Chapter 161 See you there, handsome

After buying the clothes, Xia Meilin’s bodyguards were the one who carried the things that she bought.

Yes, her bodyguards were around every time she went out although they were in their casual clothes to blend in with the others. They would only show up whenever their Madam needs help with something.

Earlier, when Ren Shiyuan arrived, Zhao Junxu, Guo Boyun, and Xu Fulai couldn’t help but be surprised when they saw him again. They didn’t expect him to be there.

"The runway is on next week, right?" Xia Meilin asked while walking beside Ren Shiyuan.

"Yup~ Are you going to attend?" He grinned at her.

"Maybe..." Xia Meilin took a quick glance at Nian Jiezhen. If Nian Jiezhen decided to attend the runway, then she will be able to find out about Ren Shiyuan’s real gender... that is if she’ll be able to recognize him in his male appearance.

Nian Jiezhen, Little Melon, and Ren Shiyuan ended up looking at her when they heard her.

"Momma?"

Little Melon’s voice brought her back from her thoughts. Xia Meilin suddenly noticed how her companions were giving her a weird look.

Nian Jiezhen and Ren Shiyuan took a quick glance at each other before they turned away. They only have one thought in their minds: Xia Meilin was definitely thinking of something bad.

"Momma, what are you thinking?" Little Melon asked curiously.

"Your daddy." She smiled and patted his head.

Nian Jiezhen’s face became sour while the smile that Ren Shiyuan has on his face faded at the mention of Lu Yifeng.

Ren Shiyuan still has feelings for Xia Meilin but he wasn’t that persistent towards her like before. As long as he can still approach her then being ’friends’ with her was fine. He lied when he told Li Bingbing and Xia Meilin about throwing his feelings away. If he didn’t say that, then Xia Meilin would have probably continued to avoid him. He was planning to make her fall for him even if the process was slow. He was serious when he said that he didn’t mind Xia Meilin being a married woman since there’s always divorce.

Meanwhile, Nian Jiezhen still hates it whenever Xia Meilin was talking about Lu Yifeng. It still hurts her whenever she thinks of their relationship since Nian Jiezhen honestly loved Lu Yifeng.

Just as Nian Jiezhen and Ren Shiyuan were thinking Lu Yifeng, they never expected to see the man himself when they went out of the mall.

Lu Yifeng went out from the black Rolls-Royce car. He was there to pick up his wife and son.

"Darling!" Xia Meilin couldn’t help but smile happily when she saw him. She went and gave him a hug. "Are you done with your work?"

"Yes." His lips slightly curled up as he bowed his head and kissed her forehead. "I’ve come to pick you up." Then he turned to Little Melon and patted his head. "Good work in watching over your mother."

Little Melon grinned when he received a praise from his father.

Ren Shiyuan’s eyes narrowed as he stared at Lu Yifeng. Lu Yifeng wasn’t an easy opponent. If he was going to steal Xia Meilin away, he needs to level up his game.

Nian Jiezhen clenched her fists inside her coat’s pockets as she watched how gentle Lu Yifeng was to Xia Meilin. Even if she was jealous, it wasn’t obvious on her face. She forced out a smile as she approached them, "I was wondering when you’ll come and pick them up."

"Thank you for watching over them. Come, we’ll drop you off to your place." Lu Yifeng offered.

Xia Meilin turned to Nian Jiezhen and glared at her while she was hugging Lu Yifeng in a protective manner.

He’s hers! Stay away! This was what Xia Meilin’s look was telling Nian Jiezhen.

Nian Jiezhen couldn’t help but inwardly roll her eyes when she saw this.

"No thanks, I still have to pass by somewhere." She said softly before she took a step away from them.

"You should bring someone with you." Lu Yifeng turned to Zhao Junxu. "Accompany her."

Nian Jiezhen laughed lightly at this, "I don’t need someone to accompany me. Don’t worry, Yifeng-ge ge, I’m not a small and weak girl."

"She can handle herself. Let’s go home, darling." Xia Meilin pouted.

"Mm."

Xia Meilin turned to Ren Shiyuan who was quiet the whole time. "We’ll be attending the fashion show next week."

Ren Shiyuan let out a smile. "Great~! I will expect you there then!"

Lu Yifeng turned to Ren Shiyuan with a blank look on his face.

Ren Shiyuan turned to Lu Yifeng and smiled. He gave him a wink and blew him a kiss. "See you there, handsome."

Lu Yifeng turned away and ignored him.

Xia Meilin glared dangerously at Ren Shiyuan when she saw what he did. Did he want her to pluck his eyes out and sew his lips?!

When Ren Shiyuan noticed Xia Meilin’s angry glare, Ren Shiyuan back off.

"Let’s go." Lu Yifeng said.

"Bye bye sister Jiezhen! Sister Yunxi!" Little Melon waved at them before he entered the car.

Nian Jiezhen and Ren Shiyuan watched them enter the car and leave.

Nian Jiezhen sighed and turned away. She should probably go home and distract herself by watching movies instead. Her eyes started to become blurry because of the tears that formed but she refused to let them spill. She wasn’t going to cry just because she got her heart broken, she was stronger than that. This was what she told herself to keep herself calm.

"Where do you plan on going?" Ren Shiyuan asked as he walked towards her. "A girl like you shouldn’t walk alone, especially when it’s about to get dark soon. You’ll need someone to protect you."

Nian Jiezhen chuckled a bit. "You’re a girl yourself." She inhaled deeply before she faced him and smiled. "I’m pretty sure I can protect you better so I’ll drop you to your place instead."n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Ren Shiyuan didn’t say anything but instead, he just smiled at her.
