Chapter 136: Inextricably Linked with Her

Dad, Stay Away from My Mom

Melinda's mind immediately flashed to Emily. Emily showing up at the Thomas Villa today had to be connected to this incident. But Melinda kept her suspicions to herself; she couldn't just throw around accusations without proof.

After over two hours of emergency treatment, Larry was finally moved to a hospital room. In less than half a day, Larry seemed to have aged several years, and his face looked much more haggard.

At this moment, Roy had also brought the medications to the attending physician's office.

Raymond walked straight to the doctor, watching him inspect each bottle of medication.

When the doctor poured out a pill, Raymond immediately noticed something was off by the numbers and size on the pill.

"This pill isn't for high blood pressure. Did someone switch it on purpose?"

Roy, standing nearby, leaned in and exclaimed, "Why is this pill bigger? Even the markings are different from what Mr. Thomas usually takes."

"I also suspect it's not for high blood pressure. I've already sent it for testing."

Raymond looked at Roy, his eyes full of questions. "What's going on here?"

"Mr. Raymond Thomas, I don't know either. The medication I gave Mr. Larry Thomas yesterday was the same as always. How did the pills in this bottle get bigger today?" Roy was equally puzzled.

"It seems someone switched the medication."

The doctor then took out another bottle to inspect. "This one is a sleeping pill, and it also has issues. Although the shape is the same, the dosage marked on it is about six times what I usually prescribe for Mr. Thomas. Long-term use could be fatal."

Raymond's face darkened. The problem was clear: someone had tampered with Larry's medication. But who would be so ruthless to harm an elderly man?

Roy was also pale with fear. "Who would want to murder Mr. Thomas by tampering with his medication?"

"You need to investigate this immediately."

The doctor turned to Raymond. "Mr. Raymond Thomas, at Mr. Larry Thomas's age, his medication must be absolutely correct."

Raymond's face was filled with anger, his eyes cold and murderous.

Who could it be? Whoever it was, once he found out, he would make them pay dearly.

"Fortunately, Mr. Thomas has a strong resistance to medication, which caused a reaction and allowed us to discover the tampering early."

"Who would do such a thing? Mr. Thomas is always kind to everyone. We all appreciate his kindness. Who would do this?"

"When do you think the medication was switched? Was yesterday's medication normal?"

Roy thought for a moment. "I personally dispensed the medication last night, so it should have been fine. Even this morning, the pills Mr. Thomas took were normal. It was only at lunch that there was a problem."

Roy, in his forties, was not yet old enough to have poor eyesight and had a good memory.

If none of the Thomas family servants would do such a thing, it was highly likely an outsider had tampered with the medication.

Although a group of relatives and friends had visited today, they were all people with good relationships.

"Could it be Ms. Lowe? She was upset that you didn't invite her to the main hall for lunch and took it out on Mr. Thomas?" Roy's suggestion made Raymond's eyes narrow. Emily was indeed the most likely person to harm Larry.

"Didn't I tell you to keep an eye on her?"

"During lunch, we were short-staffed, so I only had one person watching her. They probably didn't keep a close eye on her, giving her the opportunity to go to the pharmacy." Roy was also filled with self-blame. Who would have thought Emily would do such a thing?

"There are security cameras, Mr. Thomas. The pharmacy has surveillance footage." Roy suddenly remembered. Last time, a cat had gotten into the pharmacy, and he thought a new servant had broken something. After investigating, Mr. Thomas had scolded him. So, he had installed surveillance cameras to better manage the pharmacy.

"I installed a camera in the pharmacy to better manage it, in case there were any issues with the medication."

Roy said, taking out his phone.

"Show me the video," Raymond said through gritted teeth, his anger reaching its peak. Roy operated the app and found the video storage.

The footage was saved in segments. Fast-forwarding to the time Emily was there, Raymond took the phone from Roy and sat on the nearby sofa, fast-forwarding through the footage.

Finally, at 12:45 PM, the quiet pharmacy had some activity.

There was the sound of a door opening, and then a figure walked in. Who else could it be but Emily?

She looked around for a moment before starting to switch the medication. The camera recorded her malicious actions.

"It really is Emily. I can't believe someone so young could be so vicious. Hasn't Mr. Thomas treated her well?" Roy had never seen such a malicious woman.

Raymond watched the entire few minutes of her switching the medication, his presence radiating a chilling aura.

Emily had framed Melinda in the past, which already made him think she was ruthless. But he never expected she would dare to harm Larry as well.

Emily, unaware that everything she had just done was recorded, looked back at the medication with a sinister smile, feeling pleased with herself before leaving.

Roy was almost losing his mind with anger. Emily clearly intended to kill.

Her face, usually bright and alluring in the light, now appeared incredibly sinister and ugly to Roy.

Raymond handed the phone back to Roy and then asked the doctor, "How is my grandfather?"

"He's stable. His blood pressure is under control. He can stay in the hospital for a few days, and we'll monitor him closely. Fortunately, the medication wasn't fully absorbed."

Raymond nodded and told Roy, "Don't tell my grandfather about this. I don't want him to be affected."

"Understood, Mr. Thomas. But you must not let Emily get away with this. She's too malicious."

Roy was filled with extreme anger. If Emily hadn't been caught, and something had happened tonight, he might not have survived. Moreover, Larry was such a good person. If he had been harmed, Roy would never be able to face it.

"I won't let her get away with it." Raymond's voice was filled with a hint of gritted teeth. Emily's good days were numbered.

He didn't immediately confront Emily. He wanted to wait until Larry woke up and his condition stabilized before dealing with the matter. But he needed to handle another person first. He dialed Stuart's number. "Tonight, have Nolan take care of Emily and keep an eye on him. I want to know his relationship with Emily." "What? Mr. Thomas, are you serious? Don't you care about Nolan at all?" Stuart, sensing Raymond's murderous intent towards Nolan, couldn't help but speak up.

"Do it." Raymond didn't want to argue.

"Understood!" Stuart realized Raymond was determined and didn't question him further.

At that moment, Emily was in the villa, having drunk quite a bit and was now heavily intoxicated.

Not long after, Nolan arrived. Seeing Emily passed out among a pile of empty bottles,

he hurried over to help her up. "Ms. Lowe, you're drunk."

"Azhi, am I that bad? Am I really no match for Melinda?" Nolan could only comfort her. "No, you're beautiful too."
