Chapter 51: Deliberately Stirring Up Trouble
Dad, Stay Away from My Mom
"He's already proposed. What do you think their relationship is?" William boasted proudly.
However, Raymond remained unmoved and said bluntly, "I like her too."
"Pfft!" William spat out the water he had just drunk, staring at Raymond in disbelief. "Raymond, how could you?"
Raymond remained calm and slowly revealed his feelings, "To be honest, I was kidnapped when I was a child, and it was her father, Scott, who saved me. So, my grandfather has always hoped that I would marry her and take care of her."
William was stunned. He hadn't expected Raymond to have such a deep attachment. Taking a deep breath, he said firmly, "Then I will fight for her too. She's the woman I want."
Raymond smiled slightly, his eyes showing confidence. "Then let's see who wins."
At that moment, William's phone rang. He glanced at the screen, and his expression turned serious.
"I have something to do. I have to go."
With that, William hurriedly left the office.
Thinking he might break his promise, he went to the lab.
He looked apologetically at Melinda. "Melinda, I have something to do tonight. I'll
treat you and Sam to dinner another day."
Melinda smiled understandingly. "It's okay. Go ahead."
William hurriedly left the office, leaving Melinda alone in a daze.
Just then, her phone rang.
When she answered, she heard a voice on the other end, "Has he left?"
Melinda hadn't reacted yet. "Who?"
"What? Are you looking forward to having dinner with him?" The voice on the other end suddenly turned dangerous.
Melinda knew Raymond was jealous again. She deliberately teased him, "Yes! I'm really looking forward to it."
As soon as she finished speaking, the call was hung up.
Holding the beeping phone, Melinda couldn't help but laugh.
Raymond was so easily jealous! But this side of him also made her feel a bit sweet.
Meanwhile, Emily was sitting in a luxury car, carefully touching up her makeup in the mirror.
Satisfied with her appearance, she picked up the exquisite dessert beside her, elegantly opened the car door, and walked towards Radiance Tower in her high heels.
As she walked, she dialed Lena's number, a smug smile on her lips. "Lena, have Melinda come to Raymond's office now. Don't tell her what it's about, just say Mr. Thomas wants to see her."
On the other end, Lena immediately responded, "Understood, Ms. Lowe. I'll take care of it."
Emily walked through the spacious and bright lobby. The receptionist immediately greeted her with a respectful smile, "Hello, Ms. Lowe."
Emily nodded slightly, a noble smile on her face.
She walked straight to the elevator. As the elevator doors opened and she ascended, her mood became increasingly cheerful. Reaching the top floor, she walked lightly towards the CEO's office.
Raymond was busy finishing his work, planning to leave early to go grocery shopping with Melinda.
However, just then, there was a knock on the door, and Stuart walked in, announcing, "Mr. Thomas, Ms. Lowe is here."
Raymond frowned slightly but said, "Let her in."

The door opened, and Emily walked in with a charming smile, sweetly calling out, "Raymond, I brought you some afternoon tea." Her eyes lingered on Raymond, filled with deep anticipation.
Raymond, however, said indifferently, "Don't bring it anymore. I don't really like sweets." He leaned back, his fitted white shirt looking particularly attractive.
Emily's heart couldn't help but race as she looked at Raymond, who was irresistible. She calculated the time, taking step by step towards Raymond, secretly hoping for Melinda's arrival.
At that moment, Melinda received Lena's notification. Without much thought, she took a cab to the Thomas Group building.
Why was Raymond, who was angry on the phone earlier, calling her now? Was he going to use work as an excuse to scold her?
However, when she opened the door, the scene before her stunned her.
Emily was tightly hugging Raymond's waist, looking pained. "Raymond, I feel so dizzy." Raymond, in turn, held her, looking down at her face.
Melinda's pupils contracted, staring at them for a few seconds.
A surge of inexplicable emotion rose in her heart, but she calmly and coldly said, "I won't disturb you. Continue." With that, she turned and forcefully closed the door behind her.
Raymond, realizing what had happened, immediately let go of Emily's shoulders and pried her hands off his waist.
He urgently said to Emily, "I'll have Stuart take you to the hospital."
With that, he gave Emily a gentle push. Though the push wasn't strong, Emily took the opportunity to fall to the ground.
"Ah!" Emily let out a cry.
Raymond had just turned to leave but turned back to see Emily on the floor.
Clenching his fist, he returned to help Emily up and asked, "Are you okay?"

"Raymond, what's wrong?" Emily asked, feigning confusion.
Raymond, without answering, pressed the intercom and called out, "Stuart, come here."
Stuart quickly knocked and entered.
Raymond instructed him, "Take Ms. Lowe to the hospital for a check-up, then take her home."
Emily's plan had succeeded.
Her goal was achieved.
The intimate scene between her and Raymond was enough to make Melinda hate Raymond!
"Raymond, I want to have dinner with you," Emily pleaded.
"I have something tonight. Next time." Raymond said, grabbing his phone from the
desk and quickly leaving, his figure almost in a panic.
He went straight out, drove to the lab, and went to Melinda's office, only to find she was gone.
He asked Kathy outside, "Where's Melinda?"
"Melinda left early, Mr. Thomas. Do you need her for something?" Kathy's voice had a hint of nervousness.
Raymond's face remained calm as he replied, "No." He turned and left, dialing a number.
At that moment, Melinda was in a cab, heading to pick up Sam from kindergarten. Her phone vibrated in her hand. She glanced at the screen, a cold smile forming on her lips, and chose to ignore it.
The phone rang once and then stopped. Melinda looked out at the bustling streets, her mind involuntarily replaying the scene she had just witnessed.
