"

Her eyes sparkled in delight when she heard what he said. She was happy not because of he allowed her but because he was trusting her. "Don’t worry, he’ll be meeting me here in the house."

Lu Yifeng’s face darkened when he heard how happy she sounded. Did she missed him that much? Does she still love him? She does, right? He was her first love after all. First love are hard to end.

"Lu Yifeng?"

"Yifeng?"

"Darling, are you still there?"

He was snapped out from his trance when he heard her voice from the other line. "Yes, I’m still here."

She chuckled, "Are you worried?"

"Mm." What is she tried running away from him again? She has this tendency whenever it comes to Feng Ning.

"You don’t have to, you know." She said softly. "I already have two handsome men in my life, why would I add someone inferior from you and our Xiao Gua?"

He ended up chuckling at this. "So are you saying that if you find someone more handsome than us then you’ll add him to your list of men?"

"So far, I haven’t saw anyone on par with my husband and my son’s handsomeness. Hm... maybe if we will have another son?"

"I prefer adding up the girls in our house." He smiled.

"We can talk about that once you come back." She chuckled softly. She was relieved that the tone of his voice came back to its normal gentleness.

"Should I come back tonight?"

"I would love that but you have a work to attend. Just make sure to bring us some gifts once you arrive home."

"I will."

She couldn’t help but feel warm whenever she talks with him. "I miss you already."

"I miss you too."

"Now get out of that place. The earlier you leave, the more rest you’ll have."

"Yes mam."

By the time the call ended, Xia Meilin went back to her room and saw Little Melon sitting on the bed and was hugging the teddy bear. His face was buried on it and soft sobs were heard from him.

She suddenly felt worried when she saw him like this. She walked towards him and sat on the side of the bed. "Baby?"

Little Melon quickly raised his head and looked at her. "Momma!" He went and hugged her close as he cried.

Xia Meilin hugged him back. She gently stroked his head before asking: "What’s wrong? Did you have a bad dream?"

Little Melon nodded,"Mello dreamed of momma, momma was gone! Dada and Mello were looking for momma but we can’t find momma! Mello woke up and saw momma gone! Please don’t go momma!" He said between sobs.

"That was just a dream. I won’t go anywhere." She held his face with both hands and kissed his forehead gently. "I’m not going anywhere."

"Promise?"

"Promise." She wiped his face dry before she stood up. "Do you want to help me make breakfast?"

Little Melon nodded and smiled a bit. "Okay." He held her hand and they both headed downstairs. "Momma, Mello doesn’t want to go to school today."

"Just because you don’t feel like going to school doesn’t means you have to skip your class today, sweetheart." She patted his head. She turned and took a chair for Little Melon to stand by the kitchen’s sink.

He pouted cutely as he climbed up the chair. "But Mello wants to be with momma."

"Mommy wants to be with Xiao Gua too." She chuckled as she started getting the ingredients for their breakfast.

He looked at her her and puffed out his cheeks.

Xia Meilin turned to Little Melon when she noticed that he became quiet. She smiled when she saw him acting this cute. "It’s still a no, baby." She leaned and placed a soft peck on his lips.

"Mommaaaa..." He whined.

"Babbbyyy~" She nuzzled his nose which made him giggle. She leaned back and grinned at him. "Let’s wash the veggies, okay?"
