The Ex-Husband's Revenge
The Ex-Husbandâs Revenge By Dragonsky Chapter 34 âIâve made it very clear that I wonât accept it! Are you deliberately trying to protect this kid, Miss Summers?â Josephâs expression sank. He insisted on handing Leon over to the police because that was the only way he could douse the burning flames of anger in his heart!
Ariel was irritated by Josephâs unrelenting insistence. Mister Conrad, Iâve repeatedly discussed this with you in an amicable manner and treated you with the utmost respect and dignity. Please donât cross the line!â
âLeon is Iri- I mean, my friend! The point is, this matter is now behind us regardless of whether or not you agree!â
Ariel was a little annoyed, more so because it was that time of the month. As a result, she could care less about whether or not it would cause an uproar.
Sure enough, her remark carried a different meaning when everyone else heard it.
âI The onlookers began to gossip as soon as Ariel said that.
âI get it now!â
××× guess itâs no surprise then that this kid was brave enough to challenge Mister Conrad. Who wouldâve thought that he was one of Miss Summersâs people!â
âTime to get the popcorn out!â
Everyone was taken aback by what they heard and started chatting with each other the next second.
No one expected Leon to be good at fighting, much less have a strong backer like Ariel!
The situation became even more complicated as a result.
âBravo, Ariel! I see that youâre trying to use your authority to put me down! You might be the presidentâs assistant, but Iâm not some pushover that you can just mess with! You and I are equals, and you canât be more delusional if you think you have any control over me!â
Joseph was furious. Though his authority was indeed inferior to Arielâs, his status was at least on par with hers.
Other people might be afraid of Ariel, but not him!
âAre you done with your nonsense? Let this be my warning to you, Joseph: my patience is limited, so donât push your luck any further!â Ariel shot back icily.
âDonât try and scare me, Ariel. I donât buy any of your threats! I know that you and the president are close. You donât need to hide it! Sheâs the kind to know right from wrong, and she always draws a clear boundary when it comes to matters of personal and professional nature! This kid right here has seriously violated the companyâs rules and regulations, and if you insist on covering for him, then donât blame me for reporting your abuse of power to her! When she eventually decides that you are at fault, I guarantee that youâll be the one to bear the consequences!â Joseph sneered and laced his words with threats.
âUngrateful, much! If you think youâve got what it takes, youâre more than welcome to report this incident to her. But allow me to remind you that thereâs nothing in it for you if this incident rattles the president!â Ariel sneered.
âYou brought this upon yourself! I donât believe everything you said, and Iâm quite certain that the president wonât be as fond of this kid as you are!â Joseph laughed despite his anger.
While he acknowledged that he was no match for Ariel, he knew that he would not gain a firm footing in the company if he could not deal with a pesky colleague like Ariel!
âSuit yourself, birdbrain! Letâs go, Leon!â Ariel snorted coldly, turned around, and brought Leon away without looking back.
âYouâve all seen how Ariel abused her power to cover up for that, right? Youâre all witnesses, so come with me to see the president!â
Joseph rallied everyone to join him as he charged angrily into the presidentâs office.
He knew very well that Arielâs behavior made her liable to be suspected of abusing her power. Iris would never protect Ariel when it came to matters of justice and integrity, and certainly not an insignificant little pest like Leon!
Inside the presidentâs office, Iris sat at her desk with some work.
Leon, Joseph, and the rest of the people rushed over one after another.
Iris was startled to see Leonâs disheveled look and injured hand. She got up and walked over to him.
âWhat happened to you, Leon?â
âMiss Young, Leon has committed grave acts of insubordination, even going so far as to injure me and several of our security guards. You have to do somethingâ¦
Joseph did not wait for Leon to answer and played the victim while giving a brief explanation of what happened.
âIs that true, Leon?â
Irisâs delicate expression sank and she turned her sharp gaze toward Leon.
She just warned Leon to focus on performing his duties, but in response, he turned the entire presidentâs department upside down as soon as he reported back!
Who would expect Iris to smile at him after what happened?
