“Nonsense! Cynthion Group is just a small pharmaceutical firm, so how can they make such a great profit? Hugo, do you have any proof to back your words up?” Jayden scoffed, still skeptical of what Hugo said.

Though he did not know much about Cynthion Group, he could name practically all families in power in the southern region, so he knew that Cynthion Group did not belong to any family.

Hence, he assumed that Cynthion Group was a newly established enterprise or simply had no fame, regardless, there was no way that Cynthion Group had such financial capability and it would not be realistic to assume they did.

Caleb and the elders came to a realization and turned to look at Hugo.

They agreed with Jayden and could not believe that a small pharmaceutical could make a profit that surpassed that of powerful families.

None of them were convinced that Cynthion Group was capable of that. Hence, they started to doubt Hugo and his words.

“I saw everything with my own eyes. What other proof do you need?” Hugo scowled.

He merely estimated Cynthion Group’s profit and could not tell if he was right. Moreover, he was hardly related to Cynthion Group in any way, so Leon could not possibly give him access to the company’s financial report. Hence, there was no way that he could find any physical evidence.

“That means you don’t have any evidence, then! If that’s the case, don’t say things that you’re not sure of! From what I can see, you were probably bribed by Cynthion to bluff in their place!” Jayden sneered sarcastically.

“Why you! Uncle, you can’t just accuse me without any proof! ” Hugo said angrily.

Jayden suspected that Hugo was bribed by Cynthion Group once and he was mentioning it again, so it was only natural that Hugo would lose his temper.

However, Jayden was his senior and without any evidence, Hugo was at a loss for words to defend himself.

“You know very well if I’m wrongfully accusing you! You simply shouldn’t say things when you don’t have evidence to back it up!” Jayden said.

Just then, Josiah, who remained quiet the entire time, chimed in, “Jayden’s right! It’s Hugo’s words against ours, and we can’t just believe everything he says!”
