"Well,” Caleb fell into silence upon hearing Hugo’s words.

The profit Leon offered earlier was too low for the Morrisons to consider, but Hugo was right.

the alchemical pills sold by Cynthion Group held great potential and the Morrisons would only benefit from partnering with it. It would be foolish of him to miss this opportunity and refuse to work with Cynthion Group.

“Grandpa, this is a one-in-a-lifetime chance. You need to consider it more carefully,” Seeing the hesitation on his face, Hugo continued.

When he participated in Cynthion Group’s sales drive, Leon did not intend to expand his business to the western region at the time. It was Hugo who proposed to collect herbs for Leon and therefore fought for a chance for the Morrisons to work with Cynthion Group.

Everything was about to be finalized, yet Leon seemed ready to call off the deal due to issues with the profit division and the arrogant attitude the others put on.

For the sake of the family, Hugo could only try to convince Caleb, hoping that he would accept Leon’s terms to prevent such a great opportunity from slipping away.

“Hugo, what are you trying to do? Cynthion Group is just giving us twenty percent of its profit and won’t even offer us its company share! It’s clear that these people bear ill intentions, yet here you are defending them, trying to get your grandfather to agree to it. From the way I see it, Cynthion Group is probably paying you!” Before Caleb could come to a decision, Jayden scoffed.

“What?” Hugo was shocked as he did not expect Jayden to target him.

That completely caught him off-guard and the same went with Caleb and the others as well.

They all turned to stare at Hugo sharply.

Hugo was the first person who proposed the collaboration with Cynthion Group.

Though his initial intention was to fight for the family’s gain, the others started to suspect him after hearing what Jayden said.

The offer Cynthion Group gave was merely too low, yet Hugo defended an outsider and tried to get his family to accept such an unfavorable deal, so it all seemed suspicious.

Instantly, they were all influenced by Jayden and started suspecting that Hugo was bribed by Cynthion Group to defend them.

“No! Grandpa, I’m not defending Cynthion Group, nor did I get anything from them! I’m doing this for the future of our family and I have no selfish consideration,” Panicking, Hugo tried to defend himself.

“That’s enough! Say no more! Whether you have selfish intentions isn’t important! The offer Cynthion Group gave is just unacceptable for the Morrisons!” Caleb said, clearly deciding to accept advice from Jayden and the elders.
