Chapter 173 Bobby Knows the Truth
Dad, Stay Away from My Mom
"I don't have any money left either. Melinda's a real piece of work; she took over the company and froze all my assets," Emily tried to play the victim to get rid of the security guard, but he wasn't buying it.
"If you don't give me the money, I'll call the cops and tell them you tried to kill Cindy. Let's see if you ever get out of prison," the guard threatened, his voice dripping with
menace.
Emily knew this guard was trouble, so she said, "Fine, come here, I'll get you the money."
The guard, thinking his intimidation had worked, took a step forward. But the next second, something heavy struck his head. He didn't even have time to react before collapsing to the ground.
A pool of liquid quickly spread out on the floor, carrying a pungent smell of blood. Emily seized the opportunity to slip away, relieved that she hadn't been caught. However, she didn't know that everything had been recorded by the room's surveillance camera.
Melinda sat in the monitoring room, coldly watching Emily on the screen.
A glint of coldness flashed in her eyes, and a smirk appeared on her lips.
She knew Emily's good days were over.
Meanwhile, good news came from the hospital: Cindy had been saved by the doctors' efforts and was now out of danger.
The first thing Cindy did upon waking was to tell Melinda about all the terrible things Emily and her biological father, Walter, had done to her.
From pushing Emily into the sea to chasing her with a knife, each incident had nearly cost Cindy her life.
Listening to Cindy's story, Melinda felt a surge of indescribable anger.
She held Cindy's hand tightly and said firmly, "Cindy, don't worry. I will get justice for you."
Cindy looked at Melinda with gratitude, tears glistening in her eyes.
Melinda kept her promise and quickly found a lawyer for Cindy to sue Emily and Walter for civil damages.
The lawyer assured her that with solid evidence, they would surely win the case. Meanwhile, Emily had fled the villa, feeling anxious and decided to lay low for a while.
She had some luxury items that could fetch a good price, and with her changed appearance, no one would recognize her.
Melinda went to the detention center to see Bobby.
In the visiting room, she sat across from Bobby, who had been shaved bald and looked much more haggard, with a scruffy beard and a defeated demeanor.
He was surprised to see Melinda.
"Bobby, you raised someone else's daughter for over twenty years. Emily tried to kill Cindy to hide her true identity and even killed a security guard. Now she's wanted, and you still want me to drop the charges? Dream on!"
Bobby's face turned pale, and he couldn't believe his ears.
He turned to Emily and asked in a trembling voice, "Nonsense, Emily is my daughter. She would never kill anyone."
"With solid evidence, do you think it's still possible? You can do a paternity test," Melinda didn't want to waste more words with Bobby.
Bobby was struck dumb, collapsing to the ground.
Melinda felt a wave of satisfaction seeing Bobby's misery.
She continued, "Your daughter? How ridiculous. I almost forgot to tell you the good news: my mom has woken up, and she will never forgive you! Why don't you all reunite in hell?"
With that, she turned to leave.

Bobby knelt on the cold floor, clutching the iron bars, his eyes filled with despair and pleading.
"Melinda, please, spare Emily. She's just a child; she can't be ruined like this."
Melinda looked at him coldly, without a trace of sympathy, "Bobby, did you think about this day when you schemed to marry my mom and poisoned her?"
Bobby's face turned ashen, and he lowered his head weakly, "I... I know I was wrong, but Emily is innocent."
"Innocent?" Melinda sneered, "She tried to kill Cindy twice, and there's the security guard. Do you still dare to say she's innocent? I will hold you both accountable for everything you've done."
With that, Melinda turned and left, leaving Bobby alone, his cries echoing in the empty visiting room, filled with endless despair.
Meanwhile, Emily was enjoying a luxurious lunch at an upscale restaurant in another city. She was in high spirits, thinking she had finally shaken off Melinda.
But just as she finished and was about to pay, several police officers appeared in front of her. "Emily, you're under arrest for two counts of attempted murder. Please come with us."
Emily's face turned pale, and she looked at the officers in horror. "No... I didn't... Cindy threatened me first..."
But the officers didn't listen to her explanations. They stepped forward and tightly cuffed her wrists. Emily struggled, but her strength was no match for theirs. In the end, she had no choice but to go with them.
Back at the hospital, Connie had recovered well and was able to get out of bed and walk around. The doctors had also arranged some rehabilitation for her.
Melinda stayed by her side and told her everything about Emily and Bobby.
Connie was shocked, her eyes wide open. "What? Emily isn't Bobby's biological daughter?"
Her voice was filled with anger and disappointment.
Melinda gently patted her back. "Mom, don't get too worked up. The police are investigating, and the truth will come out."

She paused. "And about Cindy, Emily has been arrested. As for Bobby giving you drugs while you were unconscious, we need your cooperation for the investigation." Connie took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. "Leave everything to you." Around five in the afternoon, Raymond sent a car to pick up Melinda and Sam for a dinner on the sea. Since it was the day the new yacht arrived, Raymond had arranged this sea dinner to celebrate.
Before heading to the dock, Melinda went to a dress shop Raymond had arranged and picked out a purple evening gown. The hem of the dress swayed gently with her steps, like a blooming violet.
Sam wore a white suit jacket and black shorts, looking both handsome and adorable. His outfit made him look even more like Raymond, making their father-son relationship unmistakable.
Raymond wore a black fitted T-shirt and matching casual pants, his physique perfectly outlined, looking both strong and upright.
When he saw Melinda approaching, a look of amazement flashed in his eyes. "Melinda, you look stunning tonight!"
He walked up and gently took her arm. "This dress suits you perfectly." Melinda blushed slightly and smiled. "Thank you." She looked at Raymond's outfit.
"You look very handsome tonight too."
Raymond laughed heartily. "Of course, I'm your fiancé. How could I not look good?"
His tone was full of confidence and affection.
The sea breeze blew through her hair, carrying a hint of salty moisture, yet it was surprisingly fresh and pleasant. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath of the rare sea breeze, as if to blow away all her worries.
"Do you like it?" Raymond's deep voice sounded in her ear, full of tenderness. He gently caressed her cheek, his eyes filled with deep affection. "That's good. I'll bring you here often."
The two of them enjoyed this rare moment of togetherness on the yacht until late at night, reluctantly returning to the villa.
Raymond carried the already sleeping Sam and placed him on the bed. Then he turned to Melinda, pulling her into his arms and kissing her deeply.
The kiss was like a stormy wave, overwhelming Melinda and making it hard for her to breathe. She held him tightly, as if trying to merge herself into his body.
