Chapter 172: Killing Again

Dad, Stay Away from My Mom

Emily stared at Walter, the man she both hated and pitied, feeling a whirlwind of emotions.

She knew Walter was her biological father, an unchangeable fact.

"Emily, can you give me some more money?" Walter's voice was low and raspy, tinged with both pleading and threat. "Otherwise, I'm really out of options."

Emily took a deep breath, trying to calm herself.

She looked at Walter coldly and said, "I'm barely holding on myself, you know? I almost killed Cindy for you. Now she's threatening to expose my identity. If you want more money from me, you'll have to kill her."

Walter was shocked and hesitant at Emily's words.

He knew murder was no small matter. If discovered, the consequences would be dire. But seeing the determination in Emily's eyes, he wavered.

After all, he had always wanted to get closer to Emily. She was his golden goose, his ATM.

If she could really become the heir to the Lowe Group, wouldn't he benefit too? With that thought, Walter gritted his teeth and said, "Alright, I'll help you." Emily's heart leaped with joy.

She immediately arranged for someone to closely monitor Cindy's movements and found an abandoned warehouse near the Lowe Group as the perfect spot to act.

She wanted everything to be flawless, to silence Cindy forever.

Meanwhile, Cindy had no idea she was walking into danger again...

At the Thomas Group hospital,

Larry and Sam came to visit the newly awakened Connie.

"Connie, you're finally awake!" Larry was tearful with relief. "We were so worried about you."

Connie looked at Sam and Larry, feeling grateful and guilty.

"I'm sorry for worrying you," she said apologetically, then turned to Melinda. "Melinda, you've had a tough time, taking care of both the company and 'me.""

Melinda shook her head gently. "Mom, I'm your daughter. Taking care of you is my duty." She felt incredibly happy now. Connie was alive, and she had Raymond and their adorable Sam. Life was perfect.

At nine in the evening, Raymond brought Melinda and Sam back to their villa.

After washing up, Sam quickly fell asleep, but Melinda and Raymond were still wide awake.

They sat on the couch in the living room, smiling at each other, enjoying the rare quiet moment.

"Melinda, you've lost quite a bit of weight lately," Raymond said tenderly, his eyes full of love and affection. "How about I take you abroad for a break, like a honeymoon?" Melinda blushed and buried her head in Raymond's chest. "Did I save the galaxy in my past life to deserve meeting you in this one?"

"Wasn't it me who saved the galaxy? I'm the lucky one." Raymond cupped her face and kissed her gently, then stood up. "You should rest. I have some things to take care of."

"Okay!"

Melinda gave Raymond a playful smile.

The next morning, Cindy hurriedly walked into the Lowe Group entrance. The security guard stopped her, and she looked anxious. "I need to see Ms. Sharp. It's urgent."

The guard nodded and led her to the security office, where a guard Emily had arranged was sitting.

He glanced at Cindy, a barely noticeable smirk on his lips.

He pretended to pick up the phone. "I'll contact her for you." Then he pointed to a car outside. "Ms. Sharp asked you to get in. She'll be right there."

Cindy, unsuspecting, nodded and thanked him before quickly heading out.

As soon as she got in the car, a strange smell hit her, and her heart sank. But it was too late.

She was pulled inside, the door slammed shut, and the car sped off.

Soon, the car stopped in front of an abandoned warehouse.

Cindy was pushed out, looking around in terror. She saw Emily and Walter standing nearby, their faces cold and menacing.

"What do you want?" Cindy's voice trembled.

"What do we want? To make sure you never speak again!" Emily snarled. Walter, holding a long knife, advanced on Cindy.

Cindy fought back desperately, but she was no match for Walter's strength and was forced to retreat.

Suddenly, she slipped and fell, the knife slashing a long gash across her abdomen. Cindy, in excruciating pain, struggled to her feet and ran towards the second-floor window.

But Walter kicked her in the stomach, sending her crashing to the ground below. Ignoring the pain, she got up and stumbled towards the Lowe Group.

Emily and Walter chased after her.

Her clothes were soaked in blood, each step a struggle.

Just then, a motorcycle roared up. The rider, seeing Cindy covered in blood, stopped and helped her onto the bike.

The motorcycle sped away, leaving Emily and Walter shouting in anger.

When the rider brought Cindy to the Lowe Group entrance, Melinda's car happened to arrive.

Seeing Cindy fall off the bike, covered in blood, Melinda was shocked and rushed to her.

"Cindy! What happened?" Melinda asked urgently.

Cindy grabbed Melinda's hand, her voice weak. "Ms. Sharp, be careful... Emily, she... she's not the Lowe Family's real..." Before she could finish, Cindy passed out.

Melinda was stunned and immediately had her bodyguards take Cindy to the hospital. Standing outside the operating room, watching the doctors work, Melinda was filled with confusion and anger.

What did Cindy mean by Emily not being the real what? What was going on? Was there something else being hidden?

Meanwhile, Emily returned to the Lowe Villa.

She stormed into Connie's master bedroom, ransacking it for valuables.

Jewelry, credit cards... she stuffed everything into a bag, trying to find some semblance of security.

But she didn't realize that she might never get to spend any of it.

Walter, hiding in a dark corner, was trembling.

He had been part of this, but they hadn't succeeded in silencing Cindy. He feared

being held accountable and dreaded Emily's ruthlessness and betrayal.

He knew he had nowhere to run.

Emily was obsessed with money. In her twenty years at the Lowe Villa, she had learned nothing but how to spend it.

Now that Cindy had been rescued, she knew her true identity would soon be exposed. She decided to take the money and run.

In the dim night, the Lowe Villa was shrouded in darkness.

Emily had nowhere to go, so she thought the most dangerous place would be the

safest. She cut the villa's power, creating the illusion that she had fled.

She hid in Bobby's room, sitting on the floor.

Suddenly, she heard footsteps outside the door.

Emily panicked and tried to escape.

But she was too late. The door burst open, and a figure entered.

Emily saw it was the guard from the Lowe Group who had helped her.

"What... what are you doing here?" Emily asked in surprise, the guard's flashlight shining directly on her face.

"Money. Now that Cindy's not dead, what if she talks? What about me?" the guard said angrily.

Emily's heart tightened, but she quickly composed herself. "Didn't I give you money?"

"A thousand dollars? Do you think I'm a beggar? If I'd known you wanted to kill someone, it would've cost a lot more." The guard fumed.
