Chapter 22 Larry's Decision

Dad, Stay Away from My Mom

Watching Emily's figure disappear, Larry stood up and enthusiastically grabbed

Melinda's hand, saying excitedly, "Melinda, I finally see you. You've suffered so much. If it weren't for that incident back then, you would have a loving father and a warm home now. It's our Thomas family's fault."

Larry choked up as he spoke.

"Don't worry, I will stand up for you." After saying this, he picked up a delicate wooden box from the chair beside him and handed it to Melinda.

Melinda looked at Larry in surprise.

A gift for her?

"Open it and see," Raymond said with a smile.

Obviously, he knew what was inside.

"Mr. Thomas, there's no need. My father was just doing his duty. I am proud of him." Melinda's eyes reddened slightly, and her voice carried a hint of choking.

Seeing Larry's sincere eyes, she slowly opened the box. Inside was a gemstone pendant, shining brilliantly under the light, so clear it seemed to reflect one's soul. Its value was naturally immeasurable.

Melinda was stunned by its beauty and amazed by its value.

"This is too precious. I can't accept it, Mr. Thomas. Please take it back." Melinda closed the lid with a snap.

Melinda left the Thomas Villa.

Emily walked over triumphantly, her eyes smiling. She looked up at Melinda, "Melinda, you should quit early. There's no way you can marry into the Thomas family."

Melinda frowned slightly, with a firm determination, "Emily, do you think everyone is like you? Relying on men and only spending their money? I'm not interested in marrying into the Thomas family." Melinda had always been clear-headed about this matter; she would never develop anything with Raymond.

However, Emily didn't believe her. She tentatively asked, "Melinda, are you serious?" Her words carried a hint of doubt.

Melinda frowned, "Believe it or not."

"Just don't cause me any trouble." Emily warned with a fierce look before leaving.

Melinda just let out a cold laugh, "Boring." Her voice was cold and distant. After saying that, she turned and left without any hesitation.

Emily's face changed slightly, and she shouted loudly, "Melinda, remember this, no one can take what's mine."

After watching Melinda leave, Raymond withdrew his gaze.

"Raymond, come to the study. I have something to say." He nodded and followed Larry out.

In the study, Raymond's voice sounded, "Grandpa, what do you want to say?"

"I've made up my mind. Your wife must be Melinda. As for Emily, our Thomas family

will give her some material compensation and end the relationship as soon as possible. She slanders her sister Melinda. How can someone with such character enter the Thomas family's door?" Larry's voice was loud and firm, leaving no room for rebuttal. "Yes, I understand." Raymond's face didn't change much, but he was happy inside. He didn't like Emily much anyway.

When Raymond returned to his office, the night was deepening.

Stuart hurried over, "Mr. Thomas, the matter has been investigated. Ms. Lowe's injury was actually caused by herself. I retrieved the garage surveillance, and it showed exactly that. There was a back-and-forth and a collision sound, with no other vehicles passing by at the time."

After speaking, Stuart handed him the USB drive.

"Yes, I knew it was like this. Emily is a self-righteous woman, often more foolish. By the way, keep an eye on the Lowe Group's movements and report Bobby's situation to me

as well." Raymond tightly gripped the USB drive, his eyes growing colder.

The next afternoon, after the meeting ended, Raymond walked into his office.

He glanced at his watch and then pressed the intercom on his desk, "Stuart, prepare the car. We're going to the lab."

Stuart's voice on the other end was crisp and clear, "Yes, Mr. Thomas."

At five o'clock, Melinda had finished her work. She was about to pack up to pick up Sam from school when her phone suddenly rang.

She reached out to answer the call, and Raymond's voice came from the other end, "Come to my office."

Melinda frowned, her tone revealing some reluctance, "Mr. Thomas, is there something you need?" She really didn't want to see him.

"Work-related matters." Raymond was concise and hung up after speaking. Melinda sighed helplessly, put down her things, and walked towards Raymond's office. "Mr. Thomas?" Melinda walked into the office and saw Raymond still in a daze. Raymond snapped out of it, looking at Melinda but hesitating to speak. He said a lot, but none of it was important. Melinda could only stand there, occasionally checking the time.

"Alright, I understand. We'll discuss this tomorrow."

Melinda interrupted him, "I've already finished work. I need to pick up Sam." After saying that, she turned and walked towards the door.

"I'll take you." Raymond grabbed his coat and was about to follow.

"No need, Mr. Thomas. You go ahead with your work." Melinda quickened her pace. She really didn't want to get involved with Raymond.

Raymond took a few long strides and caught up with Melinda in two or three steps.

At that moment, the car conveniently stopped in front of her. Melinda gritted her teeth but had no choice.

She was worried that if they pulled and tugged at the door, her colleagues would see, leading to unnecessary gossip.

So, she reluctantly got into the car.

At the school gate, Melinda's figure appeared. She walked lightly into the campus to

pick up Sam. Raymond stood quietly at the gate, his gaze deep.

After a while, Melinda walked out of the school gate holding Sam's small hand.

"Mr. Thomas!" Sam saw Raymond at a glance and called out happily. Raymond smiled, looking at Sam, feeling a strange sense of closeness.

Raymond had already booked a restaurant in advance. He personally opened the car door for Melinda and Sam, and they headed straight to the restaurant. In the car, Sam excitedly shared with Melinda the interesting things that happened at school today. Melinda listened and happily kissed him.

In the restaurant, Raymond carefully ordered dishes, considering Melinda and Sam's tastes. Melinda was busy taking care of Sam. She could go without eating, but she had to make sure Sam was full.

In a distant corner, someone frequently looked over, secretly taking photos of Raymond and Melinda with a phone.

This girl was Lena. She was now doing anything to curry favor with Emily.

She sent the photos she took to Emily.

When Emily saw the photos, her eyes turned cold, and resentment was evident. She decided not to let Melinda succeed. However, Raymond and Melinda in the restaurant were unaware of this. They were enjoying this rare moment of warmth.
