Chapter 301 Drunk Woman

Dad, Stay Away from My Mom

Nova swallowed the cake, squinting as she tried to remember. "I think I was six or seven, around the time I started elementary school. Why do you ask, Mr. Martinez?"

Aiden pressed his lips together, trying to hide his curiosity. "It's nothing. Go ahead and keep eating."

Nova, with her innocent heart, picked up another piece of cake and placed it on Aiden's plate, grinning. "Mr. Martinez, you should try it too. It's really good."

Aiden wasn't a fan of sweets, but seeing the hopeful look in Nova's eyes, he was reminded of when she was little, eagerly waiting for him to play with her. His heart softened, and he took a bite. Nova, acting like a little adult, then asked about Aiden's work.

"Mr. Martinez, are you busy with work?"

Aiden replied, "Yeah, pretty busy."

Nova continued, "Do you get to meet a lot of important people from different countries?"

Aiden nodded slightly.

Nova remembered Indigo mentioning that Aiden was so busy he didn't even have time for dating. She teased, "I bet you're so busy you can't find a girlfriend, right?"

Aiden smirked, "Why are you so interested in my personal life?"

Nova blushed a little. "I'm just concerned about you. Aunt Chen is worried too!" Aiden shrugged it off. "Even you have a boyfriend now. Maybe I should be worried."

Nova, feeling defensive, said, "My classmate and I aren't at that stage yet. We're just good friends who like each other a bit." Aiden's interest was piqued. "Do you have a picture? Let me see."

Nova hesitated for a moment, then took out her phone, scrolling through her photos before handing it to him. "The one in the white T-shirt is my classmate, Levi Morgan. We've known each other since high school."

Aiden took the phone. The photo was taken on a mountain, with a group of seven or eight people. Nova stood next to a tall, sunny-looking Levi. He had the kind of clean- cut, energetic look that young girls often liked.

After looking at the photo, Aiden handed the phone back to Nova. Just as he was about to speak, his phone rang. His expression changed slightly as he answered it. Learning that someone was waiting for him at the restaurant entrance, he frowned and turned to Nova. "I need to step out for a moment. You keep eating."

Nova nodded obediently, watching Aiden's retreating figure. She thought to herself how busy he must be, having to handle matters even during mealtime.

As Aiden reached the entrance, a figure rushed towards him, hugging him tightly. The woman smelled faintly of alcohol, clearly having had a drink.

She buried her head in Aiden's chest, her voice slurred with drunken joy. "Aiden, I missed you so much. I guessed you'd be here, and I was right. I really wanted to see you tonight."

Aiden instinctively pushed her away, holding her shoulders with a calm and distant look.

The woman, around twenty-eight or twenty-nine, had thick, wavy hair cascading over her shoulders. Her makeup was as flawless as a magazine cover model's, exuding beauty and sensuality. She was the kind of stunning woman who would turn heads on the street.

Yet, this captivating woman had been chasing Aiden for five years.

Blair, seeing Aiden trying to push her away, clung to him even tighter, her eyes red with drunken emotion. "I don't want to go home. I just want to be with you, Aiden. I won't go anywhere. Please don't make me leave."

Aiden's voice was cold and firm. "I have things to do tonight. I can't stay with you. You should go home."

Blair Ember, thinking this was just an excuse to get rid of her, became more agitated. "Busy, busy, busy. All you ever say is you're busy. For five years, you've never had time. When will you ever have time? If you had rejected me from the start, I wouldn't have kept chasing you. Is it because I pressured you too much that you won't give me a chance?"

Blair shouted hysterically, feeling deeply wronged.

Aiden sighed in exasperation and called for security.

But as soon as he pushed Blair away, she clung to him again, hugging his waist tightly.

"I won't let go. Even if I die, I won't let go. Aiden, I love you so much."

Nova, having drunk a bit too much juice, hurried to the restroom. As she came out, she heard a woman's voice shouting at the entrance.

"Aiden, tell me honestly, do you have someone you like?"

Curious, Nova moved closer and saw Aiden holding a woman. She couldn't see the

woman's face but wondered about her relationship with Aiden.

If Aiden liked this woman, she thought she should tell Indigo.

Blair, with tears in her eyes, pressed Aiden. "Is there someone else in your heart?"

"Aiden, just say it. If you tell me you like her, I'll give up completely."

Aiden's voice was low and cold. "This has nothing to do with you."

Blair, unwilling to let it go, stepped closer, clutching his shirt. "How can it have nothing to do with me? I've liked you for so many years. Can't I hope for a response from you?"

As they continued to argue, Nova, trying to avoid a passing waiter, hurried back to the private room. In her haste and distraction, she tripped over a step and fell.

"Ouch..." Nova winced, trying to get up when she felt a strong hand supporting her

arm.

She looked up to see Aiden.

"Mr. Martinez..."

"Are you hurt?"

"I'm fine."

Blair, having been pushed aside, looked at Nova in surprise. Seeing her young and pretty face, with delicate features and expressive eyes, jealousy flared up inside her.

She stepped forward, scrutinizing Nova, and then turned to Aiden. "Is she the one you've been waiting for?"

Nova, confused, looked at Aiden and mumbled, "What do you mean, the one he's been waiting for?"

Aiden's face tightened as he grabbed Blair's hand, his tone firm. "Stop it. I'll have someone take you home."

Blair, shocked by Aiden's reaction, shook off his hand and, fueled by the alcohol, shouted, "You won't admit it. What are you afraid of? This is the first time in five years

I've seen you invite a girl to dinner. She must be the one you like."

She pressed on, and Aiden snapped, "Enough. Stop it. It's time to go home."

Blair moved towards Nova, about to ask her name, but Aiden stepped in between them.

"She's my niece," Aiden quickly introduced.

Blair, sensing Aiden's evasion, studied Nova carefully.

Nova, with her clear eyes, stood a few steps away, looking puzzled.

Blair forced a confident smile. "I'm Blair."

She extended her hand.

Aiden grabbed her wrist, turning to Nova. "Go back to the room."

Nova nodded obediently and left.

Watching Nova walk away, Blair turned to Aiden, questioning, "Do you like her?"

Aiden firmly denied it. "Don't be ridiculous. We have no such relationship." Blair, seeing

his serious expression, felt more uneasy and suspicious.

Slightly tipsy, she confessed, "I love you."

Aiden's grip on her wrist tightened. He turned his head, looking seriously at Blair.

Blair, stubbornly staring back, tears welling up, asked again, "What's your relationship with her?"

Aiden warned sternly, "Don't cross the line."

Blair understood that Aiden's evasion meant Nova was important. She wondered why Aiden was drawn to such a pure, pretty girl but was unwilling to give up. After all, Aiden was incredibly charming.

She declared, "Fine, I'll keep waiting." Then she turned and left, taking a few steps before looking back at Aiden with longing.
