Chapter 292 Encountering an Avalanche

Dad, Stay Away from My Mom

Brian, who was ahead, heard the commotion and spun around. Seeing what was happening, his eyes blazed with rage. He immediately pointed his gun at Zachary and shouted, "Who the hell are you? How dare you mess up my plans!"

Just then, a burst of bullets came from another direction, hitting the car and causing sparks to fly. Realizing the situation was dire, Brian had no choice but to retreat temporarily. As he left, he turned back and yelled furiously, "You just wait, I'll remember you!"

Soon, Theo's team arrived, and Zachary handed Aaron over to them.

Seeing Brian's helicopter slowly taking off, Zachary's eyes flashed with determination. Ignoring his teammates' frantic attempts to stop him, he leaped and grabbed the helicopter's landing gear, hanging in mid-air.

His teammates were desperate, shouting, "Zachary, don't be stupid, come back!"

Zachary clung to the helicopter, unfazed by the strong wind.

Inside the helicopter, Brian was about to make a call when he noticed Zachary. He grabbed his gun and fired several shots, shattering the helicopter's door glass.

Seizing the moment, Zachary shot the pilot, killing him instantly. The helicopter spun out of control and began to plummet.

Zachary used the opportunity to leap into the cabin, pressing his gun to Brian's head. His face was expressionless, his eyes cold. He pulled the trigger, and the bullet hit Brian's leg, causing him to scream in agony.

Brian glared at Zachary with hatred, not understanding why this young man wanted him dead.

"Who are you?" he screamed, trying to fight back, but Zachary shot his other leg. "Did you torture a man like this before?" Zachary's words stunned Brian. He hadn't expected the descendant of that man to come for revenge.

Zachary didn't want Brian to die easily. He wanted him to suffer a painful death, to face his impending doom with full awareness. "Now you can taste despair," he sneered.

Then he knocked Brian out with a punch.

Zachary looked at the snowy ground below, timed his jump, and leaped from hundreds of feet in the air, landing heavily in the snow. The impact caused excruciating pain in his legs, clearly indicating a fracture.

Just then, a loud rumble echoed. The helicopter explosion had triggered an avalanche. Zachary watched the white snow surge towards him like a tidal wave.

Seraphina's hopeful eyes flashed in his mind. Driven by the instinct to survive, he

ignored the pain in his legs and crawled towards a nearby rock wall.

Once there, he lay down and clung tightly to the rock. The avalanche buried him under

a massive weight of snow.

The avalanche struck without warning.

Theo and his team had just rescued Aaron and were resting in the car.

Hearing the loud noise, they quickly sought safety.

Theo realized it might be an avalanche and remembered Zachary had jumped in that area. He immediately ran towards the avalanche site, with his team following, shouting, "We have to find Zachary!"

The valley was mostly buried in snow, with only the edges of the ridges visible. The scene was a vast expanse of white, making it impossible to see where Zachary was.

Theo knew the chances of survival under an avalanche were slim, but he refused to give up. He ordered his team to use the locator device to search, commanding, "He has to be alive. Don't give up!"

The team moved back and forth with the device, their hands and feet numb from the cold, but they didn't dare slack off.

However, the snow was too deep, and the device showed no response. The search team was on the verge of despair, choking up, "The snow's too thick, the device can't pick up anything. What do we do now?"

Everyone's spirits sank.

Theo was just as anxious. His shoulder had been injured before, and now, faced with the fruitless search, he repeatedly pounded the snow in frustration, shouting, "Zachary, hang in there!"

He refused to give up even the slightest chance of finding Zachary.

Just as everyone was about to lose hope, the locator device suddenly showed a faint signal. Spirits lifted, they quickly dug towards the signal, shouting, "Quick, he must be here!"

After digging about half a meter, a hand emerged from the snow.

Theo and his team immediately recognized it as Zachary's hand.

They continued digging frantically until most of Zachary's body was uncovered.

Theo took a deep breath and jumped into the snow pit, using his hands to dig Zachary

out.

The cold snow felt like needles piercing his fingers, but he didn't seem to notice the pain.

"Zachary, we finally found you!" Theo's voice choked with emotion as he hugged the snow-covered Zachary.

Zachary's face was pale, his eyes closed.

Theo quickly checked Zachary's condition and, confirming he was just unconscious, breathed a sigh of relief. He turned to his team and shouted, "Quick! Get him to the car!"

The team carefully carried Zachary back.

Theo stayed close, watching Zachary's face intently, fearing any mishap.

In the car, the team immediately took measures to warm Zachary and provided basic medical care.

Seeing Zachary, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

"He's really lucky this time," Theo remarked.

In his unconscious state, Zachary's dreams were haunted by Seraphina's image. Her presence seemed to give him the strength to survive.

Even buried under thick snow, on the brink of death, he clung to life.

On the way back, Zachary fell unconscious again, muttering "Seraphina" in his sleep.

The team gathered around, discussing, "Zachary survived the avalanche because he had something to hold on to."

"I always thought he had someone he cared about. You guys guessed right."

"Seraphina must be Zachary's wife."

"Definitely, it's that attachment that gave him the strength to survive."

In Rosewood City, Aiden's office, Aiden had just finished a call. His tense nerves finally

relaxed, and a smile of relief spread across his face. He muttered to himself, "The mission is finally complete, everyone is safe, and they're on their way back." He picked up his phone and called Indigo.

When the call connected, Aiden eagerly said, "Indigo, I have good news. Zachary's mission is over, and everyone is safe. Zachary just has a leg injury, but don't worry." Indigo anxiously asked, "Is he seriously hurt? How is he now?" Aiden patiently explained, "It's just a fracture, he'll be fine with some rest. Don't worry, Indigo."

Indigo sighed in relief, her voice filled with concern, "That silly boy, he always makes me worry during missions. Finally, he can rest. Aiden, I have a favor to ask. Can you find a way to bring Zachary back? I don't want him to be like his father, always running around on dangerous missions. What if something happens..."

Aiden quickly agreed, "Indigo, don't worry. I'll do my best to bring Zachary back this year."
