Little Melon squinted his eyes as he looked at them as if he was trying to see if they were really telling the truth or not but when he saw that they were okay now, he finally let out a happy smile. "Good! Momma and sister Jiezhen should always be like this!"

Lu Yifeng knew that it will take time for them to get in a better relationship, but this was better than nothing. He patted Little Melon’s head before he turned to them. "We should get going."

Xia Meilin felt like tearing up when he said that. She went to him and hugged her husband. "Please take care of yourselves. Don’t forget to call me every day, okay?"

He gently stroked her head before he bowed his head and placed a soft kiss on her temple. "I’ll give you a call whenever I’m free."

Xia Meilin nodded then turned to Little Melon. Since she had a hard time bending, Lu Yifeng carried his son and with this, the mother and son hugged each other. "Mello will call momma too."

She chuckled, "Yes, I would really love that." She kissed his forehead. "Never talk to strangers, okay? If someone tries to approach you and he looks like a bad person-no, even if he looks like a good person, don’t trust him. You should punch him in his crotch and run to a place full of crowds if you noticed anything strange. Remember the moves that sister Jiezhen taught you, okay? Never skip a meal and always sleep early."

Little Melon patted her back lightly, "Don’t worry, momma. Mello remembers them all."

"Bye momma! Bye sister Jiezhen!" Little Melon waved before he walked away with his father. They climbed the stairs and entered the private jet plane they have.

Nian Jiezhen patted Xia Meilin’s back lightly. "They’ll be fine."

"I really hope so..."

The two women stayed there and watched as the private jet plane started to take off. When the plane left, they went back to their car.

"Let’s go home. "Xia Meilin said to Dong Hua who was on the driver’s seat.

"Nian Jiezhen, when do you plan on going back to work?" Xia Meilin couldn’t help but ask as soon as they got home.

She was a special agent, right? Aren’t they usually busy?

"I’ll be going back next week." She hanged her coat on the coat rack before she turned to Xia Meilin and asked, "Are you hungry? I bought an apple cake earlier for you."

Xia Meilin blinked a few times. Did she take note of her cravings? Hm... maybe Nian Jiezhen wasn’t that bad.

"I’ll have a slice." Xia Meilin replied as she followed Nian Jiezhen to the kitchen.

Nian Jiezhen took out the round cake from the refrigerator and sliced a piece. She transferred it to a plate before she placed it on the table.

Xia Meilin sat on the chair and took her fork. She smiled happily when she saw the slice of the delicious looking apple cake.

Nian Jiezhen poured warm water in a glass before she gave it to Xia Meilin.

"Thanks." Xia Meilin said with a smile. She was in a better mood now. "By the way, why were you on leave for three weeks?"

"I got stabbed in the last case." She said honestly. Nian Jiezhen wasn’t trying to hide it from anyone anyway so if they ask, she was giving them an honest answer.

Xia Meilin looked at her in surprise, "Stabbed?"

"Yes. We were working with an abduction case." Nian Jiezhen said while she was making herself some hot chocolate. "And then things went wrong, we never expected that the unsub... uh... the culprit has a partner so I was caught off guard by his partner."

"Did you manage to catch the bad guys?" Xia Meilin asked curiously, her eyes full of interest about it.

When Nian Jiezhen saw how Xia Meilin looked, she chuckled. Now she knows where Little Melon inherited his curiousness. "Yes, we caught them."

"Wow... you have a cool job. Although it’s dangerous... you’re actually saving a lot of people by catching them."

"Mm... that’s why I love my work."Nian Jiezhen smiled. She worked hard to get to where she was that’s why she was not going to quit it even if it was dangerous.

While they were having their conversations, Nian Jiezhen’s phone started ringing. When she looked at the caller ID, it was from an unknown number. She went out of the kitchen before Nian Jiezhen answered the call and placed her phone against her ear. "Hello?"

"You answered."

Nian Jiezhen furrowed her brows. "Who’s this?"

"It’s me, Ren-..." He paused for a short while before he continued. "Ren Yunxi."

Nian Jiezhen’s shoulders relaxed when she heard his name. "How did you get my number?"

"Well... I might have peeked on your phone and took your number?" He chuckled a bit.
