Chapter 174: Yan Jinyi Called Him A Heartless Man

“Seems like Jinyi is on good terms with Zhao Xinchen. Does Xishen know about this?”

The Zhao Family didn’t get along with the Huo Family either because Zhao Xinchen’s father had repeatedly tried to cooperate with the Huo Group but was rejected for being too despicable.

Yan Jinyi asked with a look of bewilderment, “Does he have to know?”

Huo Xian was stunned and he couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

Previously, Huo Zihang told him that Yan Jinyi had changed drastically and he was curious to know how exactly she had changed. Now it seems that she had really changed and become more interesting than before.

He preferred the way Yan Jinyi was now.

After having a casual chat with Yan Jinyi, Huo Xian looked at Huo Chengyu and Shen Yan who were seated opposite.

Both of them were occupying a corner of the sofa, leaving the middle completely empty.

“Chengyu, Shen Yan, how have you two been lately?”

Shen Yan subconsciously looked at Huo Chengyu and said with a smile, “Grandpa, we’re doing well, don’t worry.”

Huo Chengyu still looked as smart and gentle as usual but there was a cold gaze in his eyes under his spectacle lens. “We’re alright.”

Shen Yan was dignified and poised, and was capable of handling the matters at home well. Huo Xian had always been pleased with her.

After looking at his granddaughter-in-law, Huo Xian turned to look at his grandson again. “I’m the least worried about you two. Chengyu, you’re already in your early thirties, don’t you plan to have a baby?”

At the mention of babies, Shen Yan began to look awkward. Subconsciously clutching at the hem of her skirt and forcing herself to smile, she replied, “Grandpa, Chengyu has been busy with work and I’ve been furthering my studies abroad too, so…”

“No matter how busy you are, you ought to take care of your family and bear children too.” Becoming stern all of a sudden, Huo Xian gripped his walking stick tightly and knocked it against the ground. “I spoke to your father over the phone a couple of days ago and he hopes that you two will focus on your family for now. Shen Yan, you’re the only daughter that your parents have and they’ve been wanting a grandchild since a long time ago. I’m getting old too and my days are numbered. Is it that difficult to fulfill my wish of having a great-grandchild?”

Being put in a difficult spot, Shen Yan looked at Huo Chengyu.

Pretending like he didn’t see that, Huo Chengyu stood up and bowed to Huo Xian. “Grandpa, I have a research report to write. I’ll head upstairs first.”

Yan Jinyi caught sight of the disappointment on Shen Yan’s face.

Shen Yan and Huo Chengyu did not share a close and loving relationship, unlike what the rumors claimed.

At least, Huo Chengyu didn’t quite fancy Shen Yan.

Yan Jinyi somehow felt that she was in the same boat as Shen Yan.

However, she was very different from Shen Yan.

She had gotten involved halfway and didn’t have any feelings for Huo Xishen but Shen Yan obviously fancied Huo Chengyu a lot.
