Divorce Has Never Felt This Good Chapter 111
Divorce Has Never Felt This Good
A few seconds after Devin started the car, Becky came to her senses and asked, âDevin?â
âYeah?â Devin answered her casually while driving, as if he didnât understand what Becky meant.
The wind coming from the window kept blowing against her face, which sobered her up quickly. âJust forget about it, Devin.â
Becky and Rory had divorced a long time ago. Wasnât it embarrassing to confront him because of Raina now?
âWhy? Didnât you say that you canât let it go just like that?â
Devin snorted. Clearly, he wasnât about to change his mind.
Frowning, Becky couldnât help but press her fingertips against her aching temples. âThere are so many things that I canât let go.
Itâs impossible for you to solve all of my problems for me.â
âItâs not impossible. Iâm willing to do it for you,â Devin answered without missing a beat.
Hearing this, Becky felt her heart race.
Becky had never let people bully her ever since she was a child. On the contrary, Jessie was quite timid as a child and didnât dare to defend herself when other kids bullied her. Truth be told, Jessie wasnât as bold and brave as she made herself out to be today.
It was Becky who asked Fred and Vernon to fight those bullies without thinking twice. In the end, Beckyâs parents were summoned to the school to deal with this matter. Even then, Becky didnât feel scared.
However, after marrying Rory, Becky kept suffering blow after blow. Even after the divorce, she still tried to swallow the humiliation.
The people around her wanted to vent her anger for her, but she had suffered too many grievances to count.
Becky thought Devin was just messing around. But he stopped the car in front of the hotel she left just now.
After pulling the car to a stop, Devin turned to look at Becky and said, âWeâre here.â
Stunned, Becky didnât move.
Without giving her the time to react, Devin hopped out of the car and trotted over to the other side to open the door for Becky.
âCome on.â
Unfastening her seat belt, Becky frowned. âDevin...â
Devin reached out and helped her out of the car. âDonât worry. Iâm here.â
He practically dragged Becky into the hotel.
Devin took great strides, and Becky had to walk quickly to keep up with him.
Devin didnât stop until they were right in front of the front desk. âWeâre looking for Raina Morgan or Babette Morgan. Could you tell me which room theyâre in?â
It wasnât until Becky heard this from Devinâs mouth that she realized he was dead serious about this matter.
While Becky was deep in thought, Devin glanced at her and asked, âAre you scared?â
Becky met his gaze and jutted out her chin bravely. âOf course not.â
When had she ever been afraid of anything?
Hearing her response, Devin broke into a smile. âGood.â
Just then, the receptionist found the room number. âMr. Stanley, they are in Room 1606.â
âThank you.â
Then, Devin turned to face Becky. âRoom 1606. Shall we?â
It had been a long time since Becky felt provoked, so she nodded even though she knew Devinâs question was rhetorical. âOf course.â
Truth be told, she was interested in seeing how he would help her solve this problem.
Devinâs grin grew wider. Without further ado, he turned around and walked towards the elevator, and Becky followed.
There was no one in the elevator. Devin strode in first and looked at Becky with a faint smile as if he was challenging her.
Becky plucked up the courage and stepped inside the elevator without hesitation.
Soon, they made it to the 16th floor. As the elevator doors slid open, Devin stole a glance at Becky.
Becky puffed out her chest and walked out of the elevator confidently. Finally, she stopped at Room 1606.
Becky turned to look at Devin and mimicked the smile he had on just now. âI wonder how youâll solve this problem for me.â
