Chapter 2311
The Ex-Husband's Revenge
âFine. If you wonât leave, then stay! But be careful and stand back later to avoid getting into a fight,â
Leon reminded them thoughtfully.
âSure.â Iris, Cynthia, and the others nodded.
They knew that they held little to no power and could not be of help, so they planned to stay alert and avoid getting in Leonâs way.
âDad, what should we do now? The Southern Boss and Rodney framed Leon and even want to kill him now. This is far too much! You have to find a way to help him. We canât just watch as he, Iris, and the others die,â Roanne said worriedly, turning to Angus for help.
Angus sighed. âI understand, and I want to help him too, but our family is now divided, and your Grandpa Arthur wonât be able to help him resist the Southern Boss, and thatâs the precise reason why the Southern Boss dares to make a move.â
He knew very well that if it were in the past and the Thompsons fully supported Leon, the Southern Boss would have no power over Leon.
However, with both Arthur and August mistakenly believing that Leon was the culprit behind Yonasâs death, there was no way that they would be willing to assist Leon.
Without the support of Arthur and the Thompsonsâ second bloodline, members of the Thompsonsâ first bloodline alone would not be sufficient to fend off the Southern Boss.
âWhether Grandpa Arthur is willing to help or not, we have to give it a try. Itâs much better than sitting around and waiting for our doom,â Ruth said hesitantly.
Leon saved her life several times before, and she developed an admiration for him.
Since Leon planned to confront the Southern Boss with little chance of success, she could not just stand by and watch him die.
Yuri thought for a moment and suggested. âRuth is right! Dad, how about this? Grandfather has always favored and loved me more. Iâll go back to the family and try to convince him to help Mister Wolf fight against the Southern Boss and the Spears.â
âWell, thatâs a good idea! Iâll leave this matter to you! Also, you can tell Uncle Arthur that based on my and Mister Wolfs investigation, itâs highly likely that the Southern Boss and his son are the culprits behind Yonasâs death. Try to persuade him to assist Mister Wolf, and we will find evidence to put the case to rest afterward,â Angus instructed.
âYes, I understand.â Yuri nodded in agreement and then left.
After Yuri left, Leon walked over. âUncle Angus, thank you for your kindness. I have caused trouble for your family,â Leon could not help but express his gratitude to Angus.
He overheard the conversation between Angus, Ruth, and Yuri earlier, and he knew that Yuri went to persuade Arthur.
Originally, he planned to confront the Southern Boss alone and did not intend to involve the Thompsons, let alone ask Arthur for help. However, now that Iris and Cynthia refused to leave, Leon needed Angusâs help to ensure the safety of Iris, Cynthia, and the others.
With Angus and over a dozen skilled members of the Thompsonsâ first bloodline protecting them, Iris and Cynthiaâs safety would be assured.
As for Arthur and the second bloodline, it would be ideal if Yuri could convince Arthur to help and his chances of eliminating the Southern Boss would be significantly higher. Therefore, he ultimately did not refuse the kind offer from Angus.
