Chapter 137: Time to Close the Net
Dad, Stay Away from My Mom
"But Raymond only has eyes for Melinda, not me. Why doesn't he like me? Why won't he even look at me?" Emily sobbed into Nolan's chest.
A camera, discreetly placed by Stuart to keep tabs on Emily, captured the scene.
Unaware of the surveillance, Emily and Nolan were alone in the room.
"Nolan, carry me upstairs," Emily pleaded, desperation in her eyes. She needed someone, anyone.
Nolan looked at the distraught Emily. Despite her cosmetic surgery, he could still see traces of her former self. Feeling a pang of sympathy, he helped her upstairs.
The entire process was recorded and sent to Raymond's phone.
Raymond watched the footage of Emily and Nolan together and felt nothing but disgust.
Sitting on the couch in the lounge, Melinda brought him a glass of water. Raymond turned off his phone.
Seeing Melinda's worried expression, Raymond felt a tightness in his chest. "Don't worry, Grandpa's awake."
Melinda took the cup from his hand. "Did Grandpa faint suddenly? He's always been in good health."
Raymond shook his head. "I don't know. We'll have to wait until he wakes up to find out."
"Yeah, for now, we just have to wait."
Half an hour later, Larry woke up. He seemed in good spirits but couldn't explain why he had fainted.
"Dad, let me handle the family gathering next year. You're getting on in years and should take it easy," Teresa suggested, thinking Larry had fainted from the stress of organizing the event.
Larry shook his head. "I don't have much to do."
"Grandpa, you almost gave us a heart attack."
"I'm fine. I'm in great shape."
Larry was stubborn, insisting he was fine to avoid worrying the younger generation.
Seeing Larry stable after waking up, Raymond felt a bit more at ease.
"Grandpa, you should stay in the hospital for a week for observation."
"You all just love locking me up here," Larry grumbled, his stubbornness making him more like a child.
Melinda sighed in relief, smiling at him, feeling the joy of having an elder in the family. "Aunt, you and William stay with Grandpa. I'll take Melinda home."
"Go ahead," Teresa nodded.
In the car, Raymond was silent, and Melinda didn't speak either. She gently patted his shoulder. She had seen his decisive nature at work, but when it came to emotions, he was like an innocent boy.
Lost in thought, Melinda suddenly noticed Raymond staring at her, his gaze intense. "What are you looking at?" Melinda asked.
"Your face is like a peach blossom kissed by the spring breeze, so delicate and beautiful, with big, bright eyes and features like a painting. Truly a natural beauty."
"Is there something on my face?" Melinda touched her face.
Raymond shook his head. "I just think you're beautiful, really beautiful. I could look at you forever."
"Stop being so cheesy. You're getting more and more slick. I'm here. Go back to the hospital and stay with Grandpa." Melinda smiled.
Raymond watched her enter the apartment complex before picking up his phone to call Stuart. "Bring the team. It's time to wrap this up."
Emily and Nolan were still in bed, Emily deeply asleep from her hangover, while Nolan was awake, holding her. Their naked bodies intertwined like two snakes.
On his way over, Stuart had already checked the account, noting the extravagant spending on the black card given to Emily over the past six months, which shocked him.

"Mr. Thomas, Ms. Lowe has spent around fifty million on this card in the past six months." Stuart's voice was steady, but the shock was evident.
Raymond's eyes turned icy. From now on, Emily was cut off.
As the car pulled up, the people inside were still asleep. The villa was under Raymond's name, so he had the right to reset the password. Without waking them, they entered by inputting the new code.
"They should be upstairs. Should we go up now?" Stuart asked, feeling awkward since Nolan was his colleague.
"Go get them down here," Raymond ordered, not wanting to see the disgusting scene himself.
Stuart had no choice but to go upstairs.
He reached the master bedroom door, feeling uncomfortable at the sight of clothes strewn everywhere, and knocked.
The two inside woke up immediately. Emily's hangover cleared, and Nolan asked, "Emily, who else can come in here?"
"Is it the maid?" Emily, annoyed, fixed her hair, angry that the maid dared to knock on her door.
Nolan hurriedly started dressing, while Emily quickly threw on a robe and yanked the door open.
Seeing Stuart standing there, they were both terrified.
"Mr. White, what are you doing here?" Emily asked in a panic, trying to explain, "Mr. Adams and I were discussing business."
But Nolan's unbuttoned shirt made them look disheveled.
"Mr. Thomas is here. Get dressed and come downstairs," Stuart said, turning to leave.
Emily's face turned pale. Raymond was here? She glared at Nolan, whispering harshly, "Don't mention our relationship."
Nolan, wanting to save his own skin, nodded quickly. "I know."

They dressed and went downstairs, trying to look like a couple who had just finished a business discussion.
Emily never expected Raymond to visit at such an inconvenient time.
"Raymond, you're here," Emily said, trying to appear charming. In the short time, she had touched up her makeup, put on a coat, and even reapplied her lipstick.
Behind her, Nolan kept his head down, not daring to move forward.
Raymond glanced at her with cold eyes, as if he wanted to devour her.
"Stuart, show Ms. Lowe the video," Raymond said, feeling a murderous intent he had never felt before.
Emily didn't know what video she was about to see. Stuart played the footage of her changing Larry's medication at the Thomas Villa, with the volume turned up. The video was clear, showing her sinister expression.
Emily's pupils dilated in shock, as if an earthquake had shaken her. She covered her mouth, staring at the short video in disbelief, unable to comprehend how her actions had been recorded.
Her body trembled, and she couldn't muster the courage to look at Raymond. She stole a glance at him, catching his deep, cold expression, which terrified her.
She knew Raymond was truly furious this time.
Emily opened her mouth, trying to speak, but under Raymond's sharp gaze, all her excuses stuck in her throat.
The video exposed her darkest side.
"I'm sorry, I... I was out of my mind, Raymond. Please forgive me. I was just confused, out of my mind."
"Ms. Lowe, do you know that because of your medication switch, Larry almost lost his life?" Stuart reminded her coldly.
Emily nearly fainted. "What? Grandpa... Grandpa took my medication?"
She couldn't bear to look at Raymond, repeatedly apologizing.
At that moment, she truly regretted her actions.
