Chapter 30: Attracting Everyone's Envious Gaze

Dad, Stay Away from My Mom

Melinda excitedly shouted from the audience, "We won!" Her voice was filled with excitement and pride, as if this moment of victory was the most important moment of her life.

Meanwhile, Raymond, who was standing next to her, squatted down and took a tissue from his pocket, carefully wiping the sweat off Sam's forehead.

His movements were gentle and skillful, as if he had done this countless times before. People nearby whispered again, "Raymond is such a manly yet gentle guy, why can't I meet someone like him?" Their words were full of envy and longing.

Melinda paused slightly after hearing this. Sometimes she wondered if Raymond was just pretending to be the kind of person everyone liked.

But at this moment, watching Raymond carefully take care of Sam, her doubts gradually faded away.

She suddenly realized that Raymond not only had a tough exterior but also a gentle and delicate heart.

Next was the spinning ball throw. The father needed to spin around six times while holding his son, then throw the ball. The one who threw the most and the most accurately would win.

While other fathers got dizzy and fell after spinning, Raymond quickly completed ten throws with impressive speed and accuracy.

"Oh my God! Their coordination is amazing, so cool!" a mother couldn't help but shout out loud.

This was also the sentiment of all the mothers present.

Melinda's eyes widened, and her jaw almost dropped in surprise.

She once again saw Sam's happy little face, filled with so much happiness that it seemed to overflow. Meanwhile, Raymond's expression remained calm and composed, and this stark contrast tugged at her heart.

They won again!

"Alright, this round of the father-son coordination challenge is over. Now for the final round, the family relay."

With the host's introduction, the whole family had to participate.

The rules were simple: the father needed to carry the mother while transporting water,

and the child would pour the water at the starting point.

Upon hearing this game, Melinda wanted to give up. She had already been

inexplicably carried by Raymond before, but now being watched by so many people,

she really regretted coming to participate.

Before Melinda could open her mouth to discuss, Raymond picked her up.

"What are you doing? Put me down, the game hasn't started yet."

Melinda struggled a bit.

"Don't move, or you'll blame me if you fall and hurt yourself." Raymond whispered in her ear and even blew a warm breath.

"You..." Melinda shivered, feeling angry but not daring to move.

At the sound of a loud whistle, a cup filled with water was placed in Melinda's hand.

She didn't dare move a bit, but fortunately, Raymond held her steadily, and when they reached the destination, she hadn't spilled a drop of water.

Quickly moving into the second round, this time it wasn't water but a thin napkin that needed to be passed between their lips while crossing obstacles to the other side.

Suddenly, a gust of wind blew the napkin off Melinda's lips, and before she could react, her lips touched Raymond's.

Their eyes met, and Melinda, startled, lost her balance and fell backward, seemingly destined to get hurt today.

But after a while, she felt no pain and realized a hand was firmly supporting her waist. People around them covered their mouths and laughed. Were they here for a parent- child activity or to watch them show off their affection?

However, because of this move, they fell behind significantly.

Raymond, with a smile on his face, looked at Melinda and quickly grabbed another napkin, moving closer to her, their lips almost touching.

For Sam's sake, Melinda couldn't care too much and started the challenge.

Despite her efforts, they still fell behind, but Raymond made up the difference in points.

Sam was still the first place winner, making him shout excitedly, "Daddy, we're number one!"

Sam raised his hands high, his happy expression warming Melinda's heart.

As they left the kindergarten, everyone was stunned to see Raymond driving a luxury car worth millions of dollars!

Finally, in the car, "Mr. Thomas, thank you so much for today."

"What, you think a verbal thank you is enough?" Raymond looked at Melinda with a meaningful expression.

"Mr. Thomas, you're amazing!" Sam was still immersed in excitement.

Raymond slightly turned his handsome face, a gentle smile on his lips, "You must be tired. Let me treat you to dinner."

"No need, I'll take Sam home to eat." Melinda instinctively refused.

However, Sam had a different idea, "Mommy, let's treat Mr. Thomas to a big meal. Mommy, you treat!"

Hearing Sam's innocent and serious voice, Melinda felt speechless.

Not wanting to spoil the mood, she nodded, "Alright, order whatever you want!" Melinda said to Raymond, her voice carrying a hint of boldness.

"You choose the place." Raymond said calmly.

"A new restaurant opened across from the neighborhood, and they're having a promotion." Melinda didn't want to go too far, worried that Sam might catch a cold after sweating.

Raymond nodded, and the car sped towards Melinda's neighborhood.

Inside the restaurant, it was brightly lit and bustling with people.

Melinda found a seat by the window and ordered a few dishes. Soon, the food was served.

Raymond didn't stand on ceremony and started eating.

The atmosphere was harmonious, and Melinda busied herself serving Sam. But then,

an unexpected incident occurred.

A waiter carrying a dish slipped, and the food flew out, about to hit Sam's head.

Raymond quickly shielded him, "Watch out!"

Hot soup spilled on Raymond's arm and back.

"Ah!" The waiter screamed, attracting a lot of attention, and was now in tears, frantically trying to wipe Raymond.

Melinda also stood up, and since Raymond had taken off his jacket due to the heat, wearing only a T-shirt, the hot soup scalded his skin, turning it red. His arm's skin gradually swelled, and the pain made him frown.

He gritted his teeth, trying to endure the excruciating pain.

"Wait, don't wipe it, if the blisters break, it'll leave a scar. Do you have ice?" She quickly stopped the waiter.

The restaurant manager hurried over and, hearing this, immediately instructed others to get ice from the kitchen.

Melinda wrapped a clean towel around the ice and applied it to Raymond's swollen

arm.
