Chapter 300 Aiden is Jealous
Dad, Stay Away from My Mom
After her shower, she barely had time to dry her hair completely, just a quick rub with a towel before she hurried downstairs.
Her face was makeup-free, yet she radiated a fresh, natural beauty.
She wore a white jacket paired with simple jeans and clean white sneakers, giving off a refreshing and pleasant vibe.
Once in the car, Nova smiled at Aiden and said, "Hey, Aiden, we can head out now."
The atmosphere inside Aiden's car was tense, with two imposing bodyguards and the formidable Aiden making Nova too nervous to even breathe properly, unsure of what to say.
After all, she barely saw Aiden throughout the year, and after that scolding in middle school, they hadn't met for years.
Seeing Aiden again, he had matured into someone awe-inspiring.
During the ride, Aiden suddenly asked, "Nova, has the translation department called you?"
Nova stammered nervously, "N-not yet."
Just as she finished speaking, her phone rang. She glanced at Aiden cautiously and asked, "Aiden, can I take this call?"
With his permission, she turned to the screen, her face lighting up with joy as she spoke softly into the phone, "Hey, did you get to the airport? Have you had dinner?"
"No, not yet. How about I pick you up and we grab dinner together?" the person on the other end suggested.
Nova smiled and declined, "No, you just landed, you must be exhausted. Go home and rest."
"Then let's have dinner and watch a movie tomorrow. The latest sci-fi blockbuster from your favorite director just came out," the person proposed.
Nova agreed happily, "Sure, see you tomorrow!"
The car was so quiet you could hear a pin drop, and Nova was so immersed in the conversation that she didn't notice her phone had switched to speaker mode. Aiden, sitting right next to her, heard every word clearly.
He narrowed his eyes slightly, his gaze deep and his brow furrowed, turning to look out the window.
His eyes seemed to ignite with a spark, shining brightly in the dark night. His thoughts drifted with the wind, his heart a mix of complex emotions, as if past memories were surfacing, tinged with confusion.
Nova hung up the phone, her smile lingering, her eyes bright, striking a chord deep within Aiden, causing ripples in his heart.
Aiden looked at her face, feeling a strange sense of nostalgia.
The first time he saw her, she was just a crying baby brought home by Indigo.
Tears streamed down her face like beads on a broken string, impossible to stop.
At that time, Aiden was doing his homework, and the crying disrupted his concentration, making him feel annoyed by the noisy little girl.
"Why is this kid crying non-stop? I can't focus on my homework," Aiden complained to Indigo.
Indigo gently patted the little girl's back, soothing her, "There, there, don't cry. This will be your home from now on."
Aiden was playing basketball, sweating and having fun, when Nova, like a little tyrant, charged in, grabbed the ball, and refused to let go.
Aiden tried to take the ball back, but she pouted, her eyes reddened, and she started crying loudly, "It's my ball! I want to play with it!"
Her crying was ear-piercing, and no amount of comforting worked, leaving Aiden both angry and helpless.
"You little rascal, why are you so stubborn? Give me back the ball!" Aiden kicked the ball away in frustration.
Nova cried even harder, and seeing her pitiful state, Indigo's heart softened, deciding to adopt her.
Nova's parents had to go abroad for urgent work, and Indigo's child was being raised by Atlas, making visits difficult. Lonely, Indigo longed for a child to keep her company, so she decided to keep Nova.
From that day on, Nova became Aiden's inseparable little shadow.
Aiden snapped back to reality, hesitated for a moment, then turned to Nova and asked, "Was that your boyfriend on the phone?"
Nova was taken aback, her body trembling slightly, and she quickly shook her head, "No, no, Aiden, just a classmate asking about school stuff."
Aiden frowned slightly, feeling a surge of inexplicable anger, "Are you two dating?" Nova blushed, scratching her head and avoiding his gaze, "No, we're just... friends." Aiden paused, his gaze deepening, his tone softening with a hint of brotherly warmth and firmness, "You're still young. Focus on your work, don't rush into a relationship." Nova nodded obediently, "I know, Aiden. I'm not planning to date anyone soon." She thought for a moment and added, "Actually, we just have mutual feelings, but it's not at that stage yet."
Nova followed Aiden to a place that looked nothing like a typical restaurant. It felt more like a private kitchen. Though it had the basic layout of a restaurant, there were no other tables occupied.
The staff treated Aiden with a distinct respect, calling him "sir" in a way that suggested he was the owner, highlighting the uniqueness of the place.
They sat at a table by the pool, and Nova watched the fish swimming, her eyes wide with curiosity.
Aiden sat across from her, his deep eyes like the dark night, looking at her childlike face. His thoughts drifted back twenty years, to a summer that felt like yesterday.

He remembered Nova being sick, with a runny nose, clinging to his back saying, "Aiden, I'm sick, I feel awful," and calling him when she had a cold, saying, "Aiden, can you make sure I don't catch a cold next time?" Nova's pitiful look, which he didn't understand at the time, was clearly a longing for his company.
When she was happy, she would run over, kiss his cheek, and say sweetly, "Thank you, Aiden."
Now, he understood.
That image was still deeply etched in Aiden's mind, impossible to forget.
Nova's curious question brought Aiden back to reality, "Aiden, is this your private restaurant?"
Aiden seemed to wake from a dream, his eyes clearing, his expression returning to its usual calm and reserved demeanor.
Aiden nodded slightly, responding with a composed tone, "Yeah, I usually entertain guests here. It's not open to the public."
Nova excitedly looked around, admiring the surroundings, "This place is amazing, so full of life and artistic flair. Every decoration seems so thoughtfully placed."
The waiter gently placed the pre-dinner desserts and juice on the table.
Nova's stomach growled at the sight of the exquisite desserts. She looked at them with wide eyes, her mouth watering, and asked eagerly, "Aiden, can I have some dessert first?"
Aiden couldn't help but smile, his tone indulgent, "If you're hungry, go ahead and eat. Don't hold back."
Nova nodded, picked up a spoon, and took a small bite of the cake.
She closed her eyes slightly, looking satisfied.
The cake melted in her mouth, sweet but not overwhelming, absolutely delicious.
Aiden watched her enjoying the dessert, feeling a warmth in his heart, and casually asked, "Nova, what's your earliest memory?"
