Chapter 103 Offending the Wrong Person

Dad, Stay Away from My Mom

Right now, he had only one goal in mind: to get to the preschool as fast as he could.

Melinda was about to speak when her phone rang again.

She glanced at the screen and saw an unfamiliar number. After a moment's hesitation, she answered, "Hello?"

She tried to keep her voice steady.

"Your son beat up my son so bad I had to take him to the hospital. I'm gonna sue you! Just wait till you get fired!" A sharp, arrogant female voice filled with anger and threats came from the other end of the line.

Melinda frowned, filled with confusion and disbelief.

She knew Sam was a kind kid who never started trouble. How could this have happened? There had to be some misunderstanding.

"Don't worry, I'll cover the medical expenses. I'm on my way now," Melinda said calmly, knowing it was more important to understand the situation than to argue.

"We don't care about the money. Just wait till you get fired!" The woman hung up, leaving Melinda worried.

Raymond had overheard the conversation. "Don't worry, no one can fire Sam."

Melinda sighed, expressing her concerns, "But, Raymond, I..."

Raymond interrupted her, "Don't worry, I'm here. I won't let anything happen to Sam."

His voice was calm but carried an undeniable determination.

They soon arrived at the preschool. The teacher greeted them and led them to the school meeting room.

Melinda silently prayed that Sam was okay.

From a distance, she saw two figures at the meeting room door. Imogen stood straight, while the woman next to her was dressed in flashy, expensive clothes.

Melinda quickened her pace, her heart racing.

She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself.

"Mommy!" A soft voice broke the silence. Melinda turned to see Sam standing against

the wall, his face full of distress and unease.

Her heart ached as she rushed over and hugged him tightly.

"Sam, are you hurt? Let me see."

Melinda asked gently, checking him over. Sam pointed to his forehead, where a noticeable bump had formed.

Raymond knelt down, looking at Sam with gentle eyes. "Sam, does it hurt?"

Sam shook his head, his voice choked, "No, Dad."

"How did you get this injury?" Raymond lightly touched the bump on Sam's forehead, frowning.

Sam pointed to a chubby kid nearby. "He pushed me, and I hit the ground." His voice carried a mix of anger and grievance.

"Why did he push you?" Raymond's voice grew stern.

"He was bullying a classmate. I stood up for them, and he pushed me first. So, I pushed him back." Sam's explanation made Melinda understand the situation.

Her son had gotten into a fight defending someone else.

She was about to comfort Sam when a sharp voice interrupted.

"Are you Sam's parent? Look at what your son did to my Zander. If you can't afford this school, don't send your kid here. Now we have little thugs mixing in."

The woman's harsh words made Melinda frown.

Calling her child a thug was unacceptable.

She stood up, her gaze cold as she looked at the arrogant woman. From Imogen's attitude, she guessed this woman had some influence.

"My son wouldn't hit someone without a reason."

Melinda felt a surge of anger but tried to stay calm and rational.

Imogen approached, glancing at Raymond with a friendly smile. "Ms. Sharp, here's what happened..."

Imogen explained the situation in more detail. Melinda, watching the woman's arrogant demeanor, became more convinced of Sam's innocence.

"Imogen, I want to see the surveillance footage. Sam wouldn't hit someone without a reason." Melinda struggled to control her emotions.

Imogen looked troubled. "Ms. Sharp, we'll investigate thoroughly. Please take your child home for now, okay?"

The woman behind Melinda sneered, "Just wait till you get fired. Do you even know who we are? I doubt you're a decent person, raising a little thug like that."

The woman looked at Melinda with contempt.

Just then, Zander pinched Sam's arm hard with his chubby hand.

Sam, not backing down, immediately pinched Zander back.

"Ouch!" Zander screamed, not expecting Sam to retaliate.

"You... you... how dare you hit him!" The woman shrieked, raising her hand to slap Sam.

"I'd like to see you try," Raymond said, pulling Sam behind him.

His face was stern, exuding a chilling aura.

"Mom, get this bad kid out of the preschool. I hate him," Zander yelled, pointing at Sam.

"I hate you too. I don't want to see you," Sam replied coldly from behind Raymond.

"Just wait! My dad is a shareholder of the Thomas Group. You'll be out of here soon!" Zander boasted proudly.

The Thomas Group shareholder?

Melinda glanced at Raymond.

Raymond smiled slightly, his deep, magnetic voice resonating. "Fine, I'll wait for you to contact me. Here's my number."

He quickly wrote down a number on a piece of paper and handed it to the young

woman.

Then, he picked up Sam, his eyes full of affection. "Let's go home."

Sam nodded, wrapping his arms around Raymond and resting his head on his shoulder.

"You..." The young woman started to protest but was stopped by Imogen.

At that moment, a large figure appeared at the door. "Who dares to bully my son?"

His loud, rough voice echoed through the hallway.

He scanned the room, his eyes landing on Zander. "Zander, tell me who hit you." "Honey, you're finally here!" The young woman, seeing her savior, immediately switched to a tearful, delicate demeanor, collapsing into the large man's arms. Imogen's face tightened, her brows furrowed as she quickly stepped forward to explain. "Sir, the situation has been resolved. Sam's parents are willing to talk. Can we reschedule?"

Melinda watched the family coldly, especially the woman, who looked smug and disdainful.

The large man patted the young woman's back gently, his voice soft. "Don't worry. Whoever bullies our child will be out of Shadow City."

"Imogen, don't just let anyone's kid in here. Look at my son, his nose is bleeding. We need to get him checked. If there's any lasting damage, the preschool will be responsible."

The young woman, emboldened by her support, continued to speak harshly. However, when the large man saw Raymond, he froze.
