Chapter 1006
The Ex-Husband's Revenge
âIris has always been loyal to you, yet you have betrayed her like a beast!â Gilbert roared with a dark expression.
âUncle Gilbert, itâs not what you think,â Leon hastily attempted to explain himself, but was interrupted by Gilbert right away.
âForget it. We all saw what happened. Thereâs no way you can talk your way out of this!â Gilbert shouted and turned to look at Iris with frustration. âIris, I told you a long time ago that you shouldnât trust him, but you just wonât listen. Well? Have you finally seen him for who he truly is?â
âLeon, you disappoint me!â Iris shot Leon a sorrowful look and headed outside.
âIris, donât go. Let me explain,â Concerned, Leon got up to run after Iris, but was too weak to get out of bed.
âYou had this coming!â Gilbert snorted, before leaving.
âLeon, good luck!â Louisa sighed and shook her head, before following the two.
âYou scum! This is the price for taking advantage of me just now!â Ruth glared at Leon and left.
She never intended to cause conflicts between Iris and Leon, but Leon accidently took her first kiss.
Though it was only on the cheek, it was her first time kissing a man and she refused to let him go unpunished.
âWhy is this happening?â Leon watched as Iris left and fell onto the bed helplessly in devastation.
Meanwhile, in the yard.
Iris was upset after leaving Leonâs room.
She did not want Leon to bring Ruth home and was worried that the two would develop feelings for one another.
Leon explained repeatedly that it was only so that he could help with Ruthâs training, so she agreed with it reluctantly. However, her worst fear turned into reality when she found Leon trying to make a move on Ruth.
Not only did Leon betray her, he also lied to her and she was devastated.
âDonât be upset, Iris. Leon isnât that kind of a man. Maybe this is just a misunderstanding,â Louisa consoled her.
Those in the eye of the storm were easily blinded to the truth, so Louisa knew that Iris simply cared too much about Leon to see the truth; but she was different and could tell that nothing happened between Leon and Ruth, or Ruth would have wreaked havoc by now.
âLouisa, stop defending that man! We all saw what happened. How can this be a misunderstanding?â
Gilbert said angrily.
âWe donât know that! You have both misunderstood Leon multiple times before and he has always been proven innocent in the end, hasnât he?â Louisa scoffed.
âYeah, she is right!â Irisâs eyes lit up as she felt like she saw clearer.
