The Ex-Husband’s Revenge By Dragonsky Chapter 819
The Ex-Husband's Revenge
âDonât worry. Iâll keep my promise! Come on and join me at the gathering!â Gilbert said confidently.
âOkay.â Iris nodded in relief, before pushing Gilbert out of the room in his wheelchair.
Meanwhile, in the main hall, all major members of the family, including Daisy and Royce, along with a f ew members of the Lowes who were invited, gathered around under the eldersâ instruction.
Just then, they all heard footsteps approaching and Iris appeared in the main hall by Gilbertâs side.
âQuiet down!â
Seeing that Gilbert entered the room, one of the elders started the gathering.
âThe elders have called for this gathering for two things! First of all, Iâm sure youâve all heard that Young Group was targeted by some vicious bandits and was at the brink of falling apart. Gilbert has risen to lead us through the crisis,â The elder explained and complemented Gilbert for his accomplishment.
All major members of the family knew everything that happened and as far as they were informed, You ng Group only managed to survive because Iris sold her own company and agreed to marry Jacob Low e in order to gain the support of the Lowes.
In conclusion, Gilbert only benefited from the sacrifices his daughter made.
The other members of the Youngs looked down on Gilbert after everything that happened, as he was hardly comparable to Jonah as a martial artist and fell short in terms of the sacrifices he made for the family compared to Iris.
The others struggled to accept Gilbert as their next leader.
âAlso, a family will be lost without a leader. With Albert bedâ
bound, we have decided that Gilbert, who has made great sacrifices for our family, will be appointed as
the new leader!â One of the elders announced and the others fell into silence.
Though Gilbertâs ability as an individual was questionable, he was Irisâs father and all of Irisâs sacrifices could be considered Gilbertâs accomplishments as well. In the end, he was the first in line for the positio n, so none of them argued with the decision.
âWeâll proceed with the ceremony now,â The elder said, before signaling the others to make way.
Iris pushed Gilbert forward in his wheelchair, when suddenly-
âHang on!â Harold stood out of the crowd.
âWhat is it, Northern King?â Gilbert scowled, an ominous feeling taking over him at Haroldâs interference right before he was assigned as the leader.
âMister Young, I believe that we have made a deal. You said that you will agree to marry your daughter to my son if we help you with the crisis your company faced! Since your company has stabilized, fulfill your promise and give me a confirmed answer right now!â Harold said.
âWell, thereâs no rush. We can discuss that after I become the leader of the Youngs!â Gilbert said hesitantly.
âNo way! There are orders to things and our deal of the marriage came first. You just have to agree to it here and it wonât take much time!â
