Chapter 105 Raymond's Confession

Dad, Stay Away from My Mom

He had planned to stake out a celebrity, but instead, he stumbled upon Raymond and

Melinda.

His heart skipped a beat, excitement surging through him like waves on the ocean.

He carefully moved closer, searching for the perfect angle, and quietly aimed his camera at them.

She tilted her head slightly, her delicate neck and beautiful collarbone exposed.

Raymond suddenly stood up and sat beside her, effortlessly wrapping his long arm around her shoulders. "You tired?"

His deep voice sent an inexplicable shiver through Melinda's ears.

Melinda's pupils contracted slightly.

If Raymond leaned in just a bit more, they would be in close contact.

Melinda felt weak all over, her heart skipping a beat.

Raymond, however, didn't notice.

Melinda lowered her voice, with a hint of reproach, "Cut it out."

His eyes carried a teasing glint, the atmosphere growing more intimate.

"What's the big deal? Couples do this all the time," he said softly, his tone nonchalant. Melinda, irritated by his shamelessness, laughed. "When did I agree to date you?"

Her words carried a hint of sarcasm, her gaze turning sharp.

Raymond seemed unfazed by her attitude, staring at her intently. "You accepted my bracelet and flowers," he said seriously, as if genuinely awaiting her response.

Melinda avoided his gaze, not wanting to continue the topic. "I have to go to work later," she said coldly.

"You're off this afternoon. I approved it," Raymond persisted.

"Mr. Thomas, is work so casual for you?"

Her words were challenging, as if testing his response.

Raymond didn't back down. "I'm the boss. You'll be my wife soon. You can do whatever you want."

Melinda laughed again, exasperated. Raymond always seemed so high and mighty in front of others, but why did he act like this around her?

She looked up, meeting his gaze, and suddenly spoke seriously, "I'm not your wife yet. I need to work to support myself and pay off loans. Unlike you, I wasn't born rich."

Raymond's gaze remained steady and intense. "Are you jealous of me?"

His deep eyes bore into her, making Melinda uncomfortable. She looked down, unable to meet his gaze, feeling as if his eyes could enchant her, making her lose control.

Her heart raced, as if it would leap out of her chest.

Melinda suddenly realized something. Raymond was quite skilled at sweet-talking. "Raymond, how about..." she called softly, her voice trembling with helplessness. Raymond continued to look at her firmly, as if saying, "Anything you want." Melinda was stunned, unsure how to respond.

"Let's go back to my place later. My bed is big enough for us to have some fun," Raymond's voice was low and seductive.

Melinda was startled by Raymond's words, looking at him in shock.

Thankfully, the restaurant wasn't crowded. It would be bad if someone overheard.

Blushing, Melinda turned and ran to Sam.

Raymond watched Melinda's panicked retreat, a deeper smile forming on his lips. He picked up a glass of cold water, drinking several gulps to cool down. If they weren't in a restaurant, he might have pinned Melinda to the table.

Unbeknownst to them, someone had captured everything from a distance, but they remained unaware.

After their brief encounter, they returned to their respective jobs.

However, Melinda, sitting at her desk, couldn't focus on her work.

Sam had been taken out by Kathy.

Her mind kept replaying the scene in the restaurant, where Raymond almost kissed her, causing her heart to race with unease.

This is maddening! She lightly touched her lips, unable to suppress a smile. Just then, her phone rang, interrupting her thoughts.

She picked up the phone and saw it was William, someone she hadn't heard from in a while. "Hey, it's been a while. I miss you and Sam. Let's have dinner tonight." William got straight to the point.

His father had sent him away for training for half a month, and he had just returned, not even having time to rest.

"I've been busy..."

"I've booked a table at Sam's favorite restaurant. See you tonight."

William hung up before Melinda could respond.

Melinda looked at her phone, smiling helplessly. Suddenly, Raymond's face popped into her mind. Would Raymond be jealous?

Wait!

Why did she care about his feelings?

Melinda shook her head, dismissing the thought.

She decided to call Raymond to let him know, to avoid him showing up at her place to punish her.

Melinda dialed Raymond's number. "Hello!" Raymond's voice carried a hint of surprise. "Um... William invited Sam and me to dinner tonight. Just letting you know, so you don't need to pick me up after work," Melinda said cautiously.

Raymond chuckled. "Got it."

"What's with that tone?" Melinda's voice held a trace of relief.

It seemed that if Raymond was jealous, she wouldn't go tonight.

Raymond was silent for a moment, then said with a half-smile, "I know... William invited

you to dinner. Don't tell me you've fallen for William."

"Of course not!" Melinda instinctively raised her voice in protest.

"Remember what you promised me," Raymond's voice suddenly turned serious.

Melinda was taken aback. "What did I promise you?"

Raymond's voice carried a hint of gritted teeth. "Melinda! Say that again?" Melinda, feeling guilty, hung up the phone.

She regretted calling Raymond, thinking it was unnecessary trouble. She silently vowed to avoid him in the future.

Soon, her phone rang again.

Melinda answered, only saying "Hello," before Raymond cut in, "I have important work. Let's leave it at that."

Not giving Raymond a chance to speak, she hung up.

At five in the afternoon, Melinda finished work, holding Sam's hand and carrying the flowers Raymond had given her as they walked to the underground parking lot. She was surprised to find Raymond already waiting for her.

Melinda glared at Raymond. Why hadn't he mentioned that William had invited him to dinner too?

Just then, Celestia arrived at the parking lot, seeing Melinda with the flowers. She bit her lip, but Melinda ignored her, walking past gracefully.

Raymond's lips curved into a smile as Melinda approached. At least his gesture hadn't gone unnoticed.

In the restaurant, William entertained Sam, who had been in a fight earlier. William said seriously, "Don't worry, I'll take you to practice martial arts sometime."

"Okay!" Sam nodded happily.

William looked at the couple across from him, smiling. "Raymond, when can I attend your engagement party?"

Melinda choked on her soup.

Raymond, helpless, patted her back. "You're an adult, and you still choke on soup." Melinda glared at him. Raymond couldn't speak without being sarcastic. William raised an eyebrow at Raymond, as if asking why he hadn't succeeded yet. Raymond gave him a resigned look. Melinda was hard to win over, and William knew it.

After dinner, William said he had forgotten a gift and coaxed Sam into staying at his place for the night.

Sam was excited, and Melinda couldn't stop him.

"Sam, that's rude. I'm going to be mad!" Melinda pretended to be angry.

"Leave Sam to me. I'll take him to school tomorrow. Don't worry," William said, and

Sam eagerly followed him out of the restaurant.

Melinda was left helpless.
