“Whatever! Since the Thompsons are already helping, there’s no place for us Scammells to get involved!” Patrick sighed gloomily.

He thought that Leon needed to rely on the Scammells‘ help to expand his company and was planning to use this as leverage to make Leon cut ties with Cynthia, Ruth, and Snow to focus on Iris. To his bewilderment, Leon managed to win the favor of the all–mighty Thompsons and did not need the Scammells‘ help at all.

The realization that he overestimated the Scammells‘ importance and underestimated Leon’s ability overwhelmed him with disappointment.

“Leon, there’s never too much advertising. Since Grandpa has agreed to help, let’s get the Scammells to help as well!” Iris said.

“Well, if it’s not too troublesome, I’d appreciate it,” Leon said.

“Forget it! The Scammells will stay out of this!” Patrick said coldly.

The Thompsons were the head of all powerful families in the southern region and since Angus already extended invitations to all families on behalf of the Thompsons, no one would dare to ignore the invitation. Hence, there was no reason for the Scammells to get involved.

“Dad, don’t say no to this just yet! I think that helping with the advertisement will work in our favor as well. We might be able to establish a connection with the Thompsons through Leon,” Damian said thoughtfully.

“Well,” Realization dawned on Patrick in response to Damian’s words.

The Scammells belonged to the middle class and they were hardly comparable to other families in terms of strength and connections, so it would benefit the Scammells if they were to utilize this chance and befriend the Thompsons.

“That’s a good idea! We’ll do that, then!” After a brief moment of thought, Patrick made the decision.

He thought that a foreigner like Leon would be in desperate need of the Scammells‘ help, yet the tables were turned and it was the Scammells who needed Leon’s help to get closer to the Thompsons.

Patrick felt slightly embarrassed but knew that he had to cast the embarrassment aside for the gain of his family.

“Leon, if there’s a chance, I want you to introduce me to Angus or Yuri Thompson. It’d be ideal if the Scammells can establish some type of business partnership with them,” Damian said with anticipation as he looked at Leon.

“Sure. That’s not a problem!” Leon said.

The Scammells were people he considered to be his family, so he was more than happy to assist if the Scammells wished to connect with the Thompsons.

“By the way, Leon, if the Thompsons are that powerful, do you think that they can help with getting the Angel’s Fruit from the Martells?” Iris asked.

Leon injured Charlie earlier, so it would no longer be possible for Patrick to help with purchasing the Angel’s Fruit. Thankfully, Leon happened upon the opportunity to save Roanne’s life and if the Thompsons were willing to help, there would be hope in obtaining the fruit.
