Chapter - 16

Elio was blushing in the early morning. And the reason is none other than Nicolas. He was currently feeding Elio. Elio refused the idea of being fed by Nicolas, but one look from Nicolas was enough to shut him up. Nicolas didn't know why he was doing this. His mind told him that Simon or the other two could feed Eli but the thought made him angry? He don't know. Every time he fed Elio he looked at Simon passing him a smug look. Like he's the lucky one to feed Eli.

"Do you think somethings wrong with boss."

Simon asked Tyler when Nicolas gave him a smug smile.

"I don't know what's going on."

Tyler said trying to figure out what is going on with his boss.

"Done."

Nicolas said wiping Elio's mouth.

"I have to go now. And the one who did this to you, he'll see what hell feels like."

Nicolas said with a dark look making Elio fear him for a second.

Days passed and it was time for Elio's bandage to be taken off. Nicolas wanted to go with him, since he wasn't there in the first time. They were having breakfast as usual and Nicolas was glancing at him time to time. Elio got fed up with Nicolas. He put the fork down on the table with force.

"Okay. Do you have something to say?"

Elio asked making Nicolas nervous. Wait. Why was he nervous? Was it because he was afraid of rejection?

"I was hoping i could also accompany you to the hospital?"

Nicolas asked with hopeful eyes. Elio wasn't expecting that.

"Oh. Do you want to come with me?"

Elio asked tilting his head.

"Yes!"

Nicolas replied quickly. He cleared his throat and sat straight.

"Yes. I would like to come with you."

"The appointments at 11."

Elio said continuing to eat his breakfast. Nicolas called and informed his secretary that he would be coming in late. His secretary texted him back saying he have an appointment with Elena. He told her to inform Elena about the change in schedule. Elio finished his breakfast and took his pills also. He retired to his room to take a small nap, since the pills are so strong that they make him tired. Meanwhile Nicolas decided to go through some of his mails. Elio came down and sat near to Nicolas on the couch. Simon brought a bowl of fruits for Elio to eat. Nicolas put his phone away and decided to feed him again. A car parked outside making them both look outside to see who it was. Elio recognized his sister's car. Oh he didn't want to see her today. Not only her but his entire family. Elena came inside in all her glory and aura.

"Elena? Why are you here?"

"Your secretary told me the change of schedule, but i wanted to clear some things up."

She said looking at him, then her gazed shifted towards Elio. Nicolas nodded at her and continued feeding Elio. Her heart clenched at the sight of the man she loved feeding her brother. She clenched her fist and took a deep breath.

"I can't talk about it in front of Eli."

"Don't worry he knows everything. I don't hide anything from him anymore."

Elena looked genuinely shocked by this. She folded her arms and chuckled humourlessly.

"Didn't know you were so close to my brother."

Nicolas squirmed at that.

"Well we're husbands. Aren't we?"

Elio asked her raising his brows.

"Last time i checked you didn't want to marry him."

"Well if you and our family hadn't hid secrets from me, you could've gotten married to your love of the life."

"Oh shut up. Just move on from it and act like a grown up."

Elena said with a sneer.

"Act like a grown up? All i did was act upon on my feelings because i was hurt by the fact that my family hid such big things from me."

"Why can't you understand, we did it to protect you!"

She screamed at him.

"Protect me? By hiding the fact our family is the biggest mafia in the world. I had a right to know."

Elena rubbed her temple feeling a headache form.

"I won't talk to you or mom and dad until i feel like it!"

Elena looked hurt by this. Nicolas noticed this and looked at Elio.

"I think you shouldn't talk to her like that?"

Elio looked at him like he grew a pair of head.

"What? Afterall they've done you want me to forgive them so soon? I wish we weren't siblings, i wish i wasn't born into this family."

Elio said.

"Elio!!"

Nicolas shouted making him take a step back in fear.

"You will apologize to her this moment."

Elio was stuttering and he was fisting his pants wrinkling it.

"Sir the car is ready. It's time to go."

Tyler came inside. Elio took this as a chance to escape from this situation. He rushed outside following Tyler and got inside the car.

"He didn't mean it."

Nicolas said to Elena trying to comfort her.

"I know. I'll wait at the base."

She said and walked out without waiting for a reply. Nicolas sighed and walked towards the car. He got inside and saw Elio already sitting there. He was looking down at his lap, he was biting his lips trying not to cry. Nicolas again fucked up. In the attempt to not make his love, Elena, sad he hurt Elio in the process. He signalled Jay to drive. They reached the hospital and was lead to a room. Elio was made to sit on the bed. The nurse came and started cutting the bandages. Elio hissed at the pain. Nicolas clenched his fist at the sight of Elio hurting.

"All done. Don't forget to put the cream so that the scars go away."

The nurse advises Elio who was busy looking at his hands. Elio gets off from the bed and leaves without waiting for anyone. Nicolas was really getting angry at Elio's behaviour. He gets inside the car and sees Elio already sitting there. He orders Jay to drop him at the office and then go back to the house. All throughout the ride both the men didn't speak let alone look at each other. Did they go back to square one?
