Chapter 72 Suffer a great loss?

When Feng Ning left, the atmosphere around Lu Yifeng and Xia Meilin was awkward. Lu Yifeng wasn’t saying anything and this was making her feel more guilty.

"Y-Yifeng... I’m sorry for not telling you about this." Xia Meilin apologized in almost a whispering voice.

Lu Yifeng was still quiet. He continued eating while putting some food on her plate from time to time.

She pursed her lips as she looked at him. She turned back to her food and decided to continue eating.

After they finished the food, Lu Yifeng wiped his lips with a napkin before he stood up and started walking towards the exit of the restaurant.

Xia Meilin was in a panic. She ended up paying for the food before she hurriedly runs after him. "Yifeng, wait!"

Su Lei opened the door of the backseat for his boss.

Lu Yifeng entered the car. Afraid that he was going to leave her, she quickly entered the car and sat beside him.

"Yifeng." She held his arm. "I’m really sorry."

But still, he gave her a cold shoulder.

Su Lei gulped nervously. Will his madam be able to pacify the boss? He started driving back to the company.

"Yifeng, Yifeng, Lu Yifeng!" She started shaking his arm.

When he turned his head to her, he gave her a cold glare which silences her up. But even with this, she refused to let go of his arm. "Yifeng... please don’t act this way. I’m really sorry you know."

In the end, Lu Yifeng continued to give her a silent treatment which was starting to get her worried. Lu Yifeng may be a quiet person but he would always give his attention to her, he has never ignored her like this. She was not used to this silent treatment he was giving her.

He was quiet until they arrived at his company. She followed him in while she continued to hold his arm.

The workers in the place were stunned when they saw a beautiful woman, walking beside their boss.

This was a first. They all know their boss was married to a famous pianist, but... this was their first time in seeing their Boss Lady in person! They look so good with each other! A handsome man and a beautiful woman together was candy for everyone’s eyes.

Lu Yifeng’s office was on the topmost floor of the building. As they entered the private elevator that Lu Yifeng would always use, it was quiet between them.

Su Lei took the public elevator. He doesn’t want to be a third wheel for Lu Yifeng and Xia Meilin. If they ended up doing something in the elevator to makeup, he doesn’t want to see it!

Since Xia Meilin couldn’t take it anymore. Xia Meilin went in front of him and cornered him, kabedon style. It was funny since she was cornering a person that was taller than her.

Lu Yifeng couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow in amusement as he looks down at his small wife. She looks like a kitten who’s trying to corner a big lion.

Even though with this reaction coming from him, his lips were still sealed.

"Tell me, what can I do to make you forgive me?" She glared at him. "I know that it’s my fault but if you were there, you would have ruined everything!"

Indeed, he would have ruined everything by not allowing Feng Ning to speak.

’Ding!’

The elevator doors slide open. She didn’t want to let him go but because they have reached the floor of his office, she moved aside while sulking. He still wasn’t speaking to her.

He walked past her and she followed behind him.

When they entered his huge office, what greeted them both was the sight of Bai Xiu Ying!

Bai Xiu Ying was sitting by the sofa but when she heard the door open, expecting that it was Lu Yifeng, she stood up and started walking towards him the moment he entered.

Bai Xiu Ying increased her walk’s speed and by the time she stood in front of Lu Yifeng, she gave him a hug. "Welcome back, Yifeng~"

Despite the blank look on his face, Lu Yifeng’s brows furrowed with the hug that Bai Xiu Ying gave him.

Xia Meilin saw all this and she couldn’t help but feel something weird in her chest. "Ms. Bai. Please know your ground."

Bai Xiu Ying pulled away from Lu Yifeng and turned to Xia Meilin.

She frowned. What was she doing here? Shouldn’t she be with someone else? Shouldn’t she be destroyed by Lu Yifeng now?

Bai Xiu Ying was actually the person who sent the photos to Lu Yifeng. Her car was passing by near Xia Meilin’s studio at that time when she suddenly noticed Xia Meilin being dropped there.

Seeing that her movements were strange, Bai Xiu Ying followed her to the airport and she ended up seeing Feng Ning and Xia Meilin together. She took a photo of them before she followed them to the restaurant and took another one before she left.

Using her other phone, she sent these photos to Lu Yifeng. Thinking that Lu Yifeng will definitely kick her out once he finds his wife cheating on him!

This was a good opportunity for her. She came to his company and went to his office by using the private elevator. She waited in his office without anyone knowing. She was planning to ’comfort’ Lu Yifeng once he arrives. A man with a broken heart is a man who will accept any comfort from someone else.

"Oh, sorry, Ms. Xia. You’re so small that I wasn’t able to see you." Anyway, even if she was here, she can still make her leave.

Bai Xiu Ying was taller than Xia Meilin. Xia Meilin was just 5’5 while Bai Xiu Ying was 5’11.

Xia Meilin’s eyes turned cold when she said this. The smile on her face didn’t leave her lips and this made her more intimidating. "For now, let this serve as a warning."

Bai Xiu Ying’s face became red in fury. How dare she speak to her this way?! A measly woman like her has the audacity to say such things?!

Because of her uncontrollable anger, she raised her hand and was about to slap Xia Meilin but Lu Yifeng caught her wrist. He was giving her a deadly glare. "Are you trying to hit my wife in front of me?"

His hold tightened around her wrist which made Bai Xiu Ying flinch in pain. "Yifeng... it hurts..."

"Have I given you permission to address me that way? How impudent of you." The menacing glare and the iciness in his voice made her step back.

Xia Meilin gently rubbed his arm, "Yifeng. Let this serve as a warning for her."

He let go of Bai Xiu Ying’s wrist. "Be thankful to my wife, Ms. Bai. Next time you try something like this, I will not let it go so easily even if you belong to the Bai family."

"You’re willing to go against the Bai family for this woman?" This time she didn’t dare say anything outrageous to them. She was rubbing her wrist which was now red. "The Lu family will suffer a great loss, Lu Yifeng."

"Suffer a great loss? Don’t make me laugh." Lu Yifeng placed his hand on Xia Meilin’s waist. The only ’great loss’ he will suffer is if Xia Meilin leaves him.

Even if the Bai family stands on the same level as the Lu family, the Lu family is still the family that is considered the first because of their great influence in the country and in some parts of the world. They even ruled the underworld because of Lu Xian Yu.

"Su Lei, take her away."

Su Lei, who was standing behind the whole time finally made a move by approaching Bai Xiu Ying. "Ms. Bai."

Bai Xiu Ying gave Xia Meilin one last look, glaring coldly at her before she left with Su Lei. She never knows that Xia Meilin was able to affect Lu Yifeng this much. It looks like she needs to start with her plans before it’ll be too late for her.
