Chapter 1317
The Ex-Husband's Revenge
âAndy, itâs normal to fail from time to time. Donât beat yourself up over it! Besides, you should still consider yourself talented for finding a piece of rock that contained flowerâgreen! We can just buy a few more high- end rocks to try our luck and we might just get a piece of topâquality jadeite!â Penny consoled him when she spotted the gloomy look on his face.
âYeah. Youâre right!â Andyâs spirit was instantly lifted.
Though he spent 345 thousand on the three highâend rocks he selected, he managed to sell the flowerâgreen at 600 thousand, so he technically made a profit from it. Though it was not a big amount to him, he still felt better that he did not waste his money.
âCome on, letâs go pick a few more rocks,â Penny grabbed Andy by the arm.
âThereâs no hurry! Leon was really confident that the lowâend rock he picked contained a piece of top-
quality jadeite. I would like to see if thatâs true!â Andy said and turned to Loen with a sneer. âLeon, all the rocks Iâve picked have been opened. Itâs your turn!â
âForget it, Andy! There are too many people around us. Iâll open it later,â Leon said hesitantly.
âWhy? Are you scared that you wonât get anything worthy and humiliate yourself?â Andy sneered.
âNot really! Iâm just worried that you might have a hard time salvaging your pride if I end up with a piece of topâquality jadeite,â Leon said.
The crowd all started to look down on Andy after two of the rocks he selected were determined to hold little to no value. If Leon managed to obtain a piece of topâquality jadeite with a lowâend rock, Andy would be the laughingstock of the entire shop.
Andy was Pennyâs fiancé and Leon did not want to humiliate Andy.
âWhy you!â Andy was furious. Though Leon meant well, it sounded sarcastic and Andy felt as though Leon was mocking him for not being able to find a piece of topâquality jadeite. âGet over yourself! I donât even know what gives you the confidence to think that you can get a piece of topâquality jadeite!â
He sneered.
âYeah! That young man is too arrogant!â
âThe young man from earlier spent 345 thousand on three highâend rocks and didnât get any topâ
quality jadeite, yet this guy thinks that he can get it with a lowâend rock that cost a few hundred!â
âHe must be crazy!â
Amused by Leonâs words, the others stared at Leon as though they were looking at a fool.
âWhy would you try to humiliate yourself like that?â Leon felt conflicted that Andy would not accept his gesture of kindness and was upset that the others mocked him because of it.
âEnough chitâchatting! Are you opening that rock up or not? If you donât have the gut to do so, quit bragging!â Andy scoffed.
âBut, alright, then! You asked for this, so donât blame me later,â Leon muttered with resignation.
Since everyone took him for a fool under Andyâs lead, Leon was forced to prove that he was not bragging.
